Joining the parade is a tradition for Gila River Casinos and this year is no exception. This year, Team Members from all three properties will walk with participants from the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Coyotes and Arizona Diamondbacks. D-Baxter of the D-backs, Howler of the Coyotes and Big Red of the Cardinals join an Arizona Cardinals player, cheerleaders and some of our very own Team Members as the route winds through Sacaton. Gila River Casinos and their partners provide greetings and goodies to event guests as they walk the route. It’s a great time every year and I hope you can make it to enjoy the festivities.

Gila River Casinos is proud to participate in the 52nd annual Mul-Chu-Tha Fair & Rodeo this month. Mul-Chu-Tha celebrates traditions of the Gila River Indian Community and brings together families, friends and visitors for a fabulous weekend.

discuss these with your supervisor.

D-backs pitching prospect Archie Bradley joined several other

teammates at the all-new Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino last month. The team signed autographs and greeted fans before reporting to

spring training to prepare for another great year of baseball.

Lone Butte said goodbye to two beloved Team Members recently. Calvin Knox and David Miller celebrated retirement and said goodbye to Team Members and friends. We wish Calvin

and David all the best in retirement.

DIAMONDBACKSPLAY BALL AT NEW VENUE

The namesake of Vee Quiva’s marquee restaurant, Mike Ditka, stopped by for a visit in February. Da’ Coach was a huge hit everywhere he went as he provided lasting memories for Team Members and guests at Vee

Quiva and around the Valley.

At the Taste of Tempe, Coach Ditka helped team members serve over 1,800 orders of wings as the Ditkas’s booth became one of the most popular spots at the festival. With his trademark cigar and mustache he

wowed the crowd as he described the menu items on display at his signature eatery.

Da’ Coach was also the main attraction at a special dinner for guests of the restaurant.

DITKA HEATS THINGS UP

The Gila River Indian Community’s annual Mul-Chu-Tha, Fair and Rodeo will be held in Sacaton AZ on March 14-16, 2014.

On Tuesday, March 25th Gila River Casinos is introducing a new way to honor all of our awarded Team Members.

There are many ways to be recognized at Gila River Casinos and sometimes it can be a bit confusing. Service Stars, Recognition Chips, Excellence Awards and Team Performance Awards are all

meant to reward you for the exceptional job you do.

On March 25th Gila River Casinos holds the first Star Team Member party to honor every awardee.

The events will be held quarterly and will recognize winners from all of our recognition programs plus Team Members

who have completed five years of service.

Find the word clues by reading the stories in this month’s River Spirit and send the secret word to Justin Sullivan in Guest Service for a chance to win a pair of movie tickets. Just be sure to include your name, department, extension and your
