CUOS Servers: WebUI and CLI :: Tasks
Lab Instructions:
Prior to starting this lab, ensure that you have both read through the Voice Rack Rental Guide before beginning this lab, so that you are fully aware of how all equipment works and is accessed, and that you have loaded both the initial router/switch configs from INE’s members’ site, and that you have manually loaded the CUCM initial configs as described below.
Note
- Most Deep Dive lab scenarios require existing configuration before they can begin to be configured. Also, most lab scenarios use different pre-configuration from other Deep Dive labs. Therefore it is necessary to load the "Startup Configs" prior to beginning any of these lab scenarios.
- To load your router and switch configs, first log into your INE.com Members account, then navigate to the "Rack Rental" tab, and click on "Control Panel" >> "Click here to choose a configuration to be loaded on your Voice Rack", then choose the appropriately named selection for this module. This will only load your router and switch configs (pstn, r1, r2, r3, sw1, sw2).
- To load your CUCM server initial configs, please log into the CUCM Admin WebUI, and use the “Bulk Administration” tool to upload & import the appropriately named “DD-ModXX-CUCM-Startup.tar" file that was included in your Members account for this module. Here are two brief demonstration videos on how to successfully accomplish this upload and import into CUCM: Importing or Exporting Configurations in CSV file from CUCM (15 mins), and Fixing Any Issues That May Arise With Importing CSS and CdPTP & CngPTPs (8 mins).

2.1 CUCM WebUI: BAT Import
Use the "CUCM_Module2_Startup.tar" file provided in your "Startup Configs" and import it via CUCM BAT the configuration to populate the CUCM Informix DB
BEFORE YOU IMPORT, Ensure that you have:
1. Changed the CUCM Server(s) (Under the System column) from Hostname to IP Address format
2. Activated all services on the CUCM Publisher Server via Serviceability
3. Perform the import mentioned above
4. Check CSS's - if they exist but do not contain the proper PTs, repeat import mentioned in bullet 1, however this time only check the checkboxes on the Import page for "CSS (Class of Control)" and "Override the existing configuration" listed at the bottom of the page above the "Run Immediately" radio button
5. Warning: Skipping any of these steps may cause the import to fail
2.2 CUCM WebUI: Phone AutoAnswer Report
Use the CUCM BAT tool to generate a report indicating how many IP Phones have DNs that are set to "Auto Answer", and in the same report indicate every IP Phones' Calling Search Space (CSS)
2.3 CUOS: TFTP File Management
Use the "README.txt" file provided in your "Startup Configs" and add it to CUCM Publisher's existing set of files available to be served via TFTP
Go to Branch2 router (R3) and pull that file from the CUCMPub to the local router's flash memory
View the README.txt file on the Branch2 router
2.4 CUOS: CLI
Find and display the hostname for the CUCM Publisher server
2.5 Informix DB Replication: CLI
Perform a check to see if the CUCM Subscriber DB is properly replicated from the CUCM Publisher DB
Do this from SSH CLI first using perfmon tools
Next check the DB status using dbutils
If the Subscriber DB is out of sync from the Publisher, perform a repair
2.6 Trace Files: WebUI
Enable CUCM Trace files for CorpHQ Phone1 & 2 only
Place a call to 911 to generate records to view

2.7 Trace Files: CLI
Use the CUCM SSH CLI to tail the end of the trace file where CorpHQ Phone1's activity will be able to be seen
Place a call from CorpHQ Phone1 to 911 to generate activity
2.8 Trace Files: RTMT-RealTime
Use the RTMT to view, in real-time, the Trace file activities of CorpHQ Phone2
Place a call from CorpHQ Phone2 to 911 to generate activity
2.9 Trace Files: RTMT-Search
Use the RTMT to view, in non real-time, the Trace file activities of CorpHQ Phone2
A call has already been placed from CorpHQ Phone1 to 911 from the previous task, search for that information and find a way to only display CorpHQ Phone2's activity
2.10 RIS: CLI
Check how many IP Phones are registered via the CUCMPub or CUCMSub CLI (depending on which is the active CPE)
2.11 PerfMon: CLI
Determine how much total bandwidth and how much available bandwidth there is for both the CorpHQ and Branch2 sites while no calls are active
Place a call from CorpHQ Phone1 to Branch2 Phone1 and re-check both of these statistics
2.12 PerfMon: RTMT
Determine if there are any active Music on Hold (MOH) streams - either Unicast or Multicast - on the CUCMPub or CUCMSub server
Place a call from CorpHQ Phone1 to Branch2 Phone1, have the CorpHQ phone place the Branch2 phone on hold, and re-check these statistics
Determine from these statistics if the call is Unicast or Multicast
