Ltd., Ka- zahaya, Japan, will open the Norton World Grinding Technology Center Asia-Pacific in Kazahaya, Japan, in 1996. The state-of-the-art facility will function as an integral part of Norton’s world network of research and technol- ogy center. In the new center, Norton and Kure-Norton will work with cus- tomers, machine tool builders, and uni- versities to accelerate the development of new products and applications using bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, and superabrasives. The new tech- nical sales department will be led by Chris Mayhew. A 6,000 ft addition to its manufac- turing plant has been completed by Almco Inc., Albert Lea, Minn. The new addition is used for all welding operations and contains both existing and new state-of-the-art welding equipment. Spartan Felt Co., Spartanburg, S.C., announced the formation of a new, wholly owned subsidiary, Spar- tan Buff Co.
