Financial Technology(FinTech) is the next growth area in the world of finance. Many financial institutions are making disruptive changes in the use of digital technologies, from Apple Pay to PayPal, to allow them to meet future banking needs. The Diploma in Financial Informatics (FI) will help you surf this new technology wave sweeping the financial world.

In the first year, you will build a strong foundation ofIT knowledge, focusing on coding, designing databases and understanding IT infrastructure. At the same time, you will learn about the Financial Ecosystem, specifically in the area of Technology and Operations (T&O) to understand the financial landscape.

In your second year, you will get the chance to develop applications using APIs for the banking and finance industry, which focus on creating good customer experiences and on-demand banking services for consumers and businesses. Together with your comprehensive training in IT, you will have the opportunity to build or suggest innovative solutions for the financial institutions of the next generation. You will also be taught how to manage and analyse the financial data, and to design and manage business processes and applications.

In your final year, you will learn about Technologies for Financial Industry, where you will study how facilities such as data centres operate in the banking and financial industry. On top of that, you can put what you have learnt into practice on a capstone project to solve real-world challenges. As part of your six-month internship, you will get to work on projects with leading financial institutions, such as DBS, OCBC and UOB and MAS, or with FinTech start-ups, accelerators and incubators.
