Non-Examination Pathway MBA Admissions through National Level Tests**

For MBA Oil & Gas / Power Management / Energy Trading / Logistics & Supply Chain Management Students having minimum valid MAT score of 80 Percentile will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will only be called for Group Discussion & Interview if qualified. Valid 75 percentile & above score of CAT 2017/ CMAT 2018 / GMAT/NMAT 2017/XAT 2017 scores will also be accepted.

For MBA Port & Shipping Management / Aviation Management / International Business/ Urban Infrastructure and Smart Cities / Business Analytics/ MBA with Specialization in HR / Operations / Mkt / Finance) Students having minimum valid MAT score of 75 Percentile will be exempted from UPES Management Entrance Test and will only be called for Group Discussion & Interview if qualified. Valid 75 percentile & above score of CAT 2017/ CMAT 2018 / GMAT/NMAT 2017/XAT 2017 scores will also be accepted.

50% Scholarship on Tuition Fee: 1. Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 80% marks in class XII & 85% marks in PCM for

Fellowship in M.Des Program

Teaching Assistance ship of Rs.3000/- is available for students pursuing M.Des Program.

To become eligible for the continuance of the fellowship in subsequent semesters, the students are required 1. To have earned Minimum SGPA / CGPA 8.0 in 1st Semester and subsequent semesters/ Year. 2. To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary

behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time. Continuance of the

financial assistance from semester to semester shall subject to the discipline, punctuality and good academic performance

as laid down in the rules besides the availability of fund with the University. Such students must not be getting any kind of

financial assistance/support e.g. fellowship/scholarship/fee waiver etc. from any other source.

Please Note: For all MBA/ M. Tech/ M. Des./ MA programs, candidates appearing in final year qualifying examination are

also eligible to apply provided they submit the proof of their eligibility latest by October 30, 2018. Admission

of students failing to submit the proof of their eligibility by October 30, 2018 even because non-declaration

of results by their respective Universities will stand automatically cancelled & no refund of fee will be

admissible, in such cases.

Candidates placed in compartment are not eligible for admission to any program of study in the University in

Graduation.

For all M. Tech. programs, candidates with valid & qualified GATE score will be preferred and will be offered

teaching and research assistantship while pursuing the program as per also University's requirements and

Training & Certification Fee: To give real life exposure to students & to make them industry ready professionals, short duration industrial

tours/training and/or online trainings shall be organized for all students of full time programs, except for Engineering & Law PG students.

The trainings may lead to certification in all programs except for BBA where it will be a credited course. A charge of Rs. 22,500/- (one time)

is to be paid in 5thsemester in case of UG Programs & 2nd semester in case of PG student. In case travel of industrial tour by air is

necessitated, additional charges, if any, would be intimated to the students concerned for payment prior to commencement of the tour. Personality Development Program (PDP) Fee: To improve communication & soft skills and placement selection chances, it is mandatory for

all the students to attend the Personality Development Program organized by UPES. PDP fee of Rs.17,000/- payable along with 2nd Semester

Fee in case of PG students. PDP fee for UG programs is Rs.22,000/-, out of which half is payable at the time of admission and balance half in

penultimate (second last) semester. However, in case of LLM student only half of PDP fee is payable at the time of admission because being

a short duration program only half of PDP program is conducted for them. Refundable Security: Refundable (interest free) security amount of Rs.20,000/- is also payable at the time of registration. Levies &Taxes: In case any taxes/ levies on fee are charged by the Central/State/Local Authorities/Overseas Authorities from time to time, the same shall also be borne by the students.

Convocation Fee: Student will be charged Rs.1,500 as Convocation fee to be paid in penultimate (2nd Last) semester. Since LLM is one-year

duration course, this fee is payable at the time of registration.

Academic Computing Fee: Rs.,3630/- will be charged in the per semester of the program. It is mandatory for all students to bring their

Laptop as per the configuration mentioned in the admission offer letter or on the UPES website.

Medical Insurance Fee: To cover medical expenses students are covered through annual Group Medical Health Insurance Policy. An amount

of Rs.500/- shall be charged from student at the time of registration. For subsequent years the amount shall be communicated to students

alone with semester fees. Students of BBA Aviation Operations will additionally have to pay one-time applicable IATA course fee (approx. Rs. 40,000/-) in addition to the semester fee during October 2018.

Residential blocks have been earmarked for limited on – campus accommodation (on first come first serve basis) separately for boys and girls on triple sharing basis. UPES will follow UGC guidelines regarding refund of fees on withdrawal. The refund will be processed online. For more details

Students residing at Dehradun city and wishing to avail transportation facility to the UPES campus can avail the same by

paying a fee of Rs. 20,000 for academic year 2018-19.

University provides basic healthcare facilities. Doctors on roll provide basic first aid in case of medical emergencies and

subsequently student is assisted in evacuating him/her to nearest hospital.

The medical treatment cost is to be borne by student or his/her parent. The onus of insuring the student under medical

insurance is on the student and he/she is expected to keep insurance card handy.

UPES shall provide placement assistance to all enrolled students subject to their fulfilling eligibility conditions as prescribed

in UPES Placement Regulations. However, the obligation of the University will be only to provide Placement assistance and

not Placement guarantee.

The University has zero tolerance policy on ragging and will strictly enforce it.

Ragging in any form inside or outside the campus and hostel premises is strictly prohibited under UGC Regulations on ragging, Ragging being a cognizable offence; the punishment for ragging will be summary expulsion from the University.

