The dieline files are marked withthe letters DL, and those areused to cut the fabric to theproper shape and size.

Open the DL/dieline files withembroidery software, and printthem. If you do not haveembroidery software, Wilcom'sTrueSizer is a free program.

Spray two pieces of cutawaystabilizer with temporaryadhesive, like Gunold's KK100.

Cut one piece of the solid colorfabric and one piece of the printfabric.

Smooth each piece on top of apiece of cutaway stabilizer.

Spray the backside of the printeddielines with a bit of temporaryadhesive, and smooth them ontop of the fabric.

Cut out the shapes.

Cut a 3" length of the 1/8" thickcord. This will become the buttonloop closure for the case.

Bring the ends of the cordtogether to form a loop. Securethe ends together with a smallpiece of masking tape.

Add the loop to the center top ofthe backside of the print fabricpiece with another small piece ofmasking tape.

To prepare the front fabricpiece, trim off the top flat edgeof the front dieline.

Cut a piece of the print fabricto a little bit larger than twicethe height of the front dieline. This added height is becausethe fabric will be folded at thetop edge of the front dielineshape in the next step. Spraythe wrong side of the fabricwith adhesive.

Cut a piece of lightweightbatting a bit larger than thefront dieline shape. Smooth thebatting on one side of the printfabric. Then, fold the other sideof the fabric over the batting. The fold of the fabric shouldmeet the edge of the batting.

Spray the backside of the frontdieline shape with a bit ofadhesive. Align the top flatedge with the folded edge ofthe fabric/batting piece.

Now that the pieces are cut andready, it's time to embroider thecase.

Hoop a piece of tear-awaystabilizer.

Note: When choosing tear-awaystabilizer, choose stabilizer that issoft and fibrous. Steer clear oftear-away stabilizer that's stiff orfeels too much like paper, asthose will not yield good results.

Attach the hoop to the machineand load the full embroiderydesign (not the DL files).

Embroider the design. The firstthing to sew is an outline for theback piece. This traces the areawhere we'll put the fabric shape.

Note: Use a size 11 or 75/11sharp sewing needle, not anembroidery needle. A sewingneedle has a smaller, finer pointthan an embroidery needle, andthat will make smaller, finerperforations in the stabilizer.

Spray the back side of the solidcolor back fabric piece withadhesive.

Place that piece right inside thesewn outline.

Continue embroidering thedesign.

A tack down stitch will sew next.

This binds the fabric to thestabilizer for the remainder of theembroidery.

Other elements of the design willsew.

On the color change sheet therewill be a step that says "tackdowns, finishing seams." Whenyou reach this step, stop themachine and remove the hoop.

Spray the backside of the printback fabric piece (with the loop)with adhesive.

Place that fabric on the back ofthe embroidery, right inside theshape.

Secure the loop in place with asmall piece of tape. This willprevent the loop from being sewnover in the remaining steps.

Next, spray the upper cornersand bottom point of the frontfabric/batting piece with a quickshot of adhesive.

Place that fabric piece on thefront of the embroidery, aligning itwith the bottom section of theshape.

For the remaining steps, wind abobbin with the same thread thatis used in the top, as theremaining stitches are seen fromboth sides of the case.

Attach the hoop to the machineand continue embroidering thedesign. Tack down stitches willsew all around the outer edge ofthe shape. Also, finishing satinstitches will sew along the topedge.

After the embroidery hasfinished, unhoop the stabilizer.

Remove the tape from the loop, and tear the excess stabilizeraway.

Turn the case right side out. Usethe blunt end of a pen or pencil topush the tip all the way out.

Next, add the button for theclosure. To get a perfect fit, inserta pair of scissors into the case.

Close the flap and mark wherethe bottom of the loop lies on thefront of the case.

Sew the button in place bysewing the first stitch through theouter layers of the front.
