OUR LEGACY… Adelaide Festival Centre expertly presents world class critically acclaimed festivals and events, including Adelaide Cabaret Festival, OzAsia Festival, Adelaide Guitar Festival, DreamBIG Children’s Festival and Adelaide French Festival. We also host many different styles of events, ranging from national and local conferences, seminars, dinners and weddings.

Our community focus centres around our centrED program which provides exciting and comprehensive experiences for teachers and students.

Our On Stage school holiday programs are masterclasses for our future artists and Fanfare is an exciting opportunity for budding composers and musicians.

Adelaide Festival Centre is the heart of the arts and events in South Australia

Established in 1973, it is Australia’s first capital city arts venue and hosts more than one million people annually. As well as presenting theatre, dance, music and exhibitions, Adelaide Festival Centre plays host to spectacular events which helps delegates to inspire, challenge, educate, and entertain in their respective fields. We welcome delegates and speakers from all around Australia and internationally.

The Festival Centre is centrally located on King William Road at the start of Adelaide Riverbank, sitting near the banks of the River Torrens, adjacent to Elder Park. We are distinguished by our three silvery-white geometric dome roofs.

Exciting changes are underway at Adelaide Festival Centre.

We are part of the transformation of Adelaide Riverbank that will create a vibrant space for all to come together and enjoy. At Adelaide Festival Centre, we are working on: • Modern foyers with upgraded facilities• New food & beverage and function venue options• Technical equipment upgrades in our theatres• A children’s arts playground• New promenade and entrances to Dunstan Playhouse and Festival Theatre• Adelaide’s very own star-studded Walk of Fame

The current redevelopment is the most significant capital infrastructure project undertaken since our doors opened in 1973.

Our talented chefs offer a wide variety of sensational food packages, showcasing some of South Australia’s best produce. Our menus are accompanied by superb South Australian wine selections, handpicked by our Food and Beverage Manager.

Our Banquet Room and The Star Kitchen and Bar, catering from 50 to 700 guests, offer an inviting atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows. Both spaces boast spectacular, picturesque views of Elder Park and the iconic River Torrens, providing a unique element to complement any style of celebration.

Whether it is an awards night, a dinner dance or a conference gala dinner, we have the facilities and expertise to manage banquets from 30 to 450 guests. Our floor team will deliver outstanding client service and attention to detail to ensure your banquet is a great success.

COCKTAIL PARTIES

Adelaide Festival Centre has a reputation for delicious hot and cold canapes which feature South Australia’s best produce, ranging from Barossa chicken, and smallgoods from Hahndorf to our famous seafood from local companies. Our cocktail menu selections are accompanied by a fine wine selection handpicked by our Food and Beverage Manager.

CONFERENCE / MEETINGS

Adelaide Festival Centre offers fexible rooms of varying sizes, for any type of function. Be it a conference with additional concurrent sessions, workshops or a simple presentation, our venues are ideal to host from 10 to 500 guests. Our venues will also accommodate all of your exhibition requirements as a standalone expo or as part of a conference. We can host up to 60 3m x 2m exhibition booths.

WEDDINGS

Our wedding planning team will help to create a stylish and memorable event, with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail. The bride and groom will receive complimentary five star accommodation on their wedding night; with guests also receiving discounted accommodation rates.

Adelaide Festival Centre offer three all inclusive wedding packages or we can tailor the perfect package for your special event. We are your partner creating a memorable wedding reception and look forward to ensuring that we leave a positive, lasting impression with your guests.

The Banquet Room is a flexible function room for large events which is adaptable to suit your needs and boasts a spectacular sweeping view that is an ideal back drop for the perfect event. From weddings to corporate functions, festivals to conferences, this versatile venue is sure to meet your needs, catering up to 450 seated guests or 500 guests for a cocktail function.

JOHN BISHOP ROOM

The John Bishop Room is the ideal venue to host your next intimate corporate event. With a seating capacity for up to 60 guests, including built in audio visual equipment and a large window to allow natural day light, the John Bishop Room offers you affordability and versatility with a touch of class.

QUARTET ROOM

The Quartet Room is our newest function room, designed to host your next meeting or seminar. With a seating capacity to 60 guests and including built in audiovisual equipment, this venue meets your needs with an all inclusive space.

OUR THEATRES

FESTIVAL THEATRE is the largest proscenium arch theatre in Adelaide, seating close to 2000 people. It was designed as both a lyric theatre and concert hall, and is used not only for theatrical productions and large concerts, but also for graduation ceremonies, seminars and many other functions. Its huge backstage area makes the stage area one of the largest in the southern hemisphere and the pick for performing arts companies presenting shows with large sets. It also houses the Silver Jubilee Organ, a remarkable hovering pipe organ built and donated to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

DUNSTAN PLAYHOUSE is a more intimate venue, seating 590 people across two levels. State Theatre Company South Australia has been based here since 1974 and uses the theatre, rehearsal rooms and extensive production workshop housed in Adelaide Festival Centre’s second white shell.

SPACE THEATRE is an extremely versatile studio theatre with no traditional stage or fixed seating. It can be transformed into a theatre in the round, a corner stage setting or a cabaret venue and depending on configuration seats anywhere between 200 to 350 people.

HER MAJESTY’S THEATRE (Grote Street) will undergo extensive redevelopment in 2018, reclaiming its reputation as one of Australia’s finest theatres.
