স্থানীয় ভানুলমদয বাফামফগ-লক লনদন ননদারুণ্ বামফ অমদানরত কযমত ক্ষভ ময়নছর ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛। তাঁমদয শ্রমদ্ধয় ভাষ্টাযভাআ-এয ম্মামন লনদন লগািা যাধানগয স্কুরপ্রাঙ্গণ্ লমন ঝরভর কময উমেনছর। প্রনত

ফছমযয ভমতা, ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛ একনি ঘমযায়া নুষ্ঠান কযমত লচময়নছর ভাত্র, নকন্তু লআ ঘমযায়া

নুষ্ঠামনয লয ঘমযয চায লদয়ামরয ফাঁধন লছমড় লগািা যাধানগয গ্রামভয ফৃত্তয জনভনষ্টয কামছ ‚এমা

Study Tour VI report from Bankura

It was 22nd

August 2009, a study trip to Sonamukhi (in the district of Bankura) had given us a chance to meet our beneficiaries Anna Dhibar and Saurav Dutta. At first we visited Sonamukhi BJ High School where Anna & Saurav studies. Most of the students

studying in this school belong to poverty-stricken

families. The headmaster of the school, Mr.

Manoranjan Chongre spent a lot of time with us. He

described us about the school and we roamed

around the school to see their laboratory & library

facilities. He said that there was no hostel facility for

SC/ST students till then. When we talked about to

arrange a medical camp there at the school, Mr.

Chongre gave us full assurance to cooperate with us.

We noticed that there was a Vocational Training

Center inside the school and it really works for the

economically under-developed people of that

location.

Anna Dhibar: We met this little sweet girl (Medha beneficiary

2008-10) at her old dilapidated house. She has two elder sisters

(both married), one elder brother and her parents in the family.

Her father is unable to do any kind of job due to permanent

illness. Brother Swapan sales fish in local market at morning

and studies Bachelor of Arts at night in Sonamukhi College. He

is the one & only earning member of that family. Anna was

studying at Sonamukhi BJ High School in Humanities

department at eleventh standard at the time of our visit. Her

two elder sisters could not pursue education because of poor

economical condition. They were married at young age. Maina

Devi, mother of Anna said, "We wish Anna should continue her

studies but don't know whether that will be feasible because of

our poverty". She sighed.

Anna had no private tutor and her elder brother used to guide her. But

one of her subjects was computer science, which she found quite difficult.

Anna wants to become a teacher or a nurse. She spends her time studying

at school but she has to do lots of household duties too. Anna's mother

told that Anna loves stitch-work. Anna's family holds APL card. They don't

have BPL card as they don't know about it though they have a monthly

income of paltry twelve hundred rupees.

Saurav Dutta: Saurav took us to his house from his school. Saurav's house is

quite old and he lives in a joint family. They have a grocery store and the

entire family of ten members is financially dependent on this small shop.

They have an income of four thousand rupees from it. Saurav would appear

for higher secondary examination in 2010 and he wishes to appear for joint

entrance examination too. Saurav has a busy schedule comprising of school,

daily tuition and joint entrance coaching. Since Saurav belongs to the

Community Development scheme under "Medha Project" (beneficiary 2008-

10) of EKK (he gets a small monthly allowance), he is assigned to provide

tuition to his junior students from his community, if he at all gets time from

his busy schedule. Saurav wants to become Electrical Engineer or wants to

pursue higher studies in Mathematics or Physics. If any medical awareness

camp is conducted in his school by EKK, he wants to participate actively. In

future he is willing to join EKK.

a memorable association

29th

January 2010 was a very special day to Eso Kichu Kori. We, in

association with ‘Gandhar’ theatre group organized their well

celebrated production “Kachher Manush” at Madhusudan Mancha

from 6:30 pm onwards. This initiative was well thought for the fund

raising purpose to meet the expenditures of our “Medha” and “Sopan”

projects. The play was engrossing with fascinating acting by Debsankar

Halder and Bijaylakshmi Barman.

লতভনন ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛ ফহু দনযদ্র লভধাফী ছামত্রয জীফমন ননঃীভ ন্ধকাময এক ঝরক অায অমরা, ননভনিতপ্রায় ফস্থায় খড়কুমিা ধময লফঁমচ োয অশ্বা। ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛ মনক ছাত্রছাত্রীয নননিত বনফলযতমক ননিয়তায ফন্ধমন লফঁমধ লদয়।

একাদ লশ্রণ্ীমত ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛-য াামময অভায প্রবূত উকায ময়মছ। ভাধযনভমকয য একাদ লশ্রণ্ীমত অমযা অত্মনফশ্বা ননময় ড়ামানা কমযনছ। অয লিাআ দ্বাদ লশ্রণ্ীমত চানরময় মাফ। দ্বাদ লশ্রণ্ীমত ‘লভধা’ প্রকমেয াাময ায়ায জনয অনভ ননমজমক ধনয ভমন কযনছ।

গ্রাভফাংরায বাফী নযমফ লথমক লভধাফী ছাত্রছাত্রীমদয বনফলযমত প্রনতনষ্ঠত কযায লম দভয প্রয়া ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛ কযমছ তা ননঃমদম প্রংনীয়। অয হৃদয় ফযনক্ত প্রনতনষ্ঠত ছাত্রছাত্রীযা ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛ ংস্থায় লমাগ নদমর এফং অয মনক ছাত্রছাত্রী ‘লভধা’ ‘লাান’ প্রকমেয াাময লমর ‚এমা নকছু কনয‛-য কভিমক্ষত্র ুদূয নফস্তৃত ময় কমরয হৃদয় জয় কময লনমফ।

COLUMN FROM ABROAD

I believe, inside every human being there is a very soft and emotional heart which

wants to do well to others. At EKK we meet to indulge and appreciate that saner part

of our senses. From here we get to know about people who struggle to earn one meal

a day - we learn not to waste food. We meet people who cannot afford to go to school

and get educated even when they are highly talented to deserve that - we feel like

standing beside them and helping them out.

After I became a part of EKK, I became a more matured person. I saw that real world is way too ugly to be a land of fairy tales and at the same time I realised, if we all put a combined effort together, we can surely make this better.

Coming to this part of the globe, I understood that

why they call it a developed nation. Here the country

or the state takes responsibility of food, cloth and

education for every child - if the parents are not

capable to do so. Here people appreciate helping a

child, they keep on putting constant efforts to make

others realize as well. I think this is what we lack in

our country.

In India, all the hard works done to help the nation is mainly very individualistic or may be restricted to small teams. I really dream to see my dear country as one of the bests in the world - excelling in every respect. For that, we need to ensure proper education for the kids, who are the future of the nation. And, in order to achieve that we need to proactively do whatever we can in this regard. At EKK, we are trying exactly that and we need a lot of support to keep this sincere effort going on.

So, I would take this opportunity to request you all, who are reading this article, to

come forward and be a part of this movement - for the sake of a better nation, a better

India and a better world all together. Please try to help who needs you; you will feel a

lot better at the end of the day. Come, let us try to change it for better - Come, let us
