Meeting Outcomes

➢have solidified project charters and deliverables for our Round 2 activities;
➢Taken steps towards solidifying a compensation plan for our participants; and
➢Established what the committee would like to see represented on a webpage for this project.

Marketing and Outreach Charter
• WHY | Purpose: Unify transportation information and resources for the
community;
Identify best practices for getting the word out; and
Create a peer-educator program for hardest-to-reach individuals to learn about transportation directly from their community.
Marketing and Outreach Charter• WHAT | Deliverables:
Outreach: Community Transportation Navigators Program A Community Transportation Navigator Program Plan,
including sustainability and funding structure, scope of work, and program evaluation;
A recruitment and retention plan for Navigators, including a stipend/ compensation plan and job description;
A training curriculum for Community Transportation Navigators;
Marketing and Distribution A marketing plan when communicating with a diversity of
clients in the region;
A guide or template for transportation agencies to use when marketing and disseminating program information to their clients.
Marketing and Outreach Charter
• HOW | Current Activities Interview peer educator models for what’s possible;
A literature review of relevant peer-to-peer educator models, both locally and around the country;
Interview community ambassadors for what’s needed in a program;
Implement a pilot period for the Community Navigator program;
One-Call/One-Click Charter
•WHY | Purpose:Transportation options are confusing.
There should be one number to call and one website/app to go to where the public can receive multi-modal trip planning or request a ride with any transportation provider in the region.
One-Call/One-Click Charter
• WHAT | Deliverables: Business Plan that will outline what will be expected of
the future system, including:
Connecting provider software/intake systems across multiple agencies;
Accessibility features;
Online and mobile phone application capabilities;
User interface;
Client profiles and security;
Back-end controls, and more.

• HOW | Activities: Hire a technology consultant to develop the business
plan based on our feedback
Initiate a study to assess the system in a small geographic region
One-Call One-Click Study• 1-2 small geographic areas
• Partner with impacted transportation providers and relevant medical facility(ies)
• Establish central phone number and intake form
• Identify staff/volunteers to serve as the “software”
• Partner with local organization to get the word out
• Offer an incentive like taxi/TNC voucher or credits for participating
• Evaluate process to demonstrate value and solidify scope in business plan

Improve the inclusiveness of our coalition and partners

A resource that may include:
A guide for how to plan, host, and conduct follow-ups for inclusive engagement;
How to fulfill accessibility accommodation requests and best practices;
When to use what types of outreach for gathering community input; and
How to audit an organization for inclusivity.

• HOW| Activities:
Interviews with existing inclusive champions
Literature review of existing toolkits and documents on the subject
Continue inclusive planning efforts – listening sessions, surveys, to learn from underrepresented populations
Organize a Summit this fall Caucuses by language or background
Assess need for annual event

• Question: What is fair and meaningful compensation that will fully cover the cost of transportation, respite care, opportunity cost of employment, etc.?
Compensation Proposal• Option 1: Hourly Rate
Hourly rate for attending meetings Would not include participating remotely $15/hour?
• Option 2: Flat Rate per day Flat rate per meeting/event $50-$75/per meeting/summit?
• Option 3: Flat Rate for Project Flat rate for participating as steering committee member
and/or workgroup member. Payment up front? Or after completion of scope? What is a fair amount?
