Collision TechnologyIn this course students will learn both theory and hands-on practice in the auto body repair field which will include repair of automotive bodies, frames, unitized bodies, refinishing, detailing and estimating. After completion of this course students should be able to gain employment at an entry-level position in the auto body trade. The Nocti exam will be given at the completion of the program and students will receive a certificate of completion for this exam. After two years of work experience, students will be able to become ASE certified by passing the ASE exam.$1,000Mon. & Wed., Jan. 7 – Apr. 295:30–9:30 pm

Construction Technology Programs

Rough Framing IThis course will cover the basics of residential construction. Students will be trained in safety and proper use of both hand and power tools. The hands-on portion of the class will include the construction of a 10’ x 10’ building, complete with windows, doors and exterior finishes. Classroom instruction will cover material, material estimation, basic roof framing and safety.$299Tues., Jan. 13 – May 56:30–9:30 pm

Rough Framing IIThis course covers advanced carpentry techniques in framing, including layout techniques, wall, roof theory, stair building and planning for windows and doors. Following classroom instruction in carpentry math, materials estimation and codes, students have the opportunity to employ their carpentry skills by building both group and individual projects as well as building a two-story structure. Teamwork, workplace ethics, craftsmanship and punctuality are emphasized in the practical portion of the course.$299Thur., Jan. 8 – April 236:30–9:30 pm

Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification/EPA CertificationThis program runs five nights a week and is for HVAC technicians seeking Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant recovery. The curriculum follows the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) and Ferris State University (FSU) Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Programs for HVACR technicians. Topics include refrigerant chemistry and applications (blends, fractionation, temperature glide, etc.), refrigerant oils and application (properties, groups, additives, etc.), ozone depletion and global warming. A working knowledge of refrigeration theory and components is an asset for this course. Certification exam will be given during last class. Culinary ArtsBaking and Pastry ArtsStudents will be trained and become proficient in basic and advanced level dough work and cakes. Upon completion of the program students will possess the knowledge and skills for a variety of entry-level positions in the pastry arts field. The course will consist of the following: breads, sweet dough, cinnamon buns, coffee-cake, Danish, puff pastry, carrot cake, German chocolate cake, Italian cream cake, sponge and angel food cakes, cream puffs and eclairs.$999Mon. & Tues., Jan. 12 – May 115–9 pm

Culinary ArtsThe second half of this program will be more in-depth and students will learn the competencies necessary to be an employee in the culinary field. Students will be introduced to more topics including poultry, meat, seafood cookery, international flavor principles, and food presentation. Students will learn how to use different cooking techniques to prepare a variety of foods. Central to this Culinary Arts program are the highly intensive hands-on, interactive cooking experiences where students are directed to a wide range of food preparation from stocks, sauces and soups to entrees with side dishes. General housekeeping and equipment operation skills necessary to any commercially run venture are also part of this curricula. After completing this program, students will be prepared to work with confidence in the culinary arts field. Career PlanningRowan College at Gloucester County’s Plus 50 Encore Completion program offers career planning services specifically for individuals who are at least 50 years of age and older. Located on campus, the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center maintains a number of resources to help individuals with resume writing, interviewing, dressing for success, navigating the job hunt, selecting academic majors and more. Entrepreneurial Certificate ProgramRowan College at Gloucester County, in conjunction with the Rutgers University New Jersey Small Business Development Center, is pleased to offer the Entrepreneurial Certificate program. Its coursework gives entrepreneurs and small business owners the knowledge and skills they need to successfully start and run an enterprise. Students who complete this program receive a professional development certificate issued by both Rowan College and Rutgers University– Camden. Forklift Operator Training This course, offered in partnership with Smith and Solomon, provides forklift operator training that is OSHA compliant (1910.178). Students learn to properly and safely operate a lift truck. Upon successful completion, students are evaluated on three pieces of equipment and, if successful, will earn their certification. Gloucester County Fire Academy Firefighter I In conjunction with the Gloucester County Fire Academy, the Division of Continuing Education provides additional training via the Firefighter I course. Certified by the state of New Jersey, this course conveys National Fire Protection Standard 1001 regulations. Allergen Awareness for Food ProcessorsConsumers are becoming more aware of allergens in the products they buy. To meet their needs and prevent costly product recalls, food processors must take extra steps to label, store and control ingredients in edibles that contain allergens. HACCP Certification This two-and-a-half day course explains how to write Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans and conduct annual reassessments. Patient Care TechnicianThe healthcare industry is currently undergoing major changes in the manner in which patient care is provided. These changes have resulted in the introduction of a new category of healthcare worker trained to perform a variety of patient care services. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)The CCMA certificate program is designed to educate students through classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction to become medical assistants capable of performing a variety of tasks to maintain efficiency in the health care environment. Responsibilities of a medical assistant include taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination and assisting physicians in various procedures, recording ECG/EKG and performing phlebotomy procedures. Upon completion of this certificate program students will be eligible to take the National Health Career Association (NHA) certificate exam, which qualifies them for positions as medical assistants and/or multi-skilled ECG/EKG or phlebotomy technicians. Phlebotomy TechnicianAccording to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for clinical lab technicians, including phlebotomy, are expected to grow by 14 percent between 2006 and 2016. Phlebotomy technicians collect blood for medical examinations and are also skilled in handling, transporting and processing blood specimens. Upon completion of this course, students are eligible to take the Phlebotomy Certification Exam through the National Health Career Association (NHA). This course is designed to instruct students in all aspects of phlebotomy training including collecting, transporting, handling and processing blood specimens for analysis while adhering to all aspects of quality control and infection control safety policies. Classroom instruction is provided in conjunction with lab experience, followed by approximately a 40-hour clinical rotation. Upon enrollment to this course, students will be required to meet CPR, criminal history and health requirements as specified in the Health Packet. Workforce Learning Link The Workforce Learning Link is a program developed by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development to provide adult learners with instruction in reading, mathematics, computer skills, communication, English language skills, HSE preparation, financial literacy and employability skills. The goal of the program is to increase participants’ overall readiness to enter the workforce. Services offered at the Workforce Learning Links are funded by the Gloucester County Workforce Investment Board and the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Services at the Workforce Learning Links are available free of charge to help Gloucester County residents enhance their skills that are needed to compete in today’s labor market.

