Many have commented on the fact that we seem to avoid the usual paths ofaudio companies. We did not, as such, design a DVD player, though such aproduct would be highly profitable for us. Instead,we designed the absolutely bestsounding FM tuner possible.

Choosing a new audio system is an important issue, afterall it is an investment you will have to live with for manyyears to come.

When people invest in a product like ours, we feel it isimportant that we respect the customer, and not fall intothe traditional marketing "trap", where a new "improved"

product is launched each fall, where the warrenty isonly very limited, and where the only care about

the customer, is to get his money, and get himout of the door again.

Which this in mind, we take adifferent approch to many of the

established norms in thebusiness. You have with

out any doubt heardthe expression "it is so

good it reveals thepoor quality of most

recordings". But is thatreally a quality ??!?!?

Shouldn't it reveal the music ofthe recording ?!? And reveal as

much music as possible ! For us, theanswer to this is very clear, and with

this in mind we have made the followingsimple rules for evaluation of audio:

1) Evaluate audio with music you like2) Evaluate audio with both good and poor recordings3) Listen to all kinds of music4) Plug and Play5) Avoid buying equipment to compensate for faults.6) Rule the system, don't let the system rule you.7) Enjoy music

Ad 1) Many take perfect recordings with them to thedealer when they are on the search for a new system.Instead take the music you like with you. After all, you donot play the CD's to impress the dealer with your highstandards of music, but to find a system that plays themusic you like. And rest assure, that when the customersare out of the door, the dealer himself plays the music helikes as well !

Ad 2) Avoid the trap of ending up with a system that canonly plays a select few recordings, instead focus onending up with a system that can dig out music of eventhe poorest recordings, so you can play the music youwant to hear, instead of the recordings you want to hear.

Ad 3) Many people have a very select taste of music, butoften experience that when they ends up with a high endsystem, it can only play one kind of music, namely thepreferred musical style of the owner. However a true highend system should be capable of playing all kind ofmusic, so the owner can discover all kinds of music, asthere is so much good music in all gengeres, and a goodsystem is a tool to discover this,and broaden ones musicalhorizon.

Ad 4) Often you are told that the products should warmup for weeks, and you should not evaluate them beforethis period is over. However the downside of this is thatduring a warm up period of several weeks you get used toa product, and as such partly looses your ability toevaluate it objectively. Therefore a good system shouldplay music from the initial turn on. Obvious it will - andshould - become better in time, but nearly from thebeginning the musicallity should be present. This will onlywarrant you with even more musicallity as time passes.

Ad 5) Often a product is bought to compensate for aproblem in the system, say like buying a new "soft"sounding CD player, because the system sounds bright.However this is like the classic of going to the doctorbecause the toe hurts, not realising it is because the shoeis to small. Often there is another reason, and ourexperience is that when a system do not play musically,the listener starts listen after faults, exactely like when yousee a boring film, you starts to notice the poor quality ofthe pictures, whereas the opposite happens, when yousee a good film, where you can even forgets that it is onlyblack and white..!

Ad 6) Many owners of audiosystems are easily impressedwith the largest most powerfull audioequipment, andends up with a system that looks like Launch Control atCape Canaveral. However if size was everything wewould all be driving in trucks !

A good system is a system not only you, but also yourpartner in life cherish. After all there is no fun sitting in frontof the system, and knowing that your partner absolutelyloate your choise of equipment. Choose a system that allcan live with, this will allow all to share the passion of music

together,and will make music a natural gathering point ofthe family.

Ad 7) In real life you go to a concert to listen to music andhave a musical experience. In reality it should be thesame with your audiosystem, the music should be whatmoves you. Often people ends up only listening to the hifi,they place the artist on the soundstage etc etc, but theyends choosing to listen to the best recordings, instead ofthe best music possible, eventhough the music is thereason to get a audiosystem.

As the only company in the industry, Densen offer a lifelong warrenty.We have always done this,but never beforeadvertised this,as it was so logical for us, that if you want tobuild the best product, you also offer the best warrenty.

The lifetime warranty is for the first owner of a product.People who buy used Densen equipment, do not get thewarranty, but can have repairs done at the Densen headquarter for a very reasonably price.

The lifetime warrenty works as follows:

When purchasing a new Densen product, you must sendin the registration card enclosed with all Densen productswithin 14 days after the purchase.

The local warrenty, which is carried out by your localdealer/distributor and variates from country to country,when this warrenty is over, the Densen lifelong warrantytakes over.

When the Densen lifelong warranty is valid, you mustcommunicate directly with the Densen Head Quarter,and we recommends using email: [email protected]

Our staff will decide if the product needs to be send toDenmark, or can be fixed on your home address. In thecases where it must be shipped to Denmark, werecommends using normal surface mail which can bedone secure and cheap. This cost the owner of theproduct must pay. The repair, spareparts, andreturnshipment will be paid by Densen.

People who have bought a used Densen product canget Densen to do a repair for a fixed price, and pay inadvance on the internet.

We have all spareparts on stock, and will do all repairsrelatively quick. In the unlikely event that we do not havea sparepart many many years after a production of aproduct seaced, we will offer the owner a compensation.

