INDIAN ARMY RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION FOR RALLY AT GOVT STADIUM,KAVARATTI, UT LAKSHDWEEP ISLANDS FROM 24 NOVEMBER TO 28

NOVEMBER 2017

1. An Indian Army Recruitment Rally will be conducted under the aegis ofHeadquarter Recruiting Zone, Bangalore by Army Recruiting Office, Calicut at GovtStadium Kavaratti, UT of Lakshdweep from 24 November 2017 to 28 November2017 to enroll eligible candidates into the Indian Army from UT of Lakshadweep &Mahe in the categories of Soldier General Duty, Soldier Technical, Soldier NursingAssistant, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, Soldier Tradesmen. Candidateswill have to apply online only on the official website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in from09 October to 12 November 2017. It is essential to mention Aadhar Card details inonline application. Candidates who apply online for the Rally successfully will be ableto Download Their Admit Card after 14 November 2017 fromwww.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Candidates are requested to print their admit card neatlyand bring it to the rally site. The admit card should be handled with care and neitherfolded nor crumpled. Candidates are allowed to apply for only one trade.

2. Recruitment Programme. Date and time of appearing for the Rally willbe intimated to the candidates on their registered e-mail ID and will also be mentionedon the Admit Card. Candidates are advised to come fully prepared to the Rally forappearing in running test, physical fitness tests and physical measurement tests.

3. Medical Exam of Candidates. Primary medical examination will be carriedout at Rally site with effect from 25 November 2017.

Notes:-

(a) Candidates who are below 18 years of age will have to bring their parentsconsent certificate.

(b) Sportsmen who have represented India at International level or State atNational level and even if they have not obtained 1st/2nd position are eligiblefor relaxation in physical standards and bonus marks in Common EntranceExamination as per laid down policies on the subject. The validity period ofsports certificate produced by the candidate will be two years on the date ofscreening.

(c) Sportsmen who have represented district at state level and universityteam or regional team at district level and have earned 1st/2nd position will beeligible for physical relaxation and bonus marks in Common EntranceExamination as per laid down policies on the subject. The validity period ofsports certificate produced by the candidate will be two years on the date ofscreening.

CANDIDATES WILL REPORT TO GOVT STADIUM, KAVARATTI UT OFLAKSHDWEEP AT 0400 HRS ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AS PER THEPROGRAMME GIVEN IN THEIR ADMIT CARD.

(i) Should have secured minimum 50%marks in each subject and minimum 60%marks in aggregate in class XII.(ii) Should have studied English andMath/Accts/Book Keeping in Class XII orclass X and should have secured minimum50% marks in each of these subjects,whether studied in Class XII or X.(iii) Even if a candidate is graduate or hasa higher qualification, percentage marksscored in Class XII would be applicabletowards his eligibility.

6. The candidates who have passed class 10th with GPA/ grade sys will also carrytheir mark sheet showing marks in figure obtained from respective board. The markssheet should be produced during the rally and is a mandatory requirement forappearing in the CEE.

7. Age Group. Age of the candidate will be considered as on 01 October 2017.Age criteria for recruitment rally will be as under:-

8. Other Conditions:-

(a) The candidates should be medically fit to join Indian Army at the time ofRally.

(b) For Candidates below the age of 21 years, Indian Army will enroll onlyunmarried candidates.

(c) Tatoo/Engraving. Permanent body tattoos are ONLY PERMITTEDON INNER FACE OF FOREARM I.E FROM INSIDE OF ELBOW TO THEWRIST AND ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF PALM/BACK (DORSAL) SIDE OFHAND. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptableand candidate will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoo mark onthe face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted ona case to case basis.

9. Registration. All candidates are required to register themselves onlineon the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and apply online from 05 Oct to 07 Nov2017. It is essential to mention Aadhar Card details in online application. 10. Selection Procedure. The tests as mentioned below are mandatory forall: -

(a) Physical Fitness Test (PFT): -

(i)1.6 KM Run for all categories.

(aa) Group- I - Within 5 min 30 secs

(ab) Group-II - 5 min 31 secs to 5 Min 45 secs

(ii) 9 Feet Ditch Jump

(iii) Pull Ups - minimum six

(iv) Balancing Beam

(b) Physical Measurement Test (PMT). The eligibility criteria will be asper details given at Paragraph 4 (Eligibility Conditions).

(c) Medical. The Medical Examination will be carried out on dates givenby Medical Team. Candidates are required to check for date of MedicalExamination at rally site. Candidates referred to MH at rally site will report toconcerned specialist at INHS Sanjivani Naval Base along with 03 x latestpassport size photographs. Candidates will ensure that review medical iscarried out on the dates given to them. Absence from medical examination willresult in cancellation of candidature.

(d) Common Entrance Examination. All the candidates who havebeen declared fit in the Medical Examination at rally site/ INHS Sanjivani willappear a Common Entrance Examination conducted by Army RecruitmentOffice Calicut.

11. Documents Required. Candidates are advised to bring the followingdocuments in original on the day of rally as per programme. The documents shouldbe arranged properly in a sequence and enclosed in a file cover along with one set ofphotostat copy of each duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with his name and seal inEnglish. Candidates are advised to check their Certificate and Marks Sheet formismatch of name, Date of Birth, Parents name, School and other particulars invarious certificates. All documents, rubber stamps and seals should be in ENGLISH:-

(a) 8th/SSLC / 10th, 12th /PUC, ITI and Higher Education Certificate inoriginal.

