Both the parlamentarium Simone Veil located at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and the Alsace-Moselle Memorial in Schirmeck offer visitors a fascinating view of European politics and the symbolism of the region.

The new parlamentarium Simone Veil exhibition gives citizens of all ages a practical insight into the role of the European Parliament and the duty of its Members. Visitors can see the impact that European decision making has on their daily lives.

After visiting the European Parliament, visitors can complement their experience with a stop-over at the Alsace-Moselle Memorial to find out more about the unique history of a region that has been shunted between two countries; from life on the Maginot Line and the destruction of World War II, to Franco-German reconciliation and the reconstruction of Europe.

THE PARLAMENTARIUM SIMONE VEIL

All visits to the European Parliament in Strasbourg now include the parlamentarium Simone Veil. Its immersive experience allows visitors to explore the current issues and future challenges that both Europeans and the European institutions face. With a dynamic and interactive approach, visitors find out about today’s European Parliament, its political groups and its activities. They can also find information about all MEPs.

Features of the parlamentarium Simone Veil include an interactive virtual trip through Europe, a 3D light map of the continent, testimonials of European citizens, and the 360° cinematic experience. The activities in the parlamentarium Simone Veil not only show the European Parliament in action but also help visitors to feel part of the institution and welcome at the heart of European democracy.

A limited number of places are available for visitors to follow the plenary session in the Hemicycle for up to an hour. Entry is on a first come, first served basis. No prior booking is available.

Thursday 09.00 - 12.00