Total QualityAttention to every detail

During the last 20 years we have been told that handbuildhighend is preferably. However eventhough this goes forsome aspects of the building process, it is not correct forall parts of the process.

From the intial design phase, we focus on giving as muchmusic and quality for the money as possible. An exampleare the cabinets of Densen. Where others use steel andhuge heatsinks to dissipate the heat, Densen design thecabinets in Aluminium, which has excellent heatdissipation characteristics and are at the same time nonmagnetic, which reduce MID (Magnetic InducedDistortion) to an absolute minimum. This makes it possibleto avoid the external heatsink, as the cabinet is used asheatsink, thereby focusing the resources on the design ofthe audiostages, instead of heatsinks which does notimprove the sound !

We also believe the design of the cabinet resembles thecare taken in all other aspects of the design, so if aproduct is made of poorly manufactured materials, withvisible screws, various colours on the display etcetera, it ispossibly a sign that there has also not been used care inthe design of the audiostages. We take an extremelyperfectionistic approach to all aspects of the design,whether it is the small details, like there is not visible screwson any Densen design. Whether it is the extrudedaluminium cabinets, which are made to extremely highstandards due to the extrusion process (instead of theusual sheet metal which is bended into shape).

The printed circuit boards are all made of Teflon, and allare robotmounted with a precision of 0,02mm, which ismuch better than by hand mounting.The benefits are thatsuch presicion avoids stress in the solderings, which is one

of the reasons why solderings often breaks up after acouple of years, with faulty products as a result. In order tofurther improve the solderings and avoid oxidation ofthese, all solderings on Densen products are made in anartificial athmosphere of nitrogen. This improves signaltransfer, and secures an extremely long lifetime of thesolderings.

The parts quality is extremely high, like Vishay metalfilmresistors, custommade capacitors, cusomtmade toroidtransformers which is "extra stiff" to avoid the voltagelowers during high outputs, which otherwise wouldcompress the dynamics.

There is also only one main pcb board in each product, toavoid lengthy signalpaths through wires. As wires alsomeans costly handmounting, the benefits of amotherboard is also lowered mounting costs, which againallows for even better parts quality.

The focus on maximizing the sound, also means thefeatures on the frontplates are only the most essential. Thisis obvious when looking at the very few pushbottons oneach Densen product.

If you wants features you must therefore invest in theGizmo systemremote,which can do everything your heartdesires with a Densen system and even dim the light inyour listening room, when the forthcoming lightcontrollerfrom Densen is available.

To allow easy upgrade of features and software, themicroprocessors in each Densen product can easily beupgraded, to allow the products to work perfect withfuture products.

UUppggrraaddeessAn important piece of the vision of Densen is that you willbe able to continuously upgrade your system, withouthaving to discard most of the components you havealready invested in. It is equally important that you willhave the same sound signature in all Densen products.This means that by upgrading your system,you will not endup with a sound that is completely differently from the oneyou started out with. This means if you like the sound youhave from your existing system, you will love the soundwhen you have upgraded it. Every time you upgrade youwill experience the Densen sound, just at a higher leveleach time.

There is a red line in all our products, so that each time youupgrade your system, you will get even more music. Ouropinion is that an upgrade must be well worth the moneyyou have paid and not just be minor improvements.

The continuing upgrade possibilities mean that you canstart out with a B-100 and a B-400 PLUS. Upgrade with a B-300 to gain a better sound and to utilize the benefits of Bi-amping. The B-400 PLUS can be upgraded to the XSversion. (Existing customers with a B-400 can also upgradeto the PLUS version or the XS version).The integrated or preamplifier (B-250) can be upgraded with external powersupplies for even better sound.

Now you can add more power amplifiers to enjoy thebenefits of Bi-amping,Tri-amping and maybe even Quad-amping. Ultimately you can go active with SAXOelectronic crossover… This way you can always build onyour system and upgrade to better sound.

SSuurrrroouunndd SSoouunnddThe SA boards (Surround Audio Boards) are not atechnological breakthrough, but they are a revolution fornew features. The SA boards are add-on boards for allintegrated and pre amplifiers (except B-200). This is a veryeasy and sonically superior way to enter the world ofhome cinema or Super Audio system.

All our products are dedicated 2 channel productsinitially, but with the SA boards you get 5.1 and 7.1 lineinput and 5.1 and7.1 line preout.This means youcan easilyconnect as u r r o u n dprocessor, DVD-player or SACD-player. If you have a system consisting of apreamp and 2 channel power amp, you can then withthe SA boards implemented connect a B-340 (4 champlifier) and then have 6 channels (5+1) of high gradeamplification.

The SA boards exist in two versions; The SA-02 board is thestandard version with a competitive price, allowing foreasy Surround. SA-01 is the reference version, withextremely high quality preampstages.

All 5.1 and/or 7.1 channels can be controlled from theGizmo system remote, so that you can adjust for perfectlevels and balance between the channels from yourfavorite listening and viewing position.

