The SITRAFFIC C800V Traffic Controller wasdesigned by Siemens for use around theworld.
This means that a key priority in the designof the C800V was the requirement of maxi-mum functionality and reliability in a widevariety of system environments.

The compatibility with existing trafficcomputer centers is maintained, andthe flexibility of the system is one of itskey characteristics.
The CPU with the proven 32-bit pro-cessor system controls up to 48 signalgroups. The memory is generously di-mensioned and can be expanded to amaximum of 9.5 Megabytes.
A proven feature is the signal monitor-ing which is implemented with two in-dependent microprocessors in a failsafeconfiguration according to VDE 0832.This virtually eliminates the risk of anyunsafe traffic signaling states.
The SITRAFFIC C800V is suitable forsimple as well as complex priority con-trol systems for public transportation.It is designed for use with proven LD4series 4-channel loop detectors and forthe optimum integration with advancedvideo detection systems.
The compact design and the new solidframe construction of the SITRAFFICC800V contribute to an easy and there-fore cost-effective assembly. The enclo-sure is made of high-impact recyclableplastic.

The C800VK (C800V compact) model isa version of the C800V controller that isdesigned for small nodes. The compactdesign can be configured for up to 8signal groups and up to 12 detectorloops.
The C800VF (C800V pedestrian) con-troller is tailored to the requirements ofpedestrian signals; the lamp switch is limited to 4 signal group.
As an alternative to the connection ofcentral lamp switches, the C800VPmodel also allows the use of peripherallamp switches in PLUS technology.

Programming and maintenance – standards for quality
The control unit that is included in the stand-ard configuration has a 4-line LCD displaythat provides fast information about currentoperating states and system events.
The tools of the SITRAFFIC family set stand-ards for user-oriented service software forprogramming, data input and maintenance.
SITRAFFIC Control, the data input programof the C800V, offers a consistent conceptwith a modern look and feel, both for familiarfunctions and for the latest OCIT features.
SITRAFFIC Service provides all necessarycommunication and testing tools for opera-tion, testing and diagnostics. All functionallevels from fully graphics-based visualizationto detailed expert information can be ac-cessed.
SITRAFFIC Language (TL) is the heart of aunique programming system for the solutionof traffic engineering problems. By using op-tional advanced structograms or familiarflowcharts, planners can convert traffic engi-neering tasks into a program code withoutthe need for programming skills.
Within the program, module libraries offerpredefined solutions for many traffic engi-neering partial problems.
In the PDM/TL user-programmable phase-oriented control model, individual solutionsto control problems can be created in a lan-guage that is understandable to the plannerby using parameterizable traffic engineeringfunction libraries.
The S-X traffic flow component can be usedto find efficient solutions particularly fortraffic engineering tasks with priority controlfor public transportation that are based onstage-oriented planning requirements.
The key performance feature of S-X is astandardized flow of control with definedprototypes for each individual function. Theuser leverages the predefined frameworkand is spared the time-consuming selectionof the required individual modules and theintegration of a consistent control flow con-cept.
With the standardized S-L process, tasksthat relate to a stage-oriented planning re-quirement can be solved in a particularly efficient manner: The traffic engineeringfunctionality is predefined in its logical flow,and customization to intersection-specificrequirements is exclusively implemented byparameterization.
Another component is the Siemens VS-PLUSsoftware package. As a standardized para-meterizable control system, it offers the ad-vantage of traffic-responsive control withoutthe disadvantages of conventional user pro-gram development.
