personnel, the environment, and the public.● Our switchgear utilizes vacuum fault interrupter contacts in every load switching and fault interrupting

position for increased reliability and safety. Vacuum fault interrupter contacts are safer because they are fully rated for 600 amp load switching as well as fault interrupting and fault closing. Other manufacturers’ load break switches offer no fault interruption capabilities and ten or less fault closing operations in the lifetime of the equipment.

● Our products contain no flammable insulating fluids of any kind, and thus present no risk of explosion, fire or scalding from hot fluids. Moreover, our switchgear does not require fluid sampling, testing, replacement, and reporting as do other fluids, and presents no risk of leakage and/or hazardous clean up and reporting to the EPA.

● Our products contain no SF6 gas which is the EPA’s number one greenhouse gas. SF6, and its highly toxic by-products, also present a risk to human health. Without SF6, our products present no risk of leakage, require no outages to repair and fill leaking equipment, require no quarterly record keeping and reporting, and are safe for the environment and human health.

● Our products require no maintenance. Our switchgear and enclosures are made of welded 304 stainless steel and are sealed from harsh underground environments which may include salt water, flooding, humidity, insects, wildlife, or other invasive elements that can cause non-sealed equipment to fail.

● In terms of ratings, our products can be applied to circuits ranging from 4kV to 27kV, with fault interrupting capabilities of 12.5kA, 16kA and 20kA symmetrical.

Automation, Protection and Communication: SEL Over-Current Relay PlatformsInnovative Switchgear includes a variety of SEL programmable, microprocessor over-current relays which are the foundation of our all-in-one automation, protection and communication platforms for Distribution Automation and SCADA applications. The SEL relays (currently including the SEL-751, SEL-451, SEL-487e) are full-featured relays which allow for control of motor operation, as well as communication of voltage and current through a variety of means, including radio, cellular modem, or fiber optics. SEL relays can quickly integrate into serial- or Ethernet-based communications with myriad protocols. Programming and downloading are achieved through a variety of options, depending upon the specific application.

Padmount – Double-sided

Innovative Switchgear’s solid-dielectric-in-air padmount switches and fault interrupters are compact, replicate the size and footprint of old air-insulated, oil-filled and SF6-filled switchgear, and yet contain no oil and no SF6. We replicate bushing patterns and phasing to make replacement easier. Our padmount switchgear features our visible open isolation point which, by a single handle in one operation, de-energizes isolates the circuit obviating the costly requirement to otherwise remove the cables from the switchgear before grounding. Our units come fully factory assembled, and provide thousands of maintenance-free load-break operations. Our tanks and enclosures are constructed of 304 stainless steel, are sealed and dead-front, and the enclosures come with a powdered coated paint finish which extends the life and appearance of the unit. Our switch tanks are submersible and fully-sealed, and not subject to moisture intrusion. Our single-sided gear saves space as it requires clearance on only one side, and all of our padmount switchgear is available with a variety of over-current protection and communications solutions.
