I would like to introduce our company Hamriyah Steel, the largest Russia-Emirates joint venture in GCC, that have been in steel business since 2010.

In 2006 the leading global producer and supplier of HBI, iron ore products, and high quality steel Metalloinvest Holding from Russia and His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan decided to establish a JV and in the beginning of 2010 the newly constructed rolling mill with a capacity of 1 million tons per year started producing steel rebars for the Gulf market and surrounding countries.

At the present time Hamriyah Steel are one of the most competitive rebar producers in the UAE and have expanded our position on fast growing GCC construction market with comprehensive advantages in technologies, facilities, sustained cost competitiveness, and highly competent staff, etc.

About Us

Company profile

Hamriyah Steel FZC is a Russian-Emirates joint venture established in 2006.

Under this project a rolling mill was constructed in Hamriyah Free Zone (Sharjah, UAE) in order to supply 1M tpy of steel rebars.

The equipment supply contract for the Hamriyah Steel was awarded to SMS Meer S.p.A., the Italian subsidiary of German SMS Group.

In order to satisfy customers high level demands, the modern technology of thermo-processing have been implemented at Hamriyah Steel FZC.

The purpose is to improve technical characteristics of low carbon steel by the effect of surface quenching and self tempering.

Hamriyah Steel is located on 112,000 square meters of land 4 km from the Hamriyah Free Zone Port.

Rebars are produced across the range of sizes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 28, 32, 36, 40mm and according to the International standards such as BS4449, ASTM A615, ISO 6935, ASTMA 706 and regional standards as well.

Manufacturing Process

THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENTAILS THE CONVERSION OF STEEL SQUARE BILLETS INTO STEEL DEFORMED BARS USING SMS MEER (ITALY) TECHNOLOGY WHICH WAS COMMISSIONED IN 2010.

After sending billets into a walking beam type furnace the material is heated up to 1150◦C.

Upon reaching the required tempera-ture, the steel billet enters into 18 hous-ing-less rolling stands in horizontal and vertical configuration.

5 After passing of cold shear, bar counter and bundle forming equipment the rebars are ready for final weighing, tagging, warehousing and dispatching.

Through this line of stands the required sizes (diameters) of deformed bars (rebars) are achieved.

The final mechanical properties are achieved by water quenching and self-tempering process (tempcore technology) than material natural cooling on cooling bed.



HAMRIYAH STEEL FZC PRODUCES DEFORMED STEEL BARS IN 1.0 - 2.5 T BUNDLES WITH 6M LENGTH AND 2.0 - 5.0 T BUNDLES WITH 12M LENGTH.


The plant equipped with modern thermo-processing technology, designed to improve technical characteristics of low carbon steel by surface hardening and self-tempering. Thermo-processing will allow Hamriyah Steel to obtain yield strength levels of up to 550 MPa with very good specification figures for welding and elongation.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ACTIVITIES AT HAMRIYAH STEEL STARTS WITH UNDERSTANDING THE CUSTOMER’S REQUIREMENT AND CONTINUES TILL THE CUSTOMER IS COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE DELIVERY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICES.

Our Quality Assurance system has been established throughout the process from Order to Shipping of products.

We assure the quality of steel by inspection and testing throughout the manufacturing process.

To ensure compliance to customer’s requirement Hamriyah steel has a Quality Control Laboratory, which is equipped with most modern testing and analytical equipment such as universal testing machine, optical emission spectrometer, bending machine and oven.

We assure uniform quality which satisfy all national and international standards.

We have been granted the Dubai central Laboratory Certificate for manufacture of Hot Rolled Steel Bars.

Our Quality Assurance system meets the requirements for DCL and CARES certification.

Calibration plans for all instruments are carried out regularly to ensure the accuracy of testing.

Hamriyah Steel has been certified with leading national and international certification authorities.