(b) 3 years diploma in Engg form AICTE recognized institute.

(c) Twelve copies of latest passport size colour photographs. (Polaroidcamera photos and computer photos will not be accepted).

(d) Nativity/Permanent Residence certificate and Caste Certificatefrom Tehsildar/DeputyCommissioner in ORIGINAL in English. Full nameand designation of the officer issuing certificate must be recorded legibly.

(e) Character certificate with office seal duly signed by the Village Sarpanch/Headmaster / Principal of a recognized School / College (where the candidateis presently studying)/ Village Officer/Local police officer in Original NOT MORETHAN SIX MONTHS OLD.

(f) Police verification certificate NOT MORE THAN 3 MONTHS OLD.

(g) PAN Card, ADHAAR CARD & saving Bank Account No of self fromNationalised Bank.

(h) NCC Candidates. NCC certificates in ORIGINAL in case of NCCcandidates.

(i) Sol Clk/SKT only. Certificate of “BUSINESS PROFESSIONALPROGRAMMER” issued by DOEACC Society if applicable.

(j) Volunteers should be UNMARRIED.

(k) Sports certificate should be from Government Federations / SAI andshould be within 2 years from the date of screening.

(l) Two Xerox copies of all above documents duly attested.

(m) All signatures in respective documents will have full name, designationof the officer signing along with date as well as the official round stamp inEnglish/Hindi.

(n) Documents. Since Army is a national organization, all documents arerequired either in Hindi or English language only. The rally procedure hasbeen automated. Hence non availability of documents listed above forrecruitment will result in cancellation of candidature.

12. SOS/SOEX/Son of War Widow & Battle Casualty. In case of candidate beingson of serving soldier of JCO/OR or Officer/son of Ex Servicemen, relationshipcertificate duly signed by Chief Record Officer/Senior Record Officer ofrespective Record Office with date of birth, Joint Photographs of the candidatewith his father will be submitted by candidate in the rally. An affidavit dulyauthenticated by Notary/Class-I Magistrate will also be given by the parent of thecandidate that only one brother/son will be taking bonus marks to get enrolled in theArmy. Format of affidavit is attached with the notification.

13. Pay and Allowances and other Facilities. After enrolment a soldier isentitled to get basic pay approx Rs 23,000/- per month as per 7th Pay Commissionand allowances as admissible along with other facilities such as free ration/ rationmoney, clothing, medical for self and accommodation, Railway warrant for self anddependents, Group Housing Scheme, Army Group Insurance Scheme of Rs25,00,000/-. The other privileges are fully paid Annual Leave up to a maximum of 60days, Casual Leave up to a maximum of 30 days, Medical Leave as recommended byMedical authorities and Leave Encashment up to 30 days in a calendar year andmaximum 300 days in service.

14. Pension. Service pension is admissible to an individual on completion ofmandatory minimum service and subject to rank.

15. Promotion. A Sepoy can become an officer/ Junior Commissioned Officersubject to certain laid down service conditions.

16. Advisory.

(a) Candidates to be self contained for food and water on the day ofdocumentation, the day of screening and the days of medical examination. Nocandidate will be allowed to go out of the rally ground during thedocumentation/screening/medical tests.

(b) Candidates are advised to report to the rally site strictly as perprogramme given on the Admit Card to avoid overcrowding at rally site.

(c) Candidates are advised to take care of their documents/belongingsagainst theft during rally.

(d) Mobiles, tabs and calculators are not permitted at the rally site.

(e) Candidate are advised to view the film on „recruitment procedure at arally site‟ on You Tube (Join Indian Army, be a winner of life) prior to reportingfor rally.

17. Cautions for all Candidates.

(a) Candidates are to be aware that on enrolment into the Indian Army, therewill be certain implications and restrictions on the Fundamental Rightsguaranteed to them by the Constitution of India as per provisions of the ArmyAct (1950) and Army Rule (1954). The candidates will also have to furnish anundertaking to the effect during enrolment.

(b) Army will not be responsible for any injury or death caused to candidateduring recruitment rally. The candidate will participate at his own risk.

(c) Recruitment is a free service and candidates are cautioned againstfalling victim to unscrupulous elements/middlemen/agents/touts. Paying moneyto agents/touts is a crime. Candidates are advised not to waste time and moneyon such activities. Only hard work and merit can lead to success.

(d) Biometric identification and hand writing analysis will be done at eachstage. Imposters will be caught and handed over to Police.

(e) Use of any unfair means will make the candidate liable to disqualificationat any stages of recruitment whenever found. He will be handed over to Police.

(f) Production of fake certificates and making of false declarations will leadto cancellation of candidature and criminal prosecution under the law.

(g) The candidates are liable to be screened for use of physical performanceenhancing drugs during recruitment rally. Candidates are liable to bedisqualified for use of physical performance enhancing drugs duringrecruitment rally. Army will not be responsible for any mishap during therun/other physical test due to consumption of drugs.

(h) Military service is a volunteer service.

(j) Text given in English language will be treated as correct in case ofmismatch of interpretation in other language.
