c. The Substitutive Sufferer; Isaiah 53: 4-6, 8, 10 and 12

1 Peter 2: 21-24To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed

d. The Death of the Messiah; Isaiah: 53: 8 ,9 and 12

The events of what is called the Passion of Christ (His torture and death) can be read in Matt 27:28-50; Mark 15:16-37; Luke 23:26-46

Matt 27: 57-60 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed. (Isa 53:9)

Psalm 22:14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels (sign of a broken heart)

Psalm 22: 16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet

O.T. Isaiah 11:1-10 gives a picture of a reigning Messiah who brings peace and prosperity to the entire world and Psalm 72:1-19 speaking of the righteous reign of the Messiah who’s name will endure forever

Matt 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Luke 1:32-33 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

1 Tim 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom (rule)
