Indiana Blood and Marrow Transplantation

The Indiana Blood and Marrow Transplantation (IBMT) program at Franciscan St. Francis Health Cancer Center offers unique, patient-focused, full-service transplant care. IBMT specializes in treatment of patients with leukemia, Hodgkin’s or non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and many other malignancies and blood disorders.

Our nationally recognized physicians pioneered the first transplant program for blood cancer in Indiana and have performed several hundred of transplants, both inpatient and outpatient. IBMT provides you access to the latest research, clinical trials and specialized treatments. The program offers transplants for both autologous and allogenic patients.

The inpatient unit is located at Franciscan St. Francis Health – Indianapolis on the fourth floor of the tower building and serves as its own intensive care unit. IBMT has 17 private transplant rooms, each with HEPA filters to minimize the chance of infection.

Our outpatient clinic model enables patients the opportunity to undergo the transplant process in the outpatient

clinic during the day and stay at home or nearby local accommodations at night.

State-of-the-art tissue and bone marrow matching is performed at Franciscan St. Francis Health – Indianapolis through our HLA and Vascular Biology Lab. The program is accredited by the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics and the College of American Pathologists.

IBMT has one of two photopheresis centers in Indiana. Patients with CTCL, organ rejection or Graft versus Host Disease can now be treated close to home in a personalized, convenient setting.

The program not only offers patients cutting-edge research and advanced cancer care, but also provides a variety of assistance and support for patients and their families who receive treatment at our facility.