Ragging as defined by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India: “Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written, or by an act with the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student; indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological or to raise fear or apprehension thereof, in a fresher or a junior student, or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.”

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to any of the program have to apply online at www.upes.ac.in by paying the application form fee of Rs. 1850/-.

Commencement of actual classes begins from the date of commencement of PEP (Personality Enhancement Program) held immediately after registration.

An applicant holding a passport of any country other than India is defined as an International student. However, student holding Indian passport but having qualified higher Secondary examination/UG degree or equivalent from foreign country would have the option to apply as international student. Eligibility Criteria for International Students:

Students must fulfil minimum eligibility requirements as laid down for their chosen program at UPES.

UPES must be satisfied that candidates applying for admission to undergraduate programs must have obtained higher secondary school certificate (with minimum percentage of marks as prescribed) and taken requisite courses necessary to meet the eligibility criteria for the program of admission.

For admission to postgraduate program at UPES, the equivalence for the undergraduate degree earned by the candidate in his/her country shall be obtained from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In certain cases, students may be requested to obtain the necessary certification from (AIU).

It is recommended that students have the following:

School of Business: MBA programs: GMAT score of 600.

School of Engineering: Undergraduate programs: SAT score of 1500/ Postgraduate programs: GRE Score of 1700 (cumulative).

Students from non -English speaking countries should satisfy UPES that they have adequate proficiency in English to be able to undertake the program of their choice. If required, an undertaking from such students shall be taken to undergo the English language training for a specific period (depending on the proficiency to be assessed by UPES on arrival) before starting the actual program of admission. Qualifying TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent may not be mandatory but strongly advised.

Students must possess a valid passport for the duration of study.

Admission Procedure for International Students

Student can apply on line in the prescribed format available at www.upes.ac.in.

An application fee of USD75 is payable applicable for international students. This can be paid online or by credit card. If you experience any difficulties, please request a manual application form from email [email protected]

UPES will review the student’s application and required supporting documents. If found eligible, UPES will issue a Provisional Offer of Admission Letter.

Note: UPES may also request an interview. If the applicant is outside India, this may be by phone or on line, the cost of which will be borne by the applicant.

Important note: At the time of final registration, all successful international applicants will be required to submit attested

copies of the following documents:

10th & 12th/Graduation grade card or equivalent

Official transcripts/transfer certificate from Institution last attended

Passport and student visa valid for duration of study.

Finally admitted students will be required to register themselves with the foreigner’s registration office/local police

authorities as per regulation of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

It is mandatory for each incoming student to be equipped with a laptop conforming to the minimum specifications

of UPES details available on the UPES website www.upes.ac.in

VISAS AND REGISTRATION

Visas

International students who wish to study in India must obtain a Student Visa before travelling to India.

Please make enquiries at the Indian Consulate/Embassy /High Commission in your country /country of application

to ascertain the correct procedure and time necessary to obtain a visa valid for the term of study of your program

at UPES.

Registration

All international students are required by law to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) / local police

authorities as per regulation of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. At present, this must be within 14 days

of arrival in India but please check this information with the Consulate/Embassy/High Commission in your company before

departure as these rules are subject to change.

Students must comply with visa rules and registration requirements and keep abreast of any changes. Accordingly, students

are responsible for ensuring that their visas are valid throughout the period of study at UPES and for maintaining their

registration with the FRRO/local police.

Students can request assistance from UPES for preliminary registration formalities in Dehradun.

Note: Students of BBA Aviation Operations will additionally have to pay applicable IATA course fee (approx. USD600) along

with the semester fee during October 2018.

One time fees include:

• Training & Certification Fee – mandatory short and long duration industrial tours provide first hand exposure to

industry for all students of full time UPES programs.

Note: If air travel is necessary, there may additional charges, which the student will have to pay prior to commencement of

the tour.

To improve communication and soft skills, all students must attend the Personality Development Program organized

by UPES.

• Academic Computing Fees –Academic Computing fee includes maintenance of hardware, providing licensed

software’s and internet bandwidth for the entire duration of the program. However, it is mandatory for each

incoming student to be equipped with a laptop conforming to the minimum specifications of UPES, which will be

detailed at the time of admission and is available on the website www.upes.ac.in.

• Refundable (interest free) Security Deposit: After the successful completion of the registered program, the amount

of USD300 shall be refunded to the students if nothing is outstanding against him.

these will be borne by students

Limited Campus accommodation is available on a first come first serve basis with separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostel accommodation is full board and includes meals. All accommodation is on a triple sharing basis. Fee quoted are for academic year 2018-19 Boys’ Hostel: - Room on Triple sharing basis with common wash rooms USD 2120 Girls’ Hostel: -Three categories of rooms are available in the girl’s hostel at the Kandoli campus, (home to the School of Business) as follows: Room on triple sharing basis with common wash rooms USD2120 Room on triple sharing basis with attached wash rooms USD2360 Room on triple sharing basis with attached wash- rooms & air-conditioning USD2660 A refundable security deposit of USD 150 is payable on reservation of hostel accommodation. NOTE: Students who have confirmed on camps hostel accommodation must provide a copy of a current medical certificate at the time of payment of fees. The original should be produced at the time of registration on Campus. A student registered in the on-campus accommodation who withdraws at any time during the academic year will not be entitled to the hostel fee refund. In the event that his vacant accommodation is allocated to another student proportionate refund may be considered.
