INJAZ Bahrain Spotlight INJAZ Bahrain held the annual board meeting on 16 June 2015 at INJAZ Bahrain Office in Manama. The Board of Directors have re-elected Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, The President of GPIC as INJAZ Bahrain Chairman, for the next 3 year term. Mr. Abdul Hakeem Al Khayyat, the CEO of Kuwait Finance House, was elected as Vice Chairman replacing outgoing Vice Chairman Mr. Mazin Manna the CEO of Citi Bahrain. We would like to thank Mr. Mazin for his valuable contribution and support during his tenor with INJAZ Bahrain. The Compliance Award is given to members who fulfill the organization’s policies, procedures, and reporting directives. The Quality Award is given to members who achieve the required levels of volunteer engagement and program delivery in educational institutes in their market. The Collaboration Award recognizes members who create joint resource-generating initiatives that enhance delivery of the programs.

INJAZ Bahrain held the annual board meeting on 16 June 2015 at INJAZ Bahrain Office in Manama. 4. Your message to the Bahraini youth. “Young people should invest their ideas into productive projects no matter how small the projects are. You have to work hard and believe in yourself to achieve the impossible”.

INJAZ Bahrain held its 7th “Company of the Year Competition” on April 27th & 28th 2015. The annual celebration of the accomplishments and achievements of the young entrepreneurs who have participated in the INJAZ Bahrain “Company Program". 11 teams - 9 secondary government and private schools, Gifted Center and Youth City competed for the Company of the Year crown.

“3 Dots” Company from Al-Iman Private School for girls, took the first place in the competition, and received the winning trophy from Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain and Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, INJAZ Bahrain Chairman. “Interactive Education” from The Bahrain Bayan School and “Noor” From Ahmed Al Omran Secondary boys school took the second and third place respectively. As the winner of the local competition, the team from Al-Iman Private School for girls will proceed to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain at the regional INJAZ AL ARAB competition later this year

The winning teams were selected by a specialist judging panel consisting of professionals from several leading organizations in the Kingdom: Mr. Mahmood AL Mahmood from “KFH”, Ms. Nadera Abuali from “Citi Bahrain”, Ms. Raeda Al Shemmari from “GPIC”, Mr. Haamed Fakhro “an Entrepreneur” and Ms. Hana Sarwani from “INJAZ Bahrain”.

1. What impact INJAZ Bahrain had on you? “INJAZ Bahrain helped us to pursue our dreams to become successful entrepreneurs. Also taught us the importance of starting a business, how to think creatively and carefully put our ideas into actions. It also had a great impact on our personalities and developing our skills such as creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership and taking responsibilities”.

2. What were the key Challenges? “During the year of the program, our team had faced lots of challenges, mostly coming up with a creative product. We have also faced some difficulties in time managements, marketing the product, communicating and dealing with various type of customers specially that we came from science background”.

Innovation Camps: Explore the spirit of Entrepreneurship

INJAZ Bahrain Conducted the 6th iCAMP successfully under the sponsorship of our leading partners and board members, EY. More than 80 students attended this workshop, representing 10 teams from 6 Universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain (University of Bahrain, Talal Abu Ghazala University, Kingdom University, Royal University for Women, RCSI and Polytechnic). University of Bahrain Team was the ultimate winner to the business challenge topic “Social Media & Technology". They came with the idea to have a social media verification process for social media published news.

On 13th June 2015, with the partnership of Citi Bahrain, INJAZ Bahrain celebrated the 10th Annual Citi Global Community Day. This global initiative brings together tens of thousands of Citi employees, family, friends and organisations such as INJAZ Bahrain who volunteer in projects to help local communities across the world.

Global Community Day also provides a unique opportunity to share and amplify messages of service and volunteerism across social media channels.

INJAZ Bahrain gratefully acknowledges all supporters for their long standing financial support to provide vital, innovative programs that inspire and prepare young Bahrainis to succeed in a global economy.

The 7th iCAMP, was also conducted this semester under the sponsorship of BANAGAS, for more than 50 university students from The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The teams had a great time competing and sharing ideas to find a solution for the business challenge "Youth entertainment facilities in Bahrain”.

Finally, under the sponsorship of Al Salam Bank, 8th iCAMP was conducted to a range of government schools (Shaikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Secondary Boys School, Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Secondary Boys School, Sheikh Abdulla Technical Boys School, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Institute, Al-Muharraq Commercial Boys School, Hamad Town Secondary Girls School, Khawlah Secondary Girls School, Al Marifa Secondary Girls School and Omaima Bint Al-Noaman Secondary Girls School).

International Success Stories by Visionaries

INJAZ Bahrain were invited to join the Development NGO – Visionaries’ annual event, "Success Stories", featuring international architect Carlos Zapata, American fashion designer Maggie Norris, and international artist Benjamin Shine on June 1st, 2015 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

During the month of May, INJAZ Bahrain held workshops and briefing sessions with the Ministry of Education officials and school coordinators to explore methods and development areas between INJAZ Bahrain and its educators. The sessions led to various discussions, sharing thoughts and providing quality feedback around certain aspects to strengthen the ties with our key partners in order to benefit the Bahraini youth and their future.

Meeting the Educators

Hosting three international public figures in a youth engagement effort, "Success Stories" by Visionaries aims to inspire local youth and empowers young talents by providing inspiring global examples of career success.

INJAZ Bahrain outstanding students were given the opportunity to listen and interact with the distinguished personalities and learn the secret of success from the experiences of the speakers, who shared their stories, challenges, opportunities and inspirations throughout their long journey.
