gained in last months and to plan for the

upcoming session. It was a month of

strategies, policies, decisions and

preparation. Amidst all the planning, there

were moments of new learning and

experiences which enriched students and

teachers alike. The July issue of our monthly

E-Newsletter brings forth the activities that

were conducted this month. As we prepare

to welcome our new batch, here is what we

have been preparing ourselves with.

1. According to updated World Bank

figures for 2017, India has become

world’s sixth-biggest economy,

pushing France into seventh place.

India’s GDP amounted to $2.597

trillion at the end of last year as against

$2.582 trillion for France.

2. Paytm has launched forex services

offering both forex card and cash. The

Paytm forex card and forex cash can be

ordered on a real-time basis and will be

delivered at the doorstep within 48

hours.

3. Samsung has opened a mobile phone

factory in Noida at a cost of ₹ 4,500

crores which can produce 12 crore

smartphones every year and will

generate 15,000 local jobs. It is said to

be the world’s largest mobile phone

factory.

4. After agreeing to buy a 77% stake in

Flipkart for $16 billion, Walmart is now

looking for acqui-hires and niche tech-

product start-ups in India.

5. Voda-Idea to be India's largest

operator after govt approves final

Striving Towards Excellence

RDIAS seeks motivation from young leaders who have carved a niche for themselves in the Corporate World. In one such initiative by the Institute, our MBA III Semester Students interviewed Mr. Rahul Tyagi – CEO, Lucideus Training, and derived meaningful lessons. Mr. Tyagi is a cyber space researcher, a published author and the most followed Indian Security expert on social media platforms. Kartik Sharma, Anmol Garg and Arushi Singh from MBA III Sem , II Shift, Section A, had a detailed and informative discussion with Mr. Tyagi and were in high spirits after meeting him.

Faculty Development InitiativesSpecialized faculty development programmes were conducted for Marketing and HR researchers.

FDP on “Panel Data Analysis” from 16-18 July, 2018FDP on “Panel Data Analysis” was organized for researchers with Finance as specialization and was attended by external and internal participants. Prof. C.P. Gupta – Professor, Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi – South Campus conducted the wonderfully interactive session on panel data.

A workshop on practical aspects of research in marketing was organized for researchers specializing in marketing. Various research techniques like Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Conjoint Analysis and Regression were discussed to strengthen the research base of the participants. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Sanjiv Mittal – Professor, USMS, GGSIPU.