Prepare to take the new high school equivalency exam, Test Assessing High School Completion (TASC) at the Continuing Education Center of Rowan College at Gloucester County.

High School Equivalency TestingThe Test Assessing High School Completion (TASC) is national high school equivalency assessment that tests five subject areas including Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. A New Jersey High School Diploma will be awarded by the New Jersey Department of Education solely on the basis of successful test scores in the five academic areas: reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

EligibilityThe TASC test can be administered to candidates who are: • At least 16 years of age * • Not currently enrolled in high school • A resident of New Jersey

* Anyone who is younger than 18 must complete and submit a Certificate of Non-Enrollment form. Certificate of Non-Enrollment forms are available at the local high schools. Candidates 16–17 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (with proper ID).

8 am–5 pm Monday – Friday at the Continuing Education Center 1492 Tanyard Rd., Sewell NJ 08080

• Must possess and present a Social Security card and a valid New Jersey driver’s license with a photo or a county issued ID with an address.

• Must register at least one week before the test date

Cost $92 for the initial test $10.40 for the each retestFees can be paid by credit/debit card or money order.

Who May EnrollRowan College’s non-credit courses are open to everyone 18 years and older (unless otherwise noted).Parents or guardians wishing to register students under 18 years of age must contact the Continuing Education Staff for information on the process. Classes for children are open to the ages noted in each course description.

Classes Fill Fast!Registration is accepted until classes are full. Register as early as possible to guarantee enrollment. We recommend that you register at least two weeks prior to the course start date. Registration is on a first-come basis. No registrations are accepted without payment. All course and event listings are accurate as of date of publication. Some information may be subject to change.

Class Waiting ListIf a class is full, place your name on the waiting list by calling Registration at 856-415-2216. When a new section of a class is added during the semester or a space becomes available, students on the wait list are contacted first and given an opportunity to register.

Tuition and FeesAll course fees are required at the time of registration. No cash payments are accepted. RCGC will invoice your organization/company if your registration is accompanied by official paperwork which, includes authorization signatures, PO number and billing address. There is a $35 charge for all returned checks.

CancellationsAll courses are subject to cancellation. A full refund will be issued within three to four weeks.

ParkingCourse registrants must park in the student parking lots on the RCGC campus (Lots D and E). Special parking arrangements at the main campus can be made by calling 856-468-5000, Ext. 6287. Parking is available at GCIT and the Continuing Education Center for any classes scheduled at either location.

Class LocationsClasses are held at the Continuing Education Center, located at 1492 Tanyard Road in Sewell.Classes are also held on the main campus of the College, at Gloucester County Institute of Technology and at the Gloucester County Fire Academy. If your class is scheduled at another site, we will provide the address. Your class location information can be found on your registration confirmation. Directions to the various class locations can be found on our website at RCGC.edu/ce.

Emergency School ClosingsPlease check one of the following for information: RCGC.edu, KYW NewsRadio (1060 AM) or KYW1060.com. The cancellation code for day classes is 814. The code for evening classes is 2814.

Refund/Withdrawal PolicyWe will be happy to offer you a refund or apply payment to another class of your choice if you withdraw five business days prior to the start of a class. All refunds, unless the College cancels the class, will incur a $10 processing fee. If you wish to withdraw from a course or seminar, please notify the Division of Continuing Education in writing or in person immediately. Refunds will be made as follows:

• No refunds of fees or costs for any program of two or fewer class meetings will be issued once class begins.

• 100% refund five days prior to the first class meeting• 50% refund after the first class meeting• No refund after the second class meeting

Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL)The Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) is a membership organization that offers courses specifically designed for active adults, age 50+.

No refunds are given for yearly Academy for Lifelong Learning membership fees. Regarding classes, members must officially withdraw before class begins to receive a refund for the course fee. Otherwise, no refund will be given.

By Phone:Call 856-415-2216 between 8 am–4 pm, Monday through Friday. For your convenience, 24-hour credit card registration is available via a voice mail box at this number. VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted and the charge must be approved. Please have all credit card information available (type of card, account number, expiration date) and include your daytime phone number on the recording.

By Fax:Photocopy and complete the registration form on the next page and fax it, 24 hours a day, to 856-415-7974. You must use VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express as the form of payment.

In Person:Complete the registration form on the next page and bring it to the Continuing Education Center between 8 am–4 pm, Monday through Friday.
