A PERFECT FIT

When you are professionally fitted with a bra, it can make you feel elegant and confident, it makes your clothes fit better and you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. It’s this ethos of personal service that Bras N Things prides itself on. We chatted to Caitlin Jones about all things lingerie.

What’s your background?

I live in Baldivis and I used to work as a hairdresser. I really wanted to work in a more fast-paced environment and Bras N Things has been the perfect move for me. We take care of the customer, which I am really passionate about, and I love the product!

What do you love about Bras N Things?

Every day is different. When you help someone find that perfect bra, or help a boyfriend pick out a really beautiful present, it feels like you’re making a difference, even if it’s in a small way.

What’s the Bras N Things point of difference?

It’s all about the customer. Our catch phrase is, "It’s always about her, always". All the staff are qualified bra fitting specialists, which sets us apart from other retail stores. Our aim is to make you feel special.

Describe Bras N Things in 3 words.

On-trend, feminine, welcoming.

It’s not your average alterations shop. Behind the counter of the local LookSmart is a man with an inspirational tale of success. Bashir Ahmadyar, who was born in Afghanistan, didn’t go to school. Instead he followed in his older brother’s footsteps and trained to be a tailor. After 13 years in the industry, Bashir moved to Australia to learn English and create a better life for himself. This is his story.

Tell us about how you became the owner of a LookSmart shop.My first job in Australia was in a fashion shop. Then I got a job working in a LookSmart store for about three years. I left to study community service and started working at Communicare where my job was to help refugees apply for offshore visas. After three years I had an offer to buy this LookSmart, so I decided to take it and I haven’t looked back!

What does LookSmart pride itself on?We take pride in our customer service, quality of clothing alterations and speed of service. We can extend the life of your garments, update your wardrobe by restyling, and shorten pants or jeans in an hour.

How would you describe LookSmart? We enjoy making our customers look smart, when they are happy, we are happy. The atmosphere in our shop is always positive, friendly and buzzing. We enjoy what we do and put a lot of effort and attention to detail in our work, which keeps our customers coming back.

Tell us something we might not know about you.In 2011, I came third in a national sewing competition for the fastest alterations, including pinning.

LOOKSMART ALTERATIONSMAKING DREAMS COME TRUE

It’s a beauty lover’s dream. The latest make-up trends straight from the catwalk, all in one spot. Terry White Mandurah East offers one of WA’s premier Napoleon Perdis outlets. Whether you’re after the latest hot pink shade of lipstick or advice on which concealer is right for you, the girls at Terry White are here to help. Kaylee shares her story.

We hear you’ve been trained by Napoleon Perdis, the famous man himself - what is he like?

I was lucky enough to attend an exclusive Masterclass, which was run by Napoleon. They call him the King of Colour. It was really surreal, and he was so gracious and lovely!

How has the training helped you?

I have learnt first-hand the latest runway trends, plus expert artistry tips and tricks. It’s not often you get access to someone

who is so well respected and such a leader when it comes to beauty trends. I am excited to be sharing it with our Napoleon Perdis customers.

What’s the Terry White East point of difference?

Whether you’re after a fresh new look or want expert advice on what products to use for a special occasion, you can be confident in knowing you are in the best hands possible.
