The value of a product cannot be invented.
It needs to be planned in detail and built with great seriousness.
We are aware that nowadays a wooden floor plays the role of a part of the furnishings
for this reason, we are paying much attention to the trends of design for our proposals.
Besides their beauty, we rely upon other two keystones:
the healthiness of our product - that must be absolute - and its duration over the years.
Because if other producers can show their new and pleasant-looking floors,
Fiemme 3000 succeeds in keeping unchanged the superior Beauty of wood for 30 years.

years spent in a villa surrounded by a park
in the suburbs, had to move to the city cen-
tre and change his deep-rooted habits and
his lifestyle. This transition might upset,
but it turned to be a natural experience.
While he was looking for his ideal house, he
found two properties situated on the last
two floors of an elegant and noble build-
ing. Therefore, the project aimed to com-
pletely refurbish the two real estates and
start from scratch, in order to realize a sin-
gle large apartment, where the staircase
suggestively connects the two floors. Only
ten months to complete the works. The at-
tic now wears an elegant custom-made
“suit” where some contemporary ele-
ments, like the very frequent and the par-
ticular black and varnished doors in the liv-
ing room and a mix of laminate and
polyester, interact with the wood and cre-
ate very charming matches.
A REASONABLE AND FUNCTIONAL PROJECT, BETWEEN CULTURAL VISIONS AND AN OUTSTANDING VIEW
1 / 2 Our Fiemme 3000 wood softly connects all rooms of this attic in Vallagarina. Our series Fior di Fiemme shines and its beauty is the beauty of nature according to nature. An appeal nourished by time.
3 The interior spaces of the bright living room interact with the outside spaces, thanks to largewindows and the continuity that the woods of Fiemme 3000 can give. Fior di Platino, used for the interior design, gives space to the series Esterni di Fiemme laid in the panoramic terrace.

L ightness. High manufacturing. Top re-
sistance. Variety of colours. Healthi-
ness. These are the features of Fiemme
3000’s oak, the expression of an ancient
but always lively tradition. If installed in
strongly modern-marked locations, our oak
gives life to sought-after, stimulating and
frisky contrasts. It creates a noticeable out-
come in this ambitious renovation project
developed by the associated architects Tec-
narch of Rovereto. Here, in the heart of Val-
lagarina, this luxury attic springs to life, as
ideal combination of simple things and
amazing elegance. This project was based
on the centrepieces of Fiemme: our boards.
As the surveyor Renzo Falqui Massidda ex-
plains (his son Riccardo helped him for the
planning): «The floors were the first ele-
ments we chose for the interior architec-
ture. Not by chance, the beauty of these
floors lure visitors, especially thanks to
the feeling of warmth they release». The
renovation project and the dwelling were
developed around a main element, Fior di
Platino of Fior di Fiemme series, laid on the
entire 250-square-metre surface. Precious
and solid three-crossed-layer boards, chief-
ly realized manually to create a strong aes-
thetic impact in the laying pattern, in this
case by taking advantage of the floating
running laying. The same choice can be
found in the bathrooms and on the internal
staircase - a combination of steel, glass
and wood, so much original to look like
“nestled” in the air. The histories of the at-
tic and the client go together. He, after

4 Fior di Platino brings out the modernity and comfort of the living room. The hazel and grey nuances alternate with dove-grey and cream passages that lighten over the years.
5 The aged oak looks sunburned and renewed by the oiling. Perfect for a cosier bedroom.
6 For all floors. Also in the bathroom, they relied on the floating laying recommended by Fiemme 3000 because, thanks to the lacking of chemical products, it perfectly tunes into the green building rules.
7 Glass, steel and Fior di Platino for the original staircase that looks “nestled” in the air.

RE YOU PLEASED WITH THIS PROJECT?
A lot, actually. The final result is definitely awarding, also because I had carte
blanche and could make decisions inspired by the excellence. My clients ad-
dressed me the most gratifying compliment: they had moved just a week ear-
lier and told me they had the impression of been living there since forever. For
me, making their change of home and lifestyle as comfortable as possible was
one of my most important goals to chase and achieve.
HOW DID YOU GET TO VAL DI FIEMME?
For all our choices we were seeking the excellence. And for the floors I had no
doubt. I prosed my clients the best ones: Fiemme 3000 wooden floors. I had
already worked with this company as the quality, duration and beauty of their
stand out. Moreover, Fiemme 3000 have close to their heart another impor-
tant factor, not well considered sometimes: the laying. The essence we chose,
Fior di Platino of the series Fior di Fiemme, thanks to the warmth it can give
off, played a decisive role in realizing a plain but very refined and elegant set-
ting. After all, these features belong to the owners, too.
IS THERE A CORNER OF THE APARTMENT YOU LOVE MORE?
Yes, there is. It's the studio with its terrace overlooking the mountains. A par-
adise calling upon you to meditate and relax. In my opinion, a particularly suc-
cessful project.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT USING WOOD IN CONTEMPORARY DESIGN?
Since time immemorial, nature give us what we need for all our activities, but
we haven't always used its gifts properly. However, in the latest years we are
re-discovering a better quality of life using and interpreting some living mate-
rials. Moreover, I think wood is one of the most significant and privileged
meeting points between man and nature. It has the rare ability of transmitting
– also in the most contemporary interiors – warmth, outstanding elegance and
a marked feeling of solidity.

