Eligibility Requirements for Students

• Formal requirements (meeting the deadline, completeness of documents)

• Good knowledge of the English language1 (TOEFL-iBT 90, IELTS 6.5, or any other official certificate with

minimum equivalent to CEFR B22)

• Valid enrolment at home institution as a full-time student for the duration of the mobility (ask for

certificate of enrolment in English)

• Max. of 12 months ERASMUS not reached, Min. of 90 days stay

• Mobility is implemented as one unit (no interruptions)

• Individual Achievements (see next slide)

1Evidence of sufficient English skills provided by a TOEFL-iBT test amounting to a minimum of 90 points. The evidence may also be provided by other test methods

equivalent to the TOEFL-iBT test in accordance with the European Framework of Reference (e.g. IELTS with at least 6.5 points). In exceptional cases the evidence can be

submitted by means of an equivalent certificate or test results demonstrating the relevant minimum requirements (equivalent to B2 [upper intermediate] of the Common

European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)). An Expert Committee decides whether equivalence is demonstrated.2The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, abbreviated in English as CEFR, is a guideline used to describe

achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe

B2/Vantage or upper intermediate:

• Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.

• Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.

• Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

The aim is to support cosmopolitan students who are interested in other

cultures and who will be ambassadors of their home country within the

ERASMUS-program.

• Matching of Master program at home institution (to EuroMPM or Master

Embedded Systems) and preliminary course achievements

• If performance is equal, deprived students should have priority

• Personal interview (e.g. at home institution or skype call with FH Dortmund)

Issues important by Incoming Student mobilities to CUAS:a) The students will be nominated for the exchange by their home institution and finally selected by CUAS representative. In some cases interviews with students at home institution with CUAS representatives will take place.b) The nomination (official e-mail from home institution that includes name, surname, gender e-mail address of the student, study degree program, study level) for the spring semester has to take place by the end of November the previous year and for the fall semester by the end of May.c) After nomination the student is contacted by CUAS International Relations Office (IRO) with the information about the application procedure and organization of his/her stay in Carinthia. IRO will also send the student a draft of the Grant Agreement.d) The student has to follow the information on http://www.fh-kaernten.at/ueber-die-fh/organisation/servicebereiche/international-relations-office/incoming-exchange-students/ and apply for the exchange semester at CUAS by uploading following documents into an application online platform:a. Application Formb. Learning Agreement – including the list of courses the student would like to follow at CUAS.c. Copy of passportd. Transcript of Records from the home institutione. School Leaving Certificate or Bachelor certificate.e) The student has to return the Grant Agreement with signatures per e-mail to Ms. MonikaAuinger m.auinger@fh-kaernten.at

f) A Letter of Acceptance as Invitation will be issued by IRO and forwarded to the student. Those applying for the visa can use it by the visa application.g) The spring semester starts normally on 1 March and the fall semester on 1 October. 1-2 days before the official start (a) Welcome Day(s) for exchange students is organized by CUAS International Relations Office. It is important that every student joins this event. The dates of the Welcome Days will be included in the Letter of Acceptance.h) Upon arrival the student has to enroll at CUAS by paying the obligatory Austrian Student Union fee of EUR 19.70 [as of 2018/19]. He/She also has to report to CUAS IRO in order to sign the Grant Agreement in original.i) Within the first 3 days of his/her stay the student has to register at Meldeamt (registration office) and open a bank account.j) Within the first month of the stay, the students can make changes to the LearningAgreement.k) The students gets its scholarship in rates every month. The last rate is paid after the student has filled out the EU survey. The invitation to the EU survey will be sent per e-mail to the students e-mail address.l) At the end of the stay the student receives a Confirmation of Stay and a Transcript of Records.m) Recognition of the courses completed at CUAS has to take place at home institution on the basis of the Transcript of Records issued by CUAS. Confirmation of the recognition has to be sent to CUAS International Relations Office (Ms. Aleksandra Jama a.jama@fh-aernten.at)CUAS wishes all the guest students and staff a good stay in Carinthia and is looking forward to the exchange!

• The Eastern Partnership Program strengthens and promotes partnership relationships between German universities and universities in Central Eastern, Eastern and South Eastern Europe as well as the countries of the South Caucasus and Central Asia by promoting mobility and thus making a contribution

• to develop international relationships through education and research,• to spread and promote the German language abroad,• to promote intercultural dialogue between people, as well as to deal with crises and conflicts.

• Short-term (up to three months) exchange measures between the participating universities are funded.
