Brian Campbell and Ma Diamond became the new owners of Colman’s Country Campers in early 2019 and has been dedicated to making their customers happy. Colman’s Country Campers, one of the largest dealerships in the state of Illinois, provides superior customer service. They have an enre team that consists of professional sales members, finance experts, service technicians, and a knowledgeable parts and accessories staff to support its customers. The duo, Campbell and Diamond, are also opening up Five Diamonds Campground, next to Harord’s Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower. The campground will have 49 spaces, water, sewer and electric hookups, and a small convenience store located at Colman’s Country Campers. Five Diamonds Campground is expected to open in October. Colman’s Country Campers offers the newest models including Flagstaff, Puma, Surveyor, and Wildcat. Their indoor showroom allows you to shop in comfort even on those days when the weather doesn’t cooperate. Sonny Asani was raised in Macedonia with an Italian mother and Albanian father. The old-world heritage and charm are apparent in his restaurant, along with honoring his mother’s recipes. Sonny lived the American dream working his way up the chain after

alongtheMississippiandIllinoisriversin2019,visitorsflockedtotheGreatRivers&RoutesTourismBureauregionwhichincludesMadison,Jersey,Calhoun,Macoupin,MontgomeryandGreenecounties.Visitorsspent$718.5millionin2019anincreaseof3.3percentover2018.Theregionreceivedlocaltaxreceiptsof$19.37millionfromvisitorspendingin2019comparedto$18.64millionin2018.Thatisa3.9percent

increase.TheonlycountynotingadeclineinrevenueswasJerseyCountyduetotheimpactofriverflooding.MadisonCountyhada5.6percent

increaseinlocaltaxreceiptsandCalhounCountyreporteda7.8percentincreaseinlocaltaxreceiptsfromvisitorspending.TheStateofIllinoisreported

domesticandinternationaltravelerspendingat$43.1billion,anincreaseof$1.3billionoverthesameperiodin2018.Inaddition,theIllinoistourismindustrycreatedover1,800newjobsin2019.Thestatesawanoveralljumpinstateandlocaltaxrevenuefromvisitorspendingof7.7percent.Jobgrowthclimbedslightly

intheGreatRivers&Routesregion,whichcelebratesatotalof5,090fulltimejobsinthetourismsector.“Thesenumbersare

encouragingandbittersweet.TheyshowhowvitaltourismistothelocaleconomyandhowCOVIDimpactedusin2020,”

The Great Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau is the destination marketing organization serving Madison, Jersey, Calhoun, Macoupin, Montgomery, and Greene counties. The bureau is dedicated to educating visitors about the great things the region has to offer by providing information regarding the area’s history, unique landmarks, recreational opportunities, leisure attractions, special events and scenic marvels. The tourism bureau is certified by the Illinois Bureau of Tourism. It is also nationally accredited through Destinations International (DI).
