Linseed oil from the seeds of the flax plant, fibres from jute stems, rosin from pine trees and upcycled wood residues from controlled sustainable forestry as well as limestone and pigments, are the key materials from which Marmoleum is created.

The result is a natural floor covering that is also strong, durable and sustainable. Marmoleum is a unique offering in the world of resilient floor coverings.

In addition to being a natural product, our Marmoleum 2.5mm collection is the first Forbo product that can be truly described as being CO2 neutral to produce. In simple terms, the CO2 produced in the extraction, transportation and manufacturing processes of 2.5mm Marmoleum is balanced by the removal of CO2 through the growing of natural ingredients such as flax, jute and pine trees.

All our other Marmoleum ranges benefit from the sustainable raw materials that make up Marmoleum and as a result, Marmoleum 2.0mm has seen its global warming potential in the production phase of its lifecycle reduce by 25% since 2012.

Our claims can be verified in the Marmoleum (2.0 and 2.5 mm sheet) Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) which are third party verified.
