Workgroup Purpose:
A focused sub-group supporting US Postal Service PostalOne! team in developing strategies, activities, and processes to achieve complete support of electronic postage statement and payment processing for all classes of mail.

General Approach:• Focus on the electronic process and its
needs.• Develop approach and construct
specification for comprehensive electronic postage statement and payment processing.
• Include all stake-holders which the discussion demands.

Specific Approach - Thus Far:
• Two meetings and four conference calls focusing upon Standard Mail.
• Identified 17 specific "needs" required to foster a fully complete environment.
• Worked 8 "needs" to the point of describing what's necessary for complete functionality.

Functionalities Defined:Defined specific behaviors and processes needed
for the following functionalities:• Shortages• Combined Mailings: meter, permit, pre-cancelled
stamps for regular and non-profit• Postage Affixed: pre-cancelled stamps, pre-affixed
meter strips, post-affixed meter strips• Multiple presorts in one Mail.dat Segment• Postage payment adjustment for additional
postage from third party

• Co-palletization• Co-Mailing using multiple permits• Accommodate Register of multiple presorts
