INDONESIA VEHICLE TESTING PROVISION

1. Uji berkala wajib bagi Mobil Penumpang Umum, Mobil Bus, Mobil Barang, Kereta Gandengan

dari Kereta Tempelan yang dioperasikan di jalan. ( PP 55 pasal 143 ayat (1));

Periodic Test as referred to in Article 121 paragraph (3) letter b shall be mandatory for Passenger’s Car, Bus, Cargo Car, Articulated Cart and Motor Cartoperated on the road.

2. Uji Berkala terhadap kendaraan bermotor wajib Uji Berkala, untuk pertama kali dilakukan

setelah 1 (satu) tahun sejak diterbitkannya Surat Tanda Nomor Kendaraan Bermotor. (PP 55

pasal 146 ayat (1)).

The Motor Vehicle Periodic Test for Motor Vehicle required to undergo Periodic Test shall be taken, for the first time, in 1 (one) year from the issuance of Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate.

3. Masa uji berkala berlaku selama 6 (enam) bulan. (PP 55 pasal 146 ayat (2)).

The validity period of the Periodic Test shall be 6 (six) months.

4. Bukti lulus uji diberikan dalam bentuk kartu uji dan tanda uji. PP 55 pasal 152 ayat (2)

The Test Passing Certificate shall be issued in the form of test card and test statement.

5. Dalam hal Kendaraan Bermotor dinyatakan tidak lulus uji, penguji wajib menerbitkan surat

keterangan tidak lulus uji. PP 55 pasal 153 ayat (1)

In the event that a Motor Vehicle is declared not passing the test, the Inspector shall issue a test failing certificate.

6. Surat keterangan tidak lulus uji disampaikan secara tertulis kepada pemilik Kendaraan Bermotor

dengan mencantumkan: (PP 55 pasal 153 ayat (2)):

a. Item yang tidka lulus uji;

b. Alasan tidak lulus uji;

c. Perbaikan yang harus dilakukan; dan

d. Waktu dan tempat dilakukan pengujian ulang;

The test failing certificate shall be delivered in writing to the owner of the Motor Vehicle by listing: a. failing item; b. reason for failing; c. improvement that shall be done, and d. time and place of re-testing

7. Uji ulang tidak diperlakukan sebagai pemohon baru kecuali permohonan uji ulang dilakukan

setelah batas waktu yang ditetapkan. PP 55 pasal 154 ayat (2);

The re-test shall not be treated as a new application unless the application for re-testing is submitted after the pre-determined time limit.

8. Dalam hal bukti lulus Uji Berkala hilang atau rusak yang tidak dapat dibaca, pemilik dapat

mengajukan permohonan penerbitan bukti lulus Uji Berkala pengganti. PP 55 pasal 158 ayat (4);

In the event that the Periodic Test passing certificate is lost or damaged rendering it illegible, the owner can apply for the issuance of a replacement Periodic Test passing certificate;

9. Dalam hal terdapat perubahan kepemilikan, spesifikasi teknis dan/atau wilayah operasi

Kendaraan, pemilik atau pemilik baru Kendaraan wajib mengajukan permohonan perubahan

bukti lulus Uji Berkala. PP 55 pasal 158 ayat (2);

In the event of change of ownership, technical specification and/or vehicle operating region, the new vehicle owner or owner shall apply for amendment to the Periodic Testpassing certificate;

10. Pemilik Kendaraan Bermotor harus melaporkan secara tertulis kepada unit pelaksana Uji

Berkala Kendaraan Bermotor yang menerbitkan bukti lulus Uji Berkala apabila Kendaraan

Bermotornya dioperasikan di wilayah lain di luar wilayah pengujian yang bersangkutan secara

terus menerus lebih dari 3 (tiga) bulan. PP 55 pasal 159;

Motor Vehicle’s Owner must report in writing the Motor Vehicle Periodic Test executive unit issuing the Periodic Test passing certificate if the Motor Vehicle will be operated in another region beyond the relevant testing region jurisdiction continuously for more than 3 (three) months.

11. Setiap orang yang mengemudikan Kendaraan Bermotor beroda empat atau lebih di jalan yang

tidak memenuhi persyaratan laik jalan dipidana dengan pidana kurungan paling lama 2 (dua)

bulan atau denda paling banyak Rp. 500.000,00 (lima ratus ribu rupiah). UU 22 pasal 286.

Anyone driving a four or more wheeled Motorized Vehicle on the road which does not meet the

road worthiness requirement shall be punished with imprisonment at the maximum period of 2

(two) months or penalty at the maximum of Rp. 500.000 (five hundred thousand rupiah);

12. Setiap orang yang mengemudikan mobil penumpang umum, mobil bus, mobil barang, kereta

gandengan, dan kereta tempelan yang tidak dilengkapi dengan surat keterangan uji berkala dan

tanda lulus uji berkala dipidana dengan pidana kurungan paling lama 2 (dau) bulan atau denda

paling banyak Rp. 500.000,00 (lima ratus ribu rupiah). UU 22 pasal 288.

Anyone who drives a public passengers car, bus, cargo truck, coach trailer, and attached coach

which is not equipped with a periodic trial certificate and periodic passing test certificate shall

be punished with imprisonment at the maximum period of 2 (two) months or penalty at the

maximum amount of Rp. 500.000 (five hundred thousand rupiah).
