With geographic context you are trying to establish why the events occurred in the place where they did.
You will need to give background on where the geographic area is, why it is important, and why events occurred there.

THE RISE OF CIVILIZATIONS
The geographic context for the rise of civilizations is they formed in fertile river valleys allowing for agriculture to take root, ending widespread hunter gathering and creating food stability and surpluses which caused population growth and provided trade goods. These factors led to the first civilizations forming around rivers (Tigris/Euphrates, Huang He, Indus, Nile) because they provided necessary resources for these civilizations to grow and flourish.
