Goal & Objectives (2004 - 2007)GOAL:• To enhance the viability of biomass fuel as a manageable and environmentally sound energy source

OBJECTIVES:

• Indonesian ICS Networking more and more strengthen and sustainable

• Technological Development include the non-stove aspects

• Mainstreaming – Interaction and Raising support from potentials ESAs

• Objectives:– Indonesian ICS Networking more and more strengthen

and sustainable

� Activities:– Strengthen and Sustain the national network as sharing

platform for organisations/institutions dealing with Biomass energy & ICS: having Regional sub focal point in Indonesia, National meeting and Indonesian sub regional meeting, develop Stove Information Center (stove, biomass, kitchen).

– Continue the Capacity Improvement of development stakeholders through various appropriate modalities: Training, Workshop, Exchange, study tour.

– Continue the Development & Updating the appropriate dissemination avenues: bulletin, homepage, poster, leaflet, film, books and CD.

• Objectives:– Technological Development include the non-stove

aspects �Activities: (Invention, Innovation, Adaptation and/or Adoption):

– R& D and Pilot Action» biomass gasifier plant» wood gas stove

– Indoor Air Polution related Appropriate technology (non stove)

– Industrial and institutional stove

ESAs (Heifer Program Indonesia, JICA, PLAN Indonesia, GTZ, DJLPE, VSO, CUSO, GEF ,etc)

Activities:- communicating and giving technical assistance to integrate with

their program− send news and bulletin− using home page and mailing-list as an interactive media

communication and information− maintaining relation with other networks

– 110 participants from 76 organizations are developed– Training on Making Thai Bucket: 6 participants from 3 provinces– Kitchen Improvement Refresher Training in Kalibawang Subdistrict

• Conducted MPA in Lempong Pucung Village Cilacap District Central Java Province

• Community Planning:– Cookstove Option/”Dream stove”

• No of little smoke stove • Not too much sooth that utensils do not get black and direty• Safe fuel • Durable• Not hot for the cook• Some want one hole stove (one hole for cooking palm sugar, two holes

for house hold stove)– To realize the “dream stove”

• Training (conducted in January 2006)– Dissemination:

• By group: There are 2 group @ 10 people• By seller/order (who has been trained)

• Results:• 14 HH ICS (2 holes) has been built among the member of the 2 groups• 2 ICS (one hole) for making palm sugar• Some HH ICS has been made and to be bought by the neighbouring

village• Conducted ICS competition to promote the ICS dissemination in

Indonesia independece day celebration: there ware 3 winners from 5 groups @ 3 people
