nATIOnAL CYBeR seCuRITY AWAReness MOnThTips to Keep You On the Top of Your Cyber Security Game
In light of october being national Cyber security Awareness month, we’ve put together some helpful tips to keep you informed about security.
Changeyourpassword. In order to avoid being one of the 9.9 million people who will fall victim to identity theft this year, don’t wait until you’re prompted to change your online passwords. keep a good rotation of new passwords going in order to keep your passwords’ security from becoming stale.
Keepitunique. Many sites require what may seem like a crazy amount of annoying requirements when it comes to creating passwords – such as including at least one number, one special character, and a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters. But remember, it’s all in an attempt to keep your information safe. The more complicated your password, the safer your information.
A note for Christmas Club Accountholders…Your accumulated savings and dividends will be transferred to your regular share account on October 17, 2019, just in time for the holiday shopping season!
Not in the club yet? It’s easy to start saving for the next holiday season! Simply contact a member service representative to open a Christmas Club Account and start saving a little each payday for an even happier holiday.

ResuLTs FROM Walk to end Alzheimer’s FundraiserUnited Financial Credit Union had the pleasure of participating in the 2019WalktoEndAlzheimer’sonSeptember7. Thanks to our members and staff, we were able to raise $2,555. Thank to you everyone who helped make this event so successful.
Logoutofyoursessions.Whenever you’re done handling your online business, always be sure to log out. Sure a lot of sites will automatically log you out after 5-10 minutes of inactivity, but remember, that’s more than enough time for a hacker to steal your precious information.
Clearyourbrowsercookiesandcache(andno,we’renottalkingaboutsnacktimehere).every time you browse the internet, your computer stores files and information (cookies) in its cache. This stored information could include your username, address, social security number, credit card number, or anything that you’ve entered while being online. Make it a habit to clear your cookies and cache weekly or even daily.
Keepyouranti-virussoftwareuptodate.Your computer’s antivirus software is the most important software you have on your computer. Letting it expire, or worse, not having any installed, will leave your computer open to all sorts of vulnerabilities.
