Login: Lockie2004 Password: xxxxx

We will need to activate for every installation for a new Activation Code.

3.2 Security You have to specify the correct security for Administrators tasks as well as running application. It’s better if you have a Distribution List. 4. Tricks & Tips

• Blue screen while launching Management Console. Check the video card driver. ATI card has some problem with Java. Either update JRE to be later than 1.4.2 or use another video card.

• If the Terminal Server is expired, we can get another 90 days by deleting the hardwareID as below:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing\ delete the entire hardwareID (only the hardwareID and not the Parameters or Store entry)

• Check the SQL Server to make sure it allows both NT authentication and SQL Server authentication.

• After activated the license, we still receive the popup screen of the Warning Message

about the License. To fix this, we reset the Feature Release Level to NONE (within the Server Properties).

• For the roaming profile, please set it at AD.

• “Your Interactive Logon Privilege Has Been Disabled.” o When a user account is denied the Read permission to the active directory or local

account information in the Windows Security Account Manager (SAM) database, the logon request is unsuccessful because the operating system cannot determine if the user has permission to log on to Windows.

o Please also check the Terminal Service Permission for the Account on Domain. o Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 815266, provides a workaround.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Locate the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server

3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4. In the New Value #1 box, type IgnoreRegUserConfigErrors, and then press ENTER. 5. Right-click IgnoreRegUserConfigErrors, and then click Modify. 6. In the Value data box, type 1 (one), click Decimal, and then click OK. 7. Quit Registry Editor.

• If XML Service is corrupted Or o Remove Web Interface

o Reinstall IIS o Unregister and then register XML Service on MetaFram

Un-registering the XML Service1. Open a ‘Command Prompt’ window 2. Run ‘ctxxmlss /u’ (This command will un-register the Citrix XML service and mark it for deletion) 3. Reboot the server Registering the XML on a port other than sharing with IIS1. Un-register the service using the instructions above. 2. Open a ‘Command Prompt’ window 3. Run ctxxmlss /r[Port Number] (Notice that there is no space between the switch “/r” and the port number. 4. Reboot the server or open the service control manager and manually start the Citrix XML Service

o Reinstall Web Interface • When logging onto an NFuse Web site, the application icons appear correctly. However, when clicking the application, the following error message appears: “Ticketing feature is disabled. Please verify that Citrix XML Service is running on all the MetaFrame servers.” When connecting to a published application through NFuse using credentials in a domain where the domain name contained an ampersand (&), the following error message appeared: “The application encountered an error trying to connect to the MetaFrame server through NFuse. The ticketing feature is disabled on one or more MetaFrame servers. Please make sure the Citrix XML Service is running in the farm and that all are listening on the same port number.” An ampersand is the escape character in XML and HTML. The Citrix XML parser attempted to parse the characters after the ampersand as an escape character sequence, which caused the error in the XML parser. The ampersand in the domain name is now properly encoded in the XML request and the ticketing feature works as intended. Resolution

o From the Citrix Management Console, click the Servers tab. o Right-click a server and check the server Properties. o From the MetaFrame Settings tab, check Citrix XML Service. Verify the port

number o Click OK to save and exit o Do the same for the remaining MetaFrame servers. o Ensure that all MetaFrame servers are using the same XML port number. Edit if

necessary o Restart the servers on which you made changes

OR Apply Hotfix XE102W053 if applicable.
