After years of hosting customer networking events, this multinational independent investment bank and financial services company was struggling to organize the countless photos of employees and customers taken during the events. It was difficult and extremely time consuming to locate photos of specific people and events that were stored in various SharePoint folders. Their goal was to utilize the photos for marketing and communications and proposals as well as to analyze the interactions with their customers to better facilitate future networking activities
To help the client better manage their data (photos) and improve their marketing, Protiviti created a facial recognition application that uses the Microsoft Cognitive Services Face API. This solution learns the faces of employees as well as customers from professional headshot photos. The application scans the libraries of photos from employee and networking events. It then finds and tags the faces that it recognizes and identifies. A standard SharePoint search surfaces the names and companies of the identified people. By hovering over the photo, users can see basic information about that person with a link to their profile for more details.
