Hello, 

Welcome  to  the  reference  guide  for  installation  of MKCL’s ERA eLearning Revolution for All. This guide will  help  you  to  understand  the  installation procedures  in  more  detail.  Please  read  this Installation  Guide  carefully  before  you  start  the actual Installation.

Before you start …

• Install MKCLs  ERA  on  the  server  machine  of  your Intranet. 

• Ensure that you have at‐least 5 GB of free space on the  drive  where  Operating  System  and  IIS  is installed. (By default, this will be in the C:\) 

• Install  the  ERA  from  a  login  where  it  has  the Administrative privileges of Operating System.

• You  should  have  Flash  Player  installed  in  the machines in order to view the content properly.

• Put this installer DVD in the DVD drive in your server machine itself; so that installation will be smooth.

Before you start …• Check  whether  Internet  Information  Service  (IIS)  is 

installed  in  your machine.  If  IIS  is not present,  you will receive a message as follows during the installation. 

• If IIS is not present, you have to install IIS.• Refer document with more details on IIS Configuration

Before you start …

• If .NET Framework 2.0 is not installed earlier  in your machine,  the  installer  will  start  the  installation  of .NET Framework

Before you start …

• If  Microsoft  SQL  Desktop  Engine  (MSDE)  is  not installed  earlier  in  your machine,  the  installer  will start the installation of MSDE for the ERA instance.

• Once all the prerequisites are over, the installation of ERA will start.

• Read the instructions and ensure that you are having minimum  5  GB  free  space  available  on  the  drive where  Operating  System  and  IIS  is  installed. (By default, this will be in the C:\)

• Enter  your  Center  Code.  Make  sure  that  you  are entering  your  center  code  correctly  as  this will  be used throughout the system. 

• This center code will be the Login ID of the Learning Facilitator (Admin) login of ERA

• Enter your desired password which will be used  for login to the Learning Facilitator (Admin) login of ERA. 

• Preferably you can keep the same password which is used for login to SOLAR.

Click Next to Start Installation

• Confirm  the  Center  Code which  you  have  entered. Make  sure  that  the  Center  code  is  correct.  If  the Center Code entered is correct, press Yes, otherwise press No

• It might take around 60 minutes for the installation. This is because around 3 GB of physical files are getting copied to your machine. Please wait for the complete installation to get over.

ERA Installation is completed. You can use the icons generated on

your desktop for accessing the various logins.

MKCLs ERA Activation

• Before activation check the following– The System date should be current.

– The Time Zone should Indian Standard Time .(Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi).

• Once  ERA  installation  is  completed,  you  have  to Activate ERA Framework.

• Click  on  the  ERA  Learning  Facilitator  icon  and following screen will be displayed.

Click on the Activate button.

• You will get a message of successful activation.

• Now you are ready to enter into the eLearning world

Click on the OK button to Login as a Learning Facilitator

Conclusion• Congratulations !!! You have installed MKCL’s ERA.• You can  login  to  the Learning Facilitator  login using  the 

shortcut  icon  available  in  your  desktop.  Enter  your center  code  as  your  Login  ID  and  the  password which you have chosen at the time of installation. 

• Normally  the  Learning  Facilitator  login  will  have  the following URL: http://<<server machine name>>/era/sysindex.aspx

• Using  the  Administrator  login,  you  can  download  the learner details.

• Learners can login by providing the following URL in their browser:http://<<server machine name>>/era/index.aspx