and creating a very elegant atmos-
phere».
To access the spectacular terrace, you can
use the internal staircase in Nocciolieve or
the external staircase lined with stone.
The stone here creates a suggestive chro-
matic contrast between the white facility
and its eggplant colour. Upstairs, you en-
ter the solarium and a large swimming-
pool with jacuzzi. This area is protected by
an aluminium structure with louvers that,
when opening and closing, becomes wa-
ter-proof and liveable also on rainy days. In
the solarium, the floor is in teak (Esterni di
Fiemme) as it is highly resistant to mois-
ture and climate.
FASCINATION OF LIGHTS AND GLARES IN THE RESIDENCE BETWEEN THE EARTH AND THE SEA
1 Indoor and outdoor can blend in the nature-oriented philosophy of Fiemme 3000. The large staircase in the garden is in teak, a very strong, precious and beautiful essence able to guarantee high technical performances. Teak is the flagship of the series Esterni di Fiemme.
2 / 3 Thanks to the combination between BioPlus and Thermowood, the beauty and strength of our Luci di Fiemme woods are unique and particularly recommended for locations subject to greater wear and tear, like the reception areas.

1981, Alessio Frison graduat-
ed in Architecture at I.U.A.V.
University of Venice with the
thesis “Restoration, renova-
tion and revaluation of a part
of the city of Krakow”. He is
still committed in this ac-
tion field; in fact, his main
activity is the upgrading and
restoration of private prop-
erties, from the planning to

watchword: upgrading
A CHEST OF LIGHTNESS AND BRIGHTNESS
Only nine months to turn a villa -
built in the Eighties with the
standards typical of Isola di Albarella, an oa-
sis situated in the lagoon south of Venice -,
into a splendid dwelling surrounded by the
blue sea and a green garden.
The light enters through the large win-
dows, one of the strong points of this ren-
ovation project signed by the architect
Alessio Frison. The light gives the building
more brilliance and lightness, gets along
with the warm and light colours of the fur-
niture and most of all, blending with the
wood of the floor, it highlights the home
furnishings. The owners chose the knotty
essence of Fiemme 3000, Nocciolieve from
Luci di Fiemme series. More than 175
square metres in running laying.
The brightness of the floors of this series,
as its name suggests, is in their DNA: in
their grains flow life and the intelligence
of men. Thanks to the thermal treatment
Thermowood, the wood becomes more re-
sistant and takes on warm and intense
nuances that vary from the deep tones of
the wet ground to the shades of caramel-
ized honey.
As the architect Frison explained, «Noccio-
lieve soft colours were more responsive to
the beauty of this house, where both the
kitchen furniture and the dove-grey sofa
embrace these nuances to instil relaxation
and welcome the guests. Spaces are wide,
sometimes they look like the natural
continuation of the garden, separating
the kitchen from the rest of the house

4 In Nocciolieve, the bleaching masters the vivid brown nuances of the thermowood oak and dissolves them in calm, soft and gentle hazel shades that perfectly match the intimacy of the bedroom.
5 The beauty of nature that man lights up. Luci di Fiemme are glowing and also interpret the most polished locations with style and refinement.
6 The particular brilliance of Luci di Fiemme stands out in the spaces dedicated to conviviality: this “stage” does not fear the wear and tear nor the footfall. On the contrary, it makes you live Nocciolieve and enjoy your freedom.

A CHEST OF LIGHTNESS AND BRIGHTNESS
INITIALLY, HOW WAS THE BUILDING LIKE AND WHAT DID YOU CHANGE?
The house looked like many other houses built in Albarella in the Eighties. Grey,
with standard windows, a huge ceiling and a courtyard all around the house. I
removed the two latter elements and substituted them with a large terrace
and wide glass walls on the ground floor to make the house brighter and finer.
The turret realized above the external staircase is very particular, as it gives a
bird's eye view to admire the island and its distinctive features and, indeed, the
sea.
WHAT DID YOUR CLIENT ASK YOU?
The owners give me carte blanche to plan and renovate both the structure and
the furniture. Their contact person was the engineer Diego Pauletti and we
took many decisions together. For example, we both wanted to realize a dwell-
ing that could be welcoming even when the weather is bad. Especially to the
terrace, protected by pergolas that can be closed. My clients have appreciated
the final result a lot.
WHAT WAS YOUR MAIN INSPIRATION?
Creating a different building for the others, to give it a more playful and funny
concept and to open and juice up the spaces. For this reason, the wood helped
me a lot: modernity flows in its grains.
WHY DID YOU OPT FOR FIEMME 3000 WOODEN FLOORS AND, IN PARTICULAR, FOR THE ESSENCE NOCCIOLIEVE?
We were looking for natural and long-lasting floors and Fiemme 3000's are the
best. We chose the oak for the interior floors because, thanks to its beauty, we
knew that this essence could fit well with the warm and light-coloured pieces
of furniture. For the outdoor spaces and the solarium we chose the teak, as it
is a beautiful and practical material.

