Whether you are photographing wildlife during our Digiscoping experience, making custom chocolates during the Chocolate Factory event or journeying-out on our Blue River Snowshoe Adventure, these activities will certainly enrich your vacation experience. Please join us at the Blue River Lounge for your morning latte, a glass of wine and a bowl of our legendary Summit County Chili after a fun day on the slopes. And don’t forget to join us for our twice daily happy hours from 3–5pm and every evening from 8–10pm.

Our new, contemporary resort in the Rocky Mountains proudly tips its hat to the region’s rich ranching and mining history. The Ranahan was cowboy slang for a rancher’s top cowhand. Ranchers counted on their “Ranny” to round up the cattle and guide them safely across Colorado’s open range. The Ranahan was one of many backcountry pioneers who flocked to Breckenridge’s Tenmile Range more than 140 years ago searching for gold and good fortune.

Inspired by the grand ranching residences of a bygone era, our majestic lobby with spectacular timber-finished fireplace is the perfect gathering spot for planning the day’s escapades or relaxing after they’re done. Our respect for Breckenridge’s early settlers is on display throughout the resort, both inside and out, from the artifacts gracing our lobby shelves to our ranch-style employee bunkhouse and adjacent Gibbs Barn center modeled after a Ranahan’s stable.
