Optus TV REMOTE APP USER GUIDE

Now you can take control of your TV wherever you are with the Optus TV with Fetch remote app. Explore Optus TV with Fetch on your connected devices and you can do some clever little things like:

• Control your Optus TV with Fetch set-top box through the app – using your connected devices like a remote control.

• Browse your local TV Guide, schedule and manage recordings and more, right from the palm of your hand.

• Watch films through Movie Box, and live Subscription TV on your connected devices – in your home or on the go.

• Watch trailers and browse the on-demand movies and shows available on Optus TV.

4

BEFORE YOU GET GOING...It won’t take long to install the Optus TV with Fetch remote app. But before you do, just check your device is supported and you’ve got all you need to make it happen.

Just a reminder: The Optus TV remote app screens used in this guide may look slightly different to yours, depending on which device you’re using.

If you’re using the app on a fixed Optus broadband connection, it won’t use any data from your allowance. Any content used via any other connection, like 3G, 4G, LTE, or if your broadband is with another provider, will be metered.

GOT ONE OF THESE? THEN YOU’RE GOOD TO GO.

HOW MANY PLAYBACK DEVICES ARE ALLOWED?A playback device is any paired mobile or tablet on which you can play Optus TV content.

You can only have up to 3 registered playback devices at any time for watching live Subscription TV channels and Movie Box.

Optus TV will register your mobile or tablet the first time you play Subscription TV or Movie Box on it. You can then register 2 more mobiles or tablets to have a total of 3 playback devices for this type of content.

Figure 40: Registering a device for playback of Movie Box

35

• If you Cancel the warning, you won’t be able to watch a Movie Box movie or Subscription TV on this new mobile or tablet. However, you can still watch on your set-top box and TV, or on one of your other registered playback devices.

• If you choose to Switch Out, you may then choose the device to switch out, and will then need to enter your Parental PIN to proceed.

Once your new mobile or tablet is registered, the content will start playing. If your device cannot be registered at this point, the app will inform you.

SWITCHING PLAYBACK DEVICESYou can switch playback devices if you already have 3 playback devices registered and need to add a new device. If you try to watch Subscription TV or Movie Box on the unregistered mobile or tablet, the app will prompt you to switch out an existing device. There is a limit of 2 switches per calendar month and 10 switches per calendar year.

If you choose to stop playback, the content will start playing on the new device. The device which was bumped will show a message.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU REACH THE SWITCH OUT LIMIT?If you’ve already switched playback devices twice this month or 10 times this year, the app will let you know.

CAN I PLAY CONTENT ON MORE THAN ONE MOBILE DEVICE AT THE SAME TIME?Yes. You can watch Movie Box or Subscription TV on up to 2 of your playback devices at the same time. If you try to play Movie Box or Subscription TV while your other 2 playback devices are currently playing this type of content, the app will prompt you to stop playback on one of the other devices.

Any content used via any other connection, ie. 3G, 4G, LTE or another provider will be metered.

You’ll get a warning if you try to play content while your mobile device is connected to a mobile network (such as 3G).

PLAYBACK LIMITED TO WiFi CONNECTIONSome content on the Optus TV remote app can only be played over a broadband network (ie. is not playable over a mobile network such as 3G). You’ll need to turn on WiFi on your mobile device and choose the Optus broadband network connection to play the content.
