Injection Resin Anchors

The V.J. Technology Range

VJT has an injection resin system to satisfy every possible need of the construction industry.

Manufactured exclusively for VJT, the range consists of a high performance pure epoxy resin [HPE], a high performance vinylester resin [V420+ Hybrid] and an epoxy acrylate resin in standard and express cure versions [E410+ & EC410+].

The high performance VJT resins hold European Technical Approvals and European Technical Assessments for use in cracked and non-cracked concrete with threaded studs and rebar, seismic rating C2, Fire rating DIN EN 1363-1, NSF International standard for potable water use and environmental test certificates for VOC and LEED. These resins are supported by DesignFiX software.

What is an injection resin anchor?An injection resin consists of a cartridge with two separate components, which are mixed or blended on extrusion through a special mixing nozzle to create a resin mortar. An injection resin anchor provides a secure stress free anchorage for threaded rods, rebars and other steel elements. Injection resins are highly versatile as they offer the ability to vary the hole depth of an anchorage to increase load capacity. As there is no expansion, resin anchors can offer fixing solutions where traditional mechanical anchors cannot be used; such as applications where close edge and axial spacing are required.

VJT offer three resin formulations:HPEHPE is a high performance pure epoxy resin for use in cracked and non-cracked concrete. HPE is an easy to pump, free flowing, low odour, non-shrink resin with an extended cure time that makes it ideal for deep holes and flexible drill diameter to fixing element ratios. HPE is available in 385ml and 585ml side by side cartridges.

V420+ HybridV420+ Hybrid is a high performance fire rated vinylester resin for use in cracked and non-cracked concrete and other base materials. Suitable for anchoring studs and rebars. V420+ Hybrid is available in 420ml co-axial cartridges.

E410+ and EC410+E410+ and EC410+ are epoxy acrylate resins for general applications in non-cracked concrete. E410+ and EC410+ hold ETA’s for non-cracked concrete and masonry. EC410+ is a special “express cure” version for the winter months. E410+ and EC410+ are available in 410ml co-axial cartridges.

The graphic input tab shows an image of the fixing application. Load directions and numeric factors can be adjusted on this page. The image can be rotated to provide a better view of the application.

The calculation tab has a print preview option for reporting the results. The report includes anchor loads and potential modes of failure.

The opening screen allows selection between anchor design and post-installed rebar.

Real-time calculations are made as data is entered, with results displayed for each product. Embedment depths are adjusted via drop down menus and changes to system geometry, properties and required loads are made by navigating the upper tabs.

DesignFiX Software Information

DesignFiX Software InformationDesignFiX is the Chemical Anchor and Post installed rebar Calculation Software for the range of Injection Resins from V.J. Technology. DesignFiX enables calculations to be made in accordance with European Technical Approvals and provides a list of suitable products, from which you can select the most appropriate for your application.

A printout can also be produced showing all the relevant details and calculations of your chosen product in a format suitable for submission to designers, engineers and consultants. DesignFiX is available to download at www.vjtechnology.com.

1. Drill correct size hole 2. Clean hole by brushing & blowing, repeat sequence at least 3 times

3. Screw mixer onto the cartridge

4. Extrude to waste until resin is an even colour

6. Insert anchor to base of hole with a twisting action

7. Visual check to ensure sufficient resin used

8. Allow full cure time before attaching fixture and applying torque

5. Starting from the back, inject resin until hole is at least 1⁄2 full

The laboratory also has UKAS accreditation for independent

anchor testing.

Where performance characteristics are unusually demanding VJT

will do whatever it takes to find an appropriate solution that is

acceptable to the client.

DesignFiX Software

DesignFiX chemical anchor software helps with the design of the

VJT high performance resins in cracked and non-cracked concrete

according to European rules. [ETAG and TR029]

Site testing

With UKAS accreditation for anchor testing and CFA accredited

testers, VJT can undertake site tests with various pieces of portable

equipment with loads up to 500kN.

Training

Technical sales staff are trained to give tool box talks and safety

talks on subjects such as anchor installation, abrasive wheels,

HAVS, RCS Dust and cartridge tools.

1. Drill correct size hole 2. Clean hole by brushing & blowing, repeat sequence at least 4 times

3. Screw mixer onto the cartridge

4. Extrude to waste until resin is an even colour

6. Insert anchor to base of hole with a twisting action

7. Visual check to ensure sufficient resin used

8. Allow full cure time before attaching fixture and applying torque

5. Starting from the back, inject resin until hole is at least 1⁄2 full
