    Instructions for Barcode Demonstration

Note: Use the Demonstration project in the installed schema.

    1. Cable Cutting

Go to the Cable Cutting Schedule(CMYF10) and query backLine 0001. Use the Printbutton to generate aFor Use cutting schedule. Before scanning the barcode to say that all these cables have been cut, use theRevert Drumbutton on a single cable, which will reset its Issued To Storeand Drum Novalues back to nulland TBC respectively.

When the scanned data is loaded the cable that you have used the Revert on should be rejected. The remainingcables should have their Date Cutvalue updated.

Check the results in the Cable Cutting ScheduleCMYF10.

    2. Stage Installation - By Cable

Go to the Cable Running Sheetreport (CMYP04) and use the RePrintoption for Line 0002(it has alreadybeen printed For Use) - ensure that the EXCLUDE FULLY PULLED CABLEScheckbox is UNCHECKED.

Scan all of the individual cable barcodes to identify that they have been fully pulled (maybe in different scanstages, if you can be bothered). Cable DGE-0010should be rejected because it has already been logged asfully pulled. The remaining cables should have their status raised to IFP and their Fully Pulled lengthupdated.

You can check the results in the Cable Pulling Progressscreen CMYF13.

    3. Stage Installation - By Stage

Go to the Cable Running Sheetreport (CMYP04) and use the RePrintoption forLine 0003(it has alreadybeen printed For Use) - ensure that the EXCLUDE FULLY PULLED CABLEScheckbox is UNCHECKED.

Scan the Stagebarcode to signify that all cables on the stage have been fully pulled. Cable DGE-0022shouldbe rejected because it is currently under review.

You can check the results in the Cable Pulling Progressscreen CMYF13.4. Surplus Lengths

Go to the Cable Lengths Surplus By Compartmentreport (CMYP31) and run forVessel 1, Area A005.

    When scanning the barcodes:

For CWS-0001 enter From Surplus of 2 and a To Surplus of 1.

For CWS-0002 enter From Surplus of 2.

For CWS-0003 enter To Surplus of 1.

For CWS-0004 enter To Surplus of 65.

CWS-0003should be rejected initially because it is set Stopwork, but the Re-Validateoption will allow thisto be forced through.

CWS-0004should be rejected because its surplus cannot exceed its cut length.

You can check the results in the Record Cable Surplus Lengthsscreen CMYF23.

    5. Termination - By Cable

Go to the Connection Details By Devicereport (CMYP16) and use the RePrintoption for device DGE-0001(it has already been printed For Use). This will return cables:

    DGE-0020

    DGE-0021

    2/2

Scan each of the cable barcodes to signify that the cable has been terminated at device DGE-0001 EXCEPTFOR CABLE DGE-0024, which should be ignored completely. Input a surplus length of 2 against cable DGE-0023.

CableDGE-0021should be rejected because its termination status is already set to IFTFNTT.

Check the results in theBatch Terminationsscreen CMYF26 (cable status should be IFTFNTTfor all cablesexcept forDGE-0024which should still be at TSP).

    6. Termination - By Device

Go to theConnection Details By Device report (CMYP16) and use the For Use option for device DGE-0002. This will return the same cables as (5). This time, scan the barcode on the Notespage, which signifiesthat all cables connected to the device have been terminated.

This should not result in any errors.

Check the results in the Batch Terminationsscreen CMYF26 (cable status should be IFTFFTTfor all cablesexcept for DGE-0024which should have a status of INTFFTT).

    7. Checkwire

Following on from (5) and (6) there should now be 3 cables which are fully terminated (DGE-0020, DGE-0021 & DGE-0023) and one part-terminated (DGE-0024). Only cables that are fully terminated are suitablefor taking to checkwire status (CCW).

Go to the Cable Connection Detailsreport (CMYP15), select device DGE-0001and ensure that the CABLESAVAILABLE FOR CHECKWIRE ONLY?is set ON. The 3 cables available for checkwire should be displayed.Scan the barcode against each cable and a resistance range from the chart.

To force a record to be rejected, either create a new resistance range that doesn't exist in Reference Data (typeCABRES) or temporarily delete a resistance range from Reference Data.

Check the results in the Checkwire and Record Resistance screen (CMYF14) and in the Site CableInstallationscreen to check that the status has been raised to CCW.

    8. Device CIC

Go to the Devices Ready for CICreport (CMYP20) and run for Vessel 1, Area A001. Devices DGE-0003and DGE-0004will be displayed. In order to generate an error, before scanning the report go to the DeviceHandover Checkscreen (CMYF15) and click on the Terminated and Checkwiredbutton to retrieve deviceswhich are ready for CIC. Update DGE-0003by double-clicking in theCIC Datefield. Then SAVE.

Now if you scan the two devices, DGE-0003 should be rejected because it has already achieved CIC andDGE-0004should be ok.

Check the results in the Device Handover Checkscreen (CMYF15) - both devices should appear in the CICCompletesection. To make the device available for CIC again, simply delete the CIC data.
