Epic is making headway in the quest for interoperability and potentially fulfilling meaningful use requirements with a new way for patients to send their medical records to theirproviders. The new product, called Share Everywhere, allows patients to give doctors access to their medical records through an internet browser. That means doctors don'thave to have their own electronic health record systems and the information can be shared despite not having EHRs that can communicate.

The Large Employers’ 2018 Health Care Strategy and Plan Design Survey found virtually all employers (96%) will make telehealth services available in states where it is allowednext year. More than half (56%) plan to offer telehealth for behavioral health services, more than double the percentage this year. Telehealth utilization is on the rise, with nearly20% of employers experiencing employee utilization rates of 8% or higher.

The timing was right for Navicure - there’s always downward pressure on pricing, and providers areconsolidating to get more leverage with insurers, so combining the companies gave both an enterprise-wide revenue cycle process and infrastructure.