chitect Luigina Bianchi was born in

holdings to be saved
For this house, they selected the essence
Re Bianco of the series Boschi di Fiemme.
Fiemme 3000's whitest oak. Uniform and
compact, fine and decisive. The whole
residence (changing room-laundry, bed-
rooms and three bathrooms) is accompa-
nied by the sweet glares of the oak that
seem to weave a silent dialogue with the
light from the big glass walls, creating a
wide one-space. All in wood. A wood that
they also used to cover the wall separating
the wedding bedroom from the walk-in
closet. Inside, you can feel a quiet sensa-
tion of lightness highlighted by the neu-
tral colours of the big white corner sofa in
the living room that matches with the two
Jean Nouvel metal tables and the glass,
cleverly used in the kitchen. The dyna-
mism of the spaces is evident in the wed-
ding room, a real shelter to laze in after a
day's work. As the latest trends in interior
design express, the sink, shower and Turk-
ish bath are open-plan and want to recre-
ate the atmospheres and charm of a pres-
tigious hotel suite. Our clients had some
soft pantographic writings written on
some elements, like the headboard and
white-lacquered wooden bathtub. A sort
of tribute to kindness and respect.
A TOTAL REFURBISHMENT, A PERFECT METAMORPHOSIS IN THE NAME OF GREEN BUILDING
1 Boschi di Fiemme turn the bedroom into a “biocompatble refuge”. Re Bianco covers the wall to create a 100% healthy space.
2 / 3 Wellness, first. The woods of Fiemme 3000 boast a revolutionary treatment - Fiemme 3000 BioPlus - developed to naturally preserve the beauty of wood. Therefore, leave wide space to wooden flooring in relax and wellness areas.

THE COURAGE OF DREAMS
A three-year planning and a three-year
building. A big effort, but a big satis-
faction at the end: a villa in Leffe - in the
province of Bergamo – whose foundations
respect the biocompatibility and energy
saving. Seven years ago our clients decided
to demolish a four-floor building built in
the Sixties, giving up a remarkable volume
to arise a one-level 300-square-metre
house: big scale, but definitely limited than
the previous one.
The energy saving, living wellness and en-
vironmental sustainability criteria strong-
ly encouraged the project of demolition
and reconstruction, managed by the archi-
tects Luigina Bianchi and Vittorio Cereda.
For this reason, the two experts and their
clients decided to comply with the stand-
ards of ClimateHouse energy efficiency
certifications, the agency collaborating
with Fiemme 3000. Because when people
speak about healthiness, actions not
words count. In our company, situated in
Predazzo, each raw material and each
working phase are 100% biocompatible-
certified and guaranteed. Fiemme 3000
assures that all products are the result of a
research, control and realization fulfilled
with the best technologies and top-quality
materials. We supervise our manufactur-
ing process to continuously improve the
environmental performances – pollution
and wastefulness abatement – as well as
guaranteeing a reliable and complete ser-
vice, such as the delivery, customer care,
laying and maintenance.

4 The strong versatility of the wood, enhanced by the particular features of Re Bianco, gives the location a sense of lightness, cleanness and airiness.
5 / 6 A healthy home is always a better home. Our conviction is perfectly respected in the large living room and open-plan kitchen, where the floor interacts with the ceiling covering, both Fiemme 3000 branded.
7 The hallway connecting the living and the sleeping areas is of great impact and Boschi di Fiemme, overlooking the green garden outside, looks like its natural continuation.
8 An island of warm-hearted hospitality – the owners decided not to separate kitchen, living room and dining room to highlight their distinctive choice.

WHICH WERE YOUR CLIENTS' TARGETS?
Creating a functional and welcoming house, with unique and real features able to
make it beautiful. A dwelling that could mirror the future inhabitants' ethics, an es-
sential instrument for their sense of belonging. To achieve their goal we needed a
common knowledge, growth, research, comparison and accurate verification of the
quality of each material specifically selected, in this case, for the surface.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE GENTLE AND SOLID ESSENCE RE BIANCO OF FIEMME 3000?
Its visual softness moved my clients and the designers. Then, its material qualities:
the intrinsic features of such a material, natural par excellence, stand out thanks to
the original working of its surface. The light, seeped in from the giant glass walls,
overwhelms the irregular features of the material and gets a rarefied perception. We
need to touch the material and to combine it with practicality and easy mainte-
nance, two key factors that our clients required. Therefore, as we had always done
before choosing any element for the harmony of this house, when we visited the
company in Val di Fiemme our clients, the designers and I could experience a slow
acquaintance and common awareness of the product. And we could get familiar
with the professionalism of our reference performer Dall'Ava Concept, a Fiemme
3000 Official.
WOOD FOR THE FLOORS AND WOOD FOR SOME COVERINGS. WHY?
The added value performed by the continuity of the material on the surfaces of the
wall in the cosiest part of the house (the main wing) let us envelop and visually pro-
tect the inhabitants. The high-quality of the building envelope, class A+ in compli-
ance with the ClimateHouse protocol, and the living comfort was already guaran-
teed. The wooden covering also offered the visual perception, the so-called
“emotional comfort”.
WOULD YOU CHANGE ANYTHING OF THE PROJECT IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME?
The choices I made do convince me. I believe in my clients' positive feedback and in
their satisfaction living in that “factory” with its architectural qualities, which is a
perpetually evolving organism where works of art and design liven up its interior
part, always finding their best collocation but modifying its perception. It seems we
achieved the goal of creating a house capable of combining clean layouts in living
warmth, functionalities and comfort.

