Come, Follow Me 2019-For Primary- Singing Time Helps March:
“Did You Think To Pray" Hymn 140
Song IntroductionAsk a child to read Matthew 7:7 or you may read it to them. Briefly let them share what
they think this scripture means. Share your thoughts on the scripture and explain that
today as they learn a new song they are going to learn when it is appropriate to pray.
1st VersePrint and cut out the clock pieces and wordstrips. Before Singing Time place the clock
hands on the board. Leave enough room for the numbers and wordstips. In random
areas around the room tape a wordstrip with a number. If your Primary is familiar with
the song you may want to mix up the order. If your primary is not familiar with he song
put them in number order. Example: 12- Ere you left your room this morning
1-Did you think to pray? After you have read and discussed the scripture ask a
volunteer to find the first number on the clock, 12. Ask them to put the number on the
clock and place the wordstrip on the board. Sing that line. Now move onto number 1
follow the same steps as before. Continue using these steps with the remaining
numbers until the clock is finished and you have sung the entire first verse and
These are only suggested lesson ideas. Always follow the spirit and do what works best for the needs of your Primary.
I suggest Printing on card stock and laminating for multiple uses

2nd Verse I have included blank wordstrips if you would like to teach your primary additional
verses.
chorus. Now ask the kids to look at the clock. Invite a volunteer up to show you what
time we can pray. Ask another child to come up and do the same. Of course each
number a child points to is correct. Explain that our Heavenly Father wants us to pray
to him often, anytime and anywhere!
Reviewing The SongPrint the dice on card stock and cut out. Crease all of the lines before you fold it.
Secure with glue or tap. Once you feel like your kids are comfortable with the song
let them take turns rolling the dice. Sing the song the way it suggests or have them
answer the question.
-Something fun you can do is pick a couple key words you want them to focus on
and ask them to clap each time they hear those words. This helps them focus on the
words and it works great for keeping the little ones attention.
-Ask Jr Primary to help you come up with some simple actions to prompt each
phrase. This is a great way to help the younger kids learn the words.
