Instructions for using Citrix to access applications for students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. What is Citrix? Citrix is a product that provides remote access to applications. Important Notification: All users should save their files frequently. Do not create a document without ever saving the file while you are working on it. Regularly save a backup copy of the file you are currently using. All inactive programs/sessions will be disconnected after 2hours. Loss of data is possible if you have not saved your file. All disconnected sessions will be disconnected after 2hours. Loss of data is possible if you have not saved your file. Files can only be saved to your local PC or media and not to the Citrix server Properly exit all applications. Exit applications using the exit command from the File menu. Do not close the window of the application (the X button) or close/exit the Citrix Client. Make sure the date, time, and time zone are correct on your personal computer. Use the following link as the http://time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java All KSU computers will have the correct date/time set automatically.

Instructions for using Citrix to access applications for students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. What is Citrix? Citrix is a product that provides remote access to applications.

If you have difficulty authenticating to the Citrix server, you may need to change your password or reset your NetID account. To change your password, you will need to login to NetID from the following URL: https://netid.kennesaw.edu/ and click the “Change you Password” link. If you are still unable to authenticate to the Citrix server, you will need to reset your NetID account using the following link https://netid.kennesaw.edu/?page=reset Any access issues can be reported using the following web page: http://science.kennesaw.edu/tss/citrix/citrix_support_request.html Installation Access to the Citrix server will be by web access only at this time Before accessing the Citrix server, you will need to install the Citrix client to your computer. The following window will appear after the installation. Do not enter any information. Click the Cancel button to exit out of the window.

You will need to restart your computer before proceeding. Accessing the Server To access the server use the following link:

http://science-citrix.kennesaw.edu You will need to use Internet Explorer when accessing the server. Mac users can also use Safari or Firefox. You will be brought to page requesting you to log into the server. You must use your KSU Net ID and password. In the field named domain, enter Win If you receive an error message indicating that your account cannot log into the server, it will be necessary to reset your Net ID password. To change your password, you will need to login to NetID from the following URL: https://netid.kennesaw.edu/ and click the “Change you Password” link.

If you are still unable to authenticate to the Citrix server, you will need to reset your NetID account using the following link https://netid.kennesaw.edu/?page=reset After you have logged into the Citrix server, you will see a list of applications that have been granted for you to use. Double clicking on any of the programs will start the applications in another window. Saving Files Application files can only be saved locally to you computer or media. Save your file(s) as soon as they are created and frequently as you are making changes. It is best practice to occasionally save a backup of the current file. Printing Printing is not yet available. Notification will be sent when printing is enabled. Do’s and Don’ts Do not leave an application running unattended. Some applications only have a few licenses available for all users. Do not remain logged into the Citrix server if you are not running an application. Only 50 users concurrently can connect to the server.