Since 1989 he has been regis-

the Register of Treviso. In his
career, he has accomplished
numerous considerable as-

other welcoming spaces. Passing the main
door, the successful combination between
tradition and modern times immediately
seduces the visitors.
The contemporary elements mostly char-
acterize the offices with large glass walls
appraising the wide spaces and the warm
colour of the floors. In the guest apart-
ments, Fiemme 3000 floors again to re-
mark how tradition accompanies the
charming furniture. The union between
the past and the present distinguishes it-
self in the extraordinary reception room:
the elegant and traditional chandelier
made in Murano, a background of covering
woods that the sandblasting could renew,
a crystal small table, snow-white contem-
porary sofas with the golden family coat.
A never-ending exchange between the
past and modern life, ennobled by the har-
monious presence of Fiemme 3000 wood.
UNTOUCHED BEAUTY, HARMONIOUS SEQUENCE COMING FROM THE RESPECT OF TIME
1 The contrast between the modern use of this ancient building, model of the late nineteenth century's rural architecture, is intensified: the offices look elegant, rich in memories and very functional at the same time.
2 / 3 For Fiemme 3000, beauty also means resistance, because a floor must keep in shape over the years. The tree-crossed-layer solid structure of Fiemme 3000 boards warrants an incredible dimensional stability, an increased flexibility and a great resistance to twisting and warping.

IN THE NAME OF RESPECT
When Armando Guizzo speaks,
a brilliant enthusiasm
for his two big passions – wine and architec-
ture – transpires. He succeeded in combining
his two passions in the Agricultural Society
Giusti Dal Col, of which he is responsible,
projector and manager for the renovation
and restoration of the head office.
The main protagonist of his project – fo-
cused on “respect”, as the architect Guiz-
zo strongly underlines – is the wood of
Val di Fiemme.
This homage to nature takes shape in the
grains of the series Boschi di Fiemme, in
particular in the knotty essence Rotondo
– seasoned, hand-bevelled working, float-
ing laying, therefore completely eco-
friendly – laid in the 380 square meters of
the premises. A very original choice: mas-
sive and leading boards, the biggest ones.
They are five metres long and 28 centime-
tres wide. An uncommon decision, moti-
vated by their desire to bring out the best
from the grains and their large surface.
It was a 1,200-square-metre farmhouse on
two levels, and now it is surrounded by a
4,000-square-metre green area where, in
the middle, stands a centuries-old mul-
berry tree. They cultivate about 30-hectare
vineyards and produce an excellent Pro-
secco Doc.
The renovation works – that transformed
Case Sigismondi (the name of the late
nineteenth century's rural village indicated
in maps) into Case Rolando – modified the
first floor hosting offices, tasting room,

4 Lavish, refined and full. Rotondo is a natural oak enhanced in all its golden brightness by the neutral oiling, full of dazzling and infinite blonde nuances and amber-coloured flamings that flare from the chestnut brown knots.
5 The great adaptability of the essences of Fiemme 3000 ensures a perfect output both in the working spaces and in every area dedicated to the guests.
6 The tailor-made boards used for this building are five metres long and 28 centimetres wide. Solid and impressive: they make the flooring the main protagonist of the interiors.

WHEN YOU SPEAK ABOUT THE RENOVATION AND RESTORATION PROJECT OF THE HEAD OFFICE OF THE WINE COMPANY, YOU OFTEN USE THE WORD “RESPECT”. WHY?
The owner wanted to restore the facility giving value to the original typology
to keep and bring out the late nineteenth century's rural architecture. A minor
but fascinating architecture, because it perfectly matches with the surround-
ing environment. That's why I particularly love defining it as “respectful”.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO USE THE WOOD IN SUCH A DIVERSIFIED FACILITY, WITH SOME LOCATIONS DEDICATED TO THE WORK AND OTHERS TO THE RECEPTION?
To award homogeneity to the whole complex and to better stand out the aes-
thetic and long-lasting features of Fiemme 3000 wood.
DID THE FLOORS OF VAL DI FIEMME COMPLY WITH A SPECIAL ROLE?
A very special one, I dare say. The owner of the wine company and I were look-
ing for an essence treated with oils, not varnishes, characterized by its aged
aspect. This was our main and affectionate reason that brought us towards
Fiemme 3000. We selected a knotty oak of the series Boschi di Fiemme. This
essence managed to highlight both the more ancient and the more modern
part of the farmhouse, creating a joyful contrast with its contemporary furni-
ture.
WHICH WAS THE TOUGHEST CHALLENGE DURING THE WORKS?
In the past I had already carried on similar projects, but this one had a particu-
lar need: completing the works in seven months. A real race against the clock,
that we could win working up to 12 hours a day. On 1st June 2013 the works
started; on the 1st January 2014 the ancient farmhouse could open its doors to
the guests and show its new dress and its indoor store. A big satisfaction for
me, achieved thanks to the professionalism of our partners, like Fiemme 3000.

