Employment History

Currently working at Golden Tours Transport Ltd. as a Traffic Supervisor. The company operates open top bus tours in central London and Coach tours throughout the UK. This position is office based at the depot where the buses and coaches are located. It involves allocating duties to drivers, creating driver rotas, covering unallocated duties, ensuring that the legal rules around driving hours are followed this part of the job requires use of Excel and MS Office.

Every day vehicles are checked for damage, drivers' paperwork is checked to ensure driver and vehicle records are kept in accordance with legal requirements. I must also ensure drivers follow the schedule when serving bus stops in London. To do this job effectively requires organising capability and ability to multi task as the company employs over sixty drivers, also discretion and ability to communicate clearly are essential. I have been working here since March 2013.

From December 2012 to March 2013 worked as an Inventory Controller, for Clintons. This was located at the main distribution centre in Loughton. This job involved keeping records of stock movements via the data warehouse program run on Excel, stock had to be physically checked weekly, high levels of accuracy and concentration were required.

July 2011 until November 2012 I worked for integrated solutions, this role was as a rail replacement controller for bus services that operated during rail or underground closures. During this time I was studying at the School of Oriental and African Studies for a certificate in South Asian Studies.

From March 2011 to June 2011 I spent time abroad in India, travelling through the Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, Shimla and ending up in New Delhi. This experience was very valuable, it caused immersion into a culture different from our own. In new Delhi I spent some time volunteering in a school for blind orphans.

The job of Bus Station Controller occupied the time between April 2007 and February 2011. This employment was with Transport for London. The role was based on the Bus Station, the prime duty was to ensure the safety of the public using the station, I also gave information to the travelling public and also dealt with complaints. It was also required of us to report on the efficiency of the bus operators that used the station to TfL management. Customer service was very important in this job and also the ability to deal with crowds especially when the service was delayed.

I spent over a year on the Graduate Management Programme at Bestways, Bestways is a large cash and carry chain selling wholesale to small retailers. This job ended in February 2007 because of a job offer from Transport for London. I began this job in August 2005.
