MOON MOUNTAINLeaving the Santa Cruz of Capuchos Convent we will climb to the Monge. In the way we will pass by the memorial monument to the soldiers that have died in the fire of 1966. Once in the Monge, at 490 meters high, we will profit of a large view to the south. Here we can also find the remains of an Tholos, dated from the Calcolitic.Afterwards we will walk to Peninha, where, at the Saint Saturnino small church, we shall admire the magnificent view of the coast line, from Guincho to Cabo Espichel.Starting to go down, around the west part of the mountain, we enter in a dense and luxuriant bush place where we can feel the refreshing smell of the fauna surrounding us. At the arrival, the guests will be received by a master of ceremony witch will welcome and accompany you. Here you will coexist with pirates and corsairs, to participate in their hard everyday, to taste the food with a good region wine, to listen to their war chants by the light of the torches among other events witch unexpectedly could have happened under those circumstances.

This event can be developed in indoor or outdoor sets and will allow the participants to enter the spirit of the 1001 nights, masked to represent the time. To men there will be given djelabas and turbans and to women, dresses and scarf's for the faces. At the arrival, the participants will be received by thematic characters witch will walk you to the place where the meal will take place, offering them a tea cup. The place could be an Arabic tent with the inside decoration based on carpets, small tables, puffs, lanterns and lamps. Outside there will be placed two exhibits with henna paintings and pipes. The animation will consist on two belly dancers. Occasionally it is possible to have a faquir performance and a serpent enchanter.