er as if it symbolically brings the wellness
upstairs. The client's passion for art and
culture has involved the interior design
and accessories: there is a chair marking
the modern design – an Eames Lounge
Chair made of plywood and leather in the
Sixties –, then some art deco sculptures
made of bronze, stylised books to deco-
rate the walls and no classic baseboard.
This latter decision goes against the flow,
but proves that sometimes real luxury lies
in moderation. In the living area, the at-
tention is captured by a suspended fire-
place made of iron – a wonderful conical
form in a central position, as if to counter-
balance the soft nuances of the floors.
The integration of contemporary traits
with the chromatic mellowness of the
oak brings out a one-off harmony and
balance.
CHARMING APPEARANCES IN WELCOMING AND LIGHT PLACES ON THE TRAILS OF AN ORIGINAL MODERNITY
1 The atmosphere of this renovated ancient farm building is well expressed by the floors and the internal staircase of Boschi di Fiemme.
2 / 3 One of the qualities that the client required was resistant materials. Of course floors undergo several stresses, but the surface must successfully and always cope with them. Fiemme 3000 floors manage to, also thanks to the six steps of the oiling process.
4 The oak shows its most modern grains, the art and design masterpieces, together with the innovative concept of the design, perfectly espouse Fiemme 3000's essence Platino.

and known places of Veneto. Here, the ec-

huge renovation project of an ancient farm
building. The client had immediately asked
him to focus on Fiemme 3000 floors,
therefore they chose the knot-free essence
Platino, from Boschi di Fiemme series fin-
ished with its saw-cutting working. The

more than 20 years all these features have

like water and humidity do not ruin the
wood, but contribute to give it gently an

THIS FARMHOUSE HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED...
We have totally restored the farm building, from top to bottom, but without
distorting its soul and its birthplace: the hills of Asolo. A very demanding pro-
ject - the works delayed for two years – but the result is outstanding also
thanks to our client who could demonstrate his culture, preparation and taste.
Without these talents of his, this outcome was impossible.
ONE OF THE BACKBONES THE CLIENT ESTABLISHED BEFORE THE RENOVATION WORKS WAS FIEMME 3000 AND THEIR FLOORS. DID YOU AGREE WITH HIM?
Absolutely. Fiemme 3000 was one of my client's intense decision, in fact these
floors lay in the whole surface in order to give homogeneity to the locations. A
successful choice. I knew the fame of this company, but after having touched
the oak to be used in this renovation project, I was really impressed: the beau-
ty of the wood, the quality of the material and workings, as well as the ex-
tremely natural effect, were astonishing. Moreover, they were perfect for our
purpose: an ideal combination with the surrounding environment.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE SAW-CUTTING WORKING?
For its hard aspect and high resistance it gives to the wood. Through today's
techniques, the saw cutting recreates the cutting unrefined effect of a real
saw. This working is very soft to the touch, increases the strength of the mate-
rial and confuses the signs of time making them precious symbols.
WHICH IS THE DISTINCTIVE ELEMENT OF THE RENOVATION?
Undoubtedly the entrance: from the hall you have a horizontal and vertical
view of the house. Moreover, from this point you can also look at the rafters
contrasting with the black material used for the ceiling. Generally speaking, the
project says that “less is more elegant”, the luxury of making decisions inspired
by an only apparent poverty.

the three floors. Then, in the lift and it

The boards, that Fiemme 3000 exclusively
realized for the owner, have a higher thick-

fully enhance the large spaces of the
house and to develop the chromatic nu-
ances of the oak. The light enters from the
wide glass walls, caresses the wood and
forms an imaginary bridge between the
life indoor and the woods outdoor, to cre-

3 The massive boards belong to Fuori Serie collection, a real project created to perform the best custom-tailoring of our product, according to the client's preference: colours, workings, length and width. For his house, the client chose both the particular tonality of the oak and its thickness.

JEWEL OF LIFE
In the future – hopefully, at least – all
houses will be likely follow similar
criteria. While waiting, visiting the engi-
neer Mauro Croce's dwelling will make you
a leap forward to discover the thousands
of aspects and resources of a “naturally
smart” house. From the desk of his green
building office, the owner wanted to trans-
fer this concept into his house built in
Moena, not by chance. An enchanted vil-
lage in the Alps, surrounded by some of
the most evocative mountain groups of
the Dolomites, like Catinaccio, Monzoni
and Latemar and by the green layers of
Costalunga. Some years ago, Moena be-
came part of the Alpine Pearls, a commu-
nity of villages promoting the eco-sustain-
able and quality tourism – the best place
for a villa built in compliance with the se-
vere ClimateHouse criteria and based on
an extensive use of home automation and
on the aesthetic and healthy qualities of
the wood of the near Val di Fiemme. «We
can easily state it is unique», said Croce,
very satisfied. For what concerns the ener-
getic aspect, this house is completely inde-
pendent: it produces the energy it needs,
energy used in the large wellness area and
in the gym, too: «The annual expenses and
the CO2 emissions are zero, thanks to the
absence of chimneys». Hence, it is a “na-
ture-house” where sustainability and bio-
compatibility dictate the guidelines of the
interior architecture. One is the flooring of
Fiemme 3000. The exclusive essence that
fascinated the owner is a knotty oak of the

7 / 8 Great attention to biocompatibility. The BioPlus treatment does not emit Voc – a danger for the ozone layer. Thanks to the open-pore finishing, the wood does not become a dangerous source of toxic emissions. It hinders the static discharges and improves the thermal efficiency of the locations.

