What is it?INSTRAN is a design and production project of a platform of on-line analysing equipment, which allows measuring one or more physical or chemical parameters in liquid samples, preferably aqueous.
Why?Taking into account the needs of the market, InstrumentaciónAnalítica decided to execute the instran project, which has improved the quality and the price of the on-line analysers developed so far.Combining the experience of the past 30 years, and having been told by our customers that there’s a need of a better product at a lower price, Instrumentación Analítica decided to make an attractive commercial reality out of this project.

A need of the market...
The control of water quality (a strategic resource in today's world), has become one of the fields with more activity worldwide. After automatic equipment of on-line measuring has been accepted during the recent years, a new need has appeared: measuring continuously in several streams to improve the control of processes related to water. This need requires that equipments are really affordable and therefore low cost in relation to the current price:
Make them cheaper and easier to maintain. That they are very reliable (no breakdown). That they have self-cleaning and auto-calibration systems.

Instrumentación Analítica as a PRODUCER
Since the foundation of InstrumentaciónAnalítica in the 80’s, one of our biggest challenges has been producing our own equipment. In the 80’s we had the capacity to develop our own laboratory equipment. In the middle 90’s the market required to develop on line diversifiers and we were able to satisfy this need of our customers. In late 2009, we evaluated very positively this first experiences in production and decided to face the ambitious instranon-line project with the necessary resources. … ya es una realidad

INSTRAN On-Line
Instran on-line is not only an analysing equipment:It is a platform, on which you can set different hardware and software options to achieve an analysing system that measures in the best conditions, taking into account:
The nature of the sampleThe type of measureThe measuring rangeThe cleanings and calibrations required.

INSTRAN On-Line
Powerful to do different and well-done functions.Flexible, easy to program in its different functions.Reliable. We’ve searched for strength and quality in its parts to prevent damageIt works with low volume of reagents for increased autonomy and reduced costs for consumables.Requires very little maintenanceEconomic. We’ve chosen parts that are easy to manufacture and assemble. Its modular system allows large-scale production what improves the final price. The customer only pays for the options he chooses to include.

B. Electronic module
It is the one containing the microprocessor "brain", which controls and regulates the whole equipment. It has a keyboard and a display that interacts with the user.It controls the whole fluid, dosage, selection and drainage systems. It communicates with the reactor module and performs all the sensors measures (ion selective electrodes, photometers and temperature). It controls all electrical signals for inputs and outputs of the equipment. The stepper motor control of the dosing syringe. The 8 solenoid valve selection of fluids. The communication with the reactor module which has its own electronics, but which is servant of the main module.

Programming and memory
The microprocessor is a last generation system with an internal program (firmware) that is upgradable via mini USB port or microSD external memory. To promote an easy programming of the analysis, a high-level programming language has been developed, which allows modifying all sequences and factors in each measurement cycle. This program can also be loaded through the miniUSB port and the microSD card. The equipment registers the last 64 analysis, 16 calibrations and 32 alarms or errors. These values can be seen on the screen withoutstopping the equipment and can also be saved on micro SD memory via the RS485 output.

B. Electronic module
Communications
The equipment includes two 4-20mA analogical outputs, separately configurable and galvanically isolatedOptionally, you can use an external 4-20 mA converter to PROFIBUS The equipment has a RS485 two-wire bus output. Every equipment can be configured with a number (node communication, 2 to 256) and activate or not a security checksum in its communications. The control module communicates with the outside through the RS 485 output with a proprietary communication protocol, detailed in the instruction manual, which allows starting analysis, calibration and cleaning, as well as receiving the results and consult the historical register of events.Optionally, the RS485 can use MOD-BUS protocol

Communications: Interface Menu
The equipment is very easy to use through a powerful user interface that is structured through a tree menu, which is accessible through the display of 8 lines of 20 characters.Menus can be configured in several languagesAt any time, the main menu shows data from the last analysis, the status of what it is doing, possible alarms and errors. The actions which execute non-reversible actions always ask for a second validation before executing.

B. Electronic module
Communications: additional inputs and outputs
The electronic module controls four relays, assignable per program and also through the keyboard configuration. These relays have three contacts (Common, NO and NC) and there are 3 contacts in the connexion terminal block. In addition to the inputs and outputs used in the equipment control, it also has:
Two digital inputs assigned to the option of detection of lack of sample and lack of reagents and which are connected when using these options.Five other free digital inputs, assignable through the analysis program to any circumstance needed. Two free digital outputs, assignable through the analysis program to any circumstance needed.

G. Accessories
A. Sample detector system. In the case of lack of sample the equipment stops and warns of the error. If the problem is solved, it continues with the programmed measure.
B. Lack of reagents detection system. If there’s lack of any reagent, the equipment stops and gives a warning signal, registering the alarm.
C. Fast-loop sampling system, with or without filter.D. The equipment sucks the sample, but when using the fast-loop, the
sample must have pressure for its circulation. If not, we can supply a circulation pump and control it with one of the equipment's digital output.
