FLIGHTGUARD IS A SCOPING TOOL used to identify delaminations, voids,
cracks, spalls, dowel pin alignment,
and subsoil base conditions for
runways, taxiways, and more.
FlightGuard uses non-destructive infrared thermography (IRT), multiple ground penetrating radar (GPR) antenna arrays and HD visual cameras to scope runways and adjoining pavement.
INFRARED, VISIBLE, & GPR SCOPING
AIRPORT SCOPINGRUNWAYS • TAXIWAYS • APRONS • BRIDGES PARKING DECKS • TUNNELS • WALKWAYS
DIFFERENTIATORSMINIMIZE RUNWAY CLOSURE TIMES• HD visual data collected at up to 45 mph eliminating
manual crack identification
WHAT WE SCAN• Runways & taxiways, bridges, tunnels, parking garages,
& supporting concrete structures
WHAT WE DO• Locate, classify, & quantify (sf area) various anomalies• Reports in native CAD files (.dgn or .dwg) & Excel
WHAT WE FIND• Cracks, spalls, patches, & delaminations • Slab or overlay thickness• IRI numbers• Dowel pin alignment investigations for QC • Sink holes, voids, & sub-soil conditions
HOW WE DO IT• Scan the runways utilizing ground penetrating radar
(GPR), our patented infrared process, & visual sensors
• Scan infrared or GPR to identify problem areas within airport structures or on the grounds with depths of up to 18'

NON-DESTRUCTIVE RUNWAY SCOPINGOur patented infrared and visual technologies allow us to scan at speeds of 45 mph to gather detailed information related to cracks, delaminations, and voids while checking the stability of subsoils.
Two levels of crack data available:• Tier 1: Basic crack data, including linear quantification, GPS location,
and above or below 1/8” identification all at 45 mph.
• Tier 2: Advanced crack data, including linear quantification, GPS location, crack type identification of longitudinal, transverse, and map cracking with each type and quantity summarized. Crack widths of 1/32th, 1/16th and 1/8th inches identified. All data is summarized in Excel format. Data is collected at a maximum speed of 10 mph. Proprietary analysis algorithms allow for efficient and timely turnaround times.
ACCREDITATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
FlightGuard team members include: Ph.D, P.E., Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Civil Technicians, Certified ASNT Level 1, 2, 3 technicians and engineers.
• High speed (up to 45 mph) runway assessments for delamination, rebar depth, deck, and overlay thickness measurements
• Concrete, asphalt, thin epoxy, and LMC overlays
• Void detections• Ground and air-coupled antenna arrays• Report deliverable in native CAD formats:
AutoCAD or MicroStation • Inspections up to 18' deep through
various materials