AN UNUSUAL COMBINATION BETWEEN HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND NATURALNESS OF WOOD...
The essences of Val di Fiemme faithfully respect, better said, personify the
idea of living in a healthy way, which is the guiding concept of this planning.
We took the good from nature and make it “live again” indoor. From this point
of view, Fiemme 3000 offers the best and we selected the oak for its resist-
ance and duration. Moreover, the collection Fuori Serie can be easily personal-
ized. We asked the company for a new nuance, by inserting the grey to con-
trast the yellow shades that the oak can get over the years.
SO YOU BELIEVE IN THE IMPORTANCE OF COLLABORATING WITH COMPANIES PROPOSING “CUSTOM” PRODUCTS, DON'T YOU?
Exactly. It's a key element, especially in considerable projects like this one, the
only way to completely satisfy the needs of a careful client. Also thanks to the
collaboration with top-level and very professional partners, like Fiemme 3000,
we can have new sparks and original ideas.
HOW DO YOU JUDGE THE FINAL RESULT?
As a technician, I can say the result is excellent. But the most extraordinary
aspect of this house is that, besides being “polished”, it is an “alive organism”,
designed to portray its inhabitants. In this case, I think we broadly achieved our
goal.
BIOCOMPATIBYLITY MEANS HOME AUTOMATION AND STRICT CRITERIA. FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF AN ARCHITECT, WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT?
The arrangement of the spaces presenting a more heartfelt area and a public
one, where they can welcome their guests. We united two building bodies,
which now represent the entrance area. We created a mix of traditions and
contemporaneity, that you can notice in the larch wood used outdoor.

treatment is a mix of more than 50 veg-
etable and mineral substances that nour-
ish the deepest structure of the wood,
without clogging its pores but restoring its
self-protective capabilities that it loses
during the working process.
History and modernity live together in this
cottage, giving life to a delicate balance
both in the structure and in the pieces of
furniture, like the very modern classic-
style red varnished chest of drawers made
of tulip tree, that the wood can bring out
to live a sort of visual and sensory experi-
ence. Their love for traditions is also clear
in the restoration of ancient materials,
saved from the oblivion and it does its
best in the staircase leading to the turret
built in the eighteenth century and made
of the oak originally used for the beams. A
twine of history and wellness that begins
outdoor, in the huge green park, where the
swimming-pool and the very ancient grove
of acacia trees welcome all visitors.
AN AUTHENTIC RURAL BUILDING BETWEEN WHOLESOMENESS AND STYLISH GRANDEURS
1 The historical memory of this ancient cottage gets along with the modern nature of the recent renovation and planning. In the picture, the classic-style red varnished chest of drawers made of tulip tree is beautified by the tones of Fior d'Oliva of Fiemme 3000.
2 / 3 A Fior di Fiemme floor is like a Stradivari musical instrument: a precious wood that, when managed by special men, gets an extraordinary masterpiece to enter everyday living life.

THE ELM'S BREATHING
J umping back into the past. Giacomo
Gioacchini and Francesca Maccioni's cot-
tage unites the love for history to the beauty
of a very panoramic place. Cingoli, the “bal-
cony” of Marche, one of the most beauti-
ful villages in Italy. Here lies this ancient
house that keeps and tells episodes dated
back at the fourteenth century. In those
years they built a convent, successfully
transformed into a cottage and, at the
end, when the current owners purchased it
three years ago, it became a splendid
300-square-metre two-storey dwelling.
Mrs. Maccioni is a designer, therefore she
was charged of the interior design of her
own house. To better bring out the differ-
ent ages' forms and materials, she wanted
the positive and warm nature of the wood.
The wood comes from Val di Fiemme; it's
the essence Fior d'Oliva of the series Fior di
Fiemme. A staircase made of steel sepa-
rates the ground floor from the first floor
and, in virtue of the chromatic contrast,
well highlights the warmth and brightness
of the wood. The colourful beauty of the
elm, a tree with ancient roots and an im-
portant past that also Catullus and Virgil
loved praising, is enhanced by the neutral
and natural oiling and creates a rainbow
of warm and brilliant nuances from the
very light blond colours of the hardest
grains, to the bronze and copper colours
with some olive-green traits of its tender-
est grains. A noble material with biocom-
patible and durable features that make it

THE SHAPE OF THOUGHT
THREE YEARS AGO YOU BOUGHT THIS COTTAGE TO TURN IT – THANKS TO PROJECT THAT YOU PLANNED ON YOUR OWN – INTO YOUR DREAM HOME. HOW DID YOU CHANGE ITS STRUCTURE?
We modified many different things. For instance, we renewed the turret
which was a dovecote. It had no ceiling, therefore we built one in order to
house the studio. We rebuilt the rest of the structure respecting the original
shapes and volumes.
THE WOOD IS ALMOST EVERYWHERE IN YOUR HOUSE, WHY?
We were looking for a material that could give life to warm and homey atmos-
pheres. We tried to condense the whole history and memories of this place
into the wood. No other material can better express that particular sense of
past life we didn't want to waste.
WHY GOING TO VAL DI FIEMME TO CHOOSE THE FLOORING?
Basically, for three reasons: the healthiness, beauty and duration of their
products. We were interested in a wood that, beyond its aesthetic qualities,
could be healthy. No doubts in turning to Fiemme 3000 and to the clear and
elegant nuances of the series Fior di Fiemme. We also thank the architect
Sara Franceschetti and Emanuele Capodaglio, the two reference people of the
Fiemme 3000 Official, Fratelli Simonetti.
IN THIS RENOVATION PROJECT THE SALVAGE OF ANCIENT MATERIALS IS QUITE ASTONISHING, AS YOU SUCCEEDED IN GIVING THEM A NEW LIFE...
We tried to keep whatever might recall the past and tell about the life of this
cottage. As well as the staircase leading to the turret, made of the oak they
used for the beams, we could recover some spruces dated back to the eight-
eenth century we used to create the pieces of furniture in the studio.

TWO ROADS DIVERGED IN A WOOD AND I TOOK THE ONE LESS TRAVELED BY
A sensory journey. Visiting the house in
Asiago designed by the architects Ben-

trail of the magic, potentiality and - why
not? - sensuality of wood. A living mate-
rial, that the working Fiemme 3000 have
made even more quivering and signifi-
cant. The wood is the big protagonist in
this recently built three-level detached
house.
The essence they selected is a knotty and
deeply brushed Re Bianco of the series
Boschi di Fiemme, laid on a 140-square-
metre surface and used for the 120 square
metres of coverings, walls, staircases, false
ceilings and accessories. The result is a
“biocompatible embrace” wrapping the
whole residence and allowing to hear and
almost touch the energy and warmth of
the wood, the soft and unmistakable
scent of the forest that, magically, enters
your home. In the bathrooms they wisely
used this material, also present in the con-
trol panels of the washbasins and around
the basin. In this such an intimate space,
you feel like walking barefoot – the floor
caresses your senses and let you discover
the pleasure of touching a “warm” and

WHAT KIND OF REACTIONS DID THIS WOOD-ORIENTED HOUSE ARISE?
Generally speaking, this wooden “casing” astonishes and moves you. At first
glance you may think that such a choice is heavy; then you feel contrary sensa-
tions, because only this material can make a space lighter and more homoge-
neous.
IS IT THE ADDED VALUE OF YOUR WORK?
The clients obtained this dwelling, but it was unfinished. We were focused on
the interior architecture and, even without involving the structure, it resulted
to be extremely important and noteworthy, especially for the predominance of
wood, used as “the only one” and fil rouge of the project itself.
IS SUCH A “PASSIONATE” USE OF THE WOOD A STYLE OF YOURS?
In part, yes it is. I really love wood, in particular the values that Fiemme 3000
essences can express, I mean, healthiness, duration and beauty. These floors
made in Trentino have given more greatness to the project and zest to the
spaces.
HOW WAS YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH FIEMME 3000?
I've known this company for a very long time. I think its innate traits are qual-
ity and professionalism. Quality stands for their top-level products, always the
ideal material for the final use. Professionalism stands for their entire produc-
tion chain, in particular for the layers, the cornerstone for the best success of

The country, the scents of nature and col-
ours. The sounds become clearer and more
potent. Here lies an ancient hayloft, now a
three-storey house. The surrounding land-
scape inspires the meditation, while indoor
you can wink to modernity and to the
needs of two parents with two little daugh-
ters. They were looking for convenience, for
a family-oriented house and for an unpol-

they chose the wood of Fiemme 3000, a
company that for over twenty years has

YOUR PROJECT CONTAINS A PARTICULAR STRUCTURAL, LIVING AND CULTURAL EVOLUTION...
Yes, this is indeed the case. First of all, a hayloft; then a dwelling with a trans-
fer of property and a change of needs. About 15 years ago I had planned the
restoration works of a ruin which was later converted into a house. Some years
ago, the first owners asked me to adapt these historical settings to satisfy
their needs, accounting of their two daughters.
IN THIS “ARRANGEMENT” YOU INCLUDED FIEMME 3000 FLOORS. WHY?
Primarily for their technical features, their duration, the extraordinary natural
qualities of this material and the biocompatibility of the woods. Without for-
getting the thousands of nuances and colourings and the several custom-tai-
lorings of the oak. This is what fascinated my clients and I at once.
WHAT WAS YOUR DESIGN INSPIRATION?
My client's requests. As the great Le Corbusier used to say, the house is a «too
important object to be put in one architect's hands». So, as any architect
should do, I followed their ideas filtering them through my studies and experi-
ence. Personally, I think it's good to dare: inserting contemporary elements in
structures with a very ancient past to tell.
ARE YOU SATISFIED WIH THE OUTCOME AND THE OUTPUT OF THE WOOD YOU CHOSE?
More than satisfied. I am enthusiastic and almost surprised. My clients hosted
me at a later date after the works and the resistance of Fiemme 3000 wood
almost shocked me. The quality and the aesthetic performance of this mate-
rial were perfect, absolutely not gone bad nor damaged. I would have noticed
it easily, thanks to the wide exposure to light.

tecture and music are his biggest
passions: the first is also his pro-
fession, while the latter is only a
hobby that accompanies him in
his studio, while he is working.
Recently, he has carried on an up-
grading of Palazzo Giacomelli, the
representative office of Unindus-
tria Treviso, the planning of the
new production site of Massimo
Zanetti Beverage Group, a hold-
ing of Segafredo in Treviso and
of the production site of Irinox in
Vittorio Veneto. Ciangalosi's stu-
dio is also realizing about twelve
houses and villas – one in Scot-
land and the other in Moscow.
THE ARCHITECT
GIUSEPPE CANGIALOSI
the music of architecture
booth hides the huge bed, where the dark
tones play with the predominant colours
of the house. What more impacts the in-
terior design of this dwelling is its concept:
spaces tending towards the infinite chas-
ing what hides behind the nearest door.
An emotional development going from
bottom to top and horizontally, as if the
rooms would duplicate. The merit goes
especially to the wood, the common ele-
ment that both the architect and the cli-
ent wanted, in order to create affinity,
contrasts and no interruptions. In the at-
tic, where the colour game is different be-
tween the unexpected grey bookcase and
the magnificent bathroom, where the sus-
pended design elements offer a set of vol-
umes designed to leave the most impor-
tant role to the oak of Fiemme 3000.
1 Material and architectural minimalism in the kitchen. The wood fires up and balances also the bearing plan. 100% natural, 100% biocompatible.
2 Argento stands for contemporary nature, an encounter between its modern colouring and the personality and warmth of the oak – a wood that gives off metallic vibrations and fascinating material sensations.
3 The indoors tell about elegance, accuracy and pure essential forms with a skilful touch given by the oak, whose soft nuances wrap also the private areas of the house.

SIMPLICITY AS A VALUE: THE SPACE BECOMES AN EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Who said that to find a quiet
place you need to reach an
isolated and remote place? At a short dis-
tance from the centre of Treviso, in a new
residential area, a house has turned into a
refuge able to slowly mark the rhythm of
everyday life, to sweetly cuddle the people
living in the house and to embody an un-
conventional lifestyle. Slow and elegant, a
microcosm developed in three floors con-
nected by a wooden staircase that perfectly
represents the style of the building – sim-
plicity conceived as a value, compared to
the frenzy and chaos of life outdoor. There-
fore, the design is essential, minimal, but
with tiny personal signs that the knotty and
saw-cutting Argento can bring out. It is laid
on the 120 square metres and belongs to
Boschi di Fiemme, the series able to show
the genuine nature of the material in all its
extraordinary class. A perfect expression
of the strength and beauty of Val di
Fiemme. The saw-cutting can accent the
knots, grains and chromatic nuances of the
oak and shape a very bright floor. Also the
features of the kitchen table, covered with
the same material in order to create an en-
semble between the room and its accesso-
ries, give a sense a tradition mixed with
modern style and mirror them in the corner
dedicated to welcoming the guests and
conviviality. Furthermore, in the kitchen,
the white enlarges spaces and light and
the gurgle of the river Piavesella that flows
not far from the house make the atmos-
phere much more evocative. A masonry

WHICH WERE YOUR GUIDELINES IN THIS PROJECT?
My clients had a very precise idea: a contemporary concept. They are two pro-
fessionals who often travel all around the world and didn't want the usual
conservation intervention, but a modern tendency, able to tell their experi-
ences. A very personal and unconventional way to conceive their own house.
IN FACT, THEY CHOSE THE WOOD. THE KNOTTY SAW-CUTTING ARGENTO OF THE SERIES BOSCHI DI FIEMME IS AN INNOVATIVE AND VERY ORIGINAL ESSENCE. WHY DID YOU SELECT IT?
We took in consideration many other essences, but at the end our first choice
prevailed. This working is very interesting, its waving surface is unique and
charming. We were looking for something memorable, that could give an over-
all added value to the house; therefore, we chose the wood as it mirrors the
three messages we wanted to pass – comfort, warmth and modernity. This
product, that also recalls some traditional elements, gives a hint of noblesse,
as if it was a texture or a prestigious carpet.
IS THE SUSTAINABILITY, A CONCEPT THAT FIEMME 3000 LOVE A LOT – ANOTHER ASPECT YOU CONSIDERED IN THIS PROJECT?
This building is supplied with a geothermal plant with probes extracting
warmth from the soil. Therefore, the sustainability is a cornerstone and noth-
ing could represent it in a better way than the wood. This one in particular as,
besides its aesthetic value, also includes the concept of recycling and renewing
as well as its technical unquestionable qualities. The product does not worsen:
it changes and gets more and more fashionable. It's an alive product to all ef-
fects.
THE DESIGN IS VERY ESSENTIAL: THE WOOD IS THE GREAT PROTAGONIST, ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO THE WHITE. A SIMPLICITY HIDING A BIG CARE...
The flooring is the basis, the frame. We love taking away rather than adding,
so we didn't want to burden the location with excessive colours and forms. We
thought that on a neutral floor we needed neutral colours and elements. The
volumes are seen as less as possible. What looks like detachment, actually
hides a moderate but clearly noticeable warmth, both indoor and outdoor.
A CHARMING REFUGE IN TOWN
Comfort, colour and modernity meet here. Common theme: Argento of Boschi di Fiemme
SIMPLICITY AS A VALUE: THE SPACE BECOMES AN EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
4 In the project, the staircase is the communicating element: made of Argento, it connects the two floors of the house and becomes its contemporary protagonist.
5 Spaces in relationships with others: the traditional apartment is reinvented. The nuances of Argento define the locations and create a harmonious and welcoming combination.
6 Fiemme 3000 wood is perfect in the bathroom, marked by a very modern sense of elegance and functionality caressing all senses.