Expanding possibilities

SSAAXXOO EElleeccttrroonniicc CCrroossssoovveerrThe SAXO electronic crossover is the ultimate expansionfor your Densen system. When you go active with theSAXO you will experience the greatest of allimprovements when it comes to sound. Due to thesuperior technology of an active system compared to apassive, the improvement is simply massive !

At the same time the SAXO solution is reasonable in price,since the SAXO is build into the amplifiers you already

have, so there isnot investments ina cabinet to housethe SAXO, noinvestments inextra cables toconnect to the

electronic crossover, only an investment in the SAXOboards.

The SAXO boards are custommade exactly to YOURspeakers. This means that we measure and analyse yourspeaker, and make an exact crossover for it. Due to thebenefits of the active crossover, compared to the passivecrossover, you must expect a huge improvement in allaspects of the sound; clarity, transparency, dynamics,soundstage, detaillevel, and overall musicality will bemassively improved.

If you later decide to upgrade your loudspeaker toanother model or brand your SAXO crossover will not beobsolete. The SAXO crossover you own can be upgradedto fit any new loudspeaker you may choose.

MMuullttiirroooomm && DDeennLLiinnkkThe DenLink system, allows 2-way communicationbetween the products and in multiroom installations. It ismade to be an intelligent system, where each product,will help each other, meaning that IR signals received byany Densen product, will be transferred to the product forwhich they are intended, securing a perfect receiving ofIR information. Each product will be aware of which otherDensen products are in the system, to allow problem freeuse of remote etc.

On the integrated and pre amplifiers, the link system willallow the user to put poweramplifiers into standby, tosend music to link amplifier in the kitchen, or anotherplace, and control the main system from any linkcontroller. It will be possible to take the remote transmitterto the other room,and control the link from there,or to usethe remote in the main system like a normal remote. Tosecure high quality sound in the multiroom system, link-output is done through a separate balancedpreampstage which is build into any Densen preamp orintegrated amp. The choice of balanced output in thelinksystem is to avoid hum with long cableruns. Withnormal cablelenghts (in your main system) we feelsingleended amplification is better, which is the reason allour products are single-ended.

All in all, this system is extremely versatile, and will be thebackbone of Densen products for many years to come. Itis even prepared for extensions, meaning that the CPU,which is the heart of the system, can be updated.

The DenLink / Multiroom system is also prepared forcontrolling lights so they will be able dim.

BEAT B-130Integrated amplifier

The B-130 is the culmination of an extremely long designphase, with the object of designing the most musicalamplifier, which at the same time could drive all speakerswith ease and musicality. It has all the upgrade optionsyou would expect of a Densen amplifier, and contains theadvanced dotmatrix display, now a feature on all newDensen integrated amplifiers, and will in connection witha Gizmo remote give you all the information you wish.When turning on a B-130, the first thing you notice is theengagingly involved sound, which drags you into themusic, and gives you all the passion and excitement youwant from a Densen amplifier. At the same time, the B-130contains all the advanced features you would expect ofthe new generation of Densen products, which all allowsyou nearly endless upgrade paths in your pursuit of evenbetter sound and music.

This is the new top of the line integrated from Densen. It isbuilt around the B-250 preamp, and the B-350 monoblockmeans it is simply a killer amp in sheep's clothing!Considering its heritage, this is an outstanding amplifier,which will secure a solid musical basis in every audiosystem. At the same time, it is very versatile, and can beupgraded with both an MM/MC phono stage, SAXOcrossover, and SA Board. It contains the advancedmicroprocessor driven relay attenuator using metal filmresistors, and the preamp stage is also based around thepreamp stage found in the B-250. The new reference preamplifier from Densen is perhapsthe most advanced stereo preamp on the market. It isfilled with advanced solutions, which all share the goal ofgiving you even more musicality. The volume is controlledby an extremely precise attenuator made of Vishaymetal film resistors, which is switched by relays controlledby the microprocessor.

This results in an unsurpassed precision and refinement,and the attenuator contains no less than 256 steps! Itcontains socket for the SA Board for surround, sockets DP-03 and DP-06 MM and MC stages. The B-300 is the smallest power amplifer in the Densenrange,however there is not really anything small about it. Itdelivers 100 watts into 8 ohms and doubles in 4 ohms,which is only done by the best of designs. It has the samesound characteristics as the more expensive poweramplifiers.The B-300 can be adjusted internally to match apassive preout, for use with a CD-player with variableoutput directly. Internally there is also a socket for theSAXO electronic crossover for an amazing improvement insound. However, most importantly and besides all thesefeatures, the B-300 is an expression of Densen's musicality,and bears all the trademarks of a Densen design, such asa massive power supply, custom-made capacitors and afantastic performance. You will not find a more musicalpower amplifier at this price point.

The B-300XS is the super version of the legendary DM-30.The B-300XS contains an outputstage built using Densen'sunique DMCD technology (patent pending). This makesthe B-300XS extremely fast and precise, while retainingunlimited control of the speakers connected. Also thebandwidth is extreme and goes straight to 400.000Hz,resulting in improved slew-rate. This amplifier, as anyDensen amplifier, has the capability to drive anyloudspeaker on the market.

Even though the B-300 seems as the same amplifier as theB-300 on paper, however the difference is nothing butbreathtaking and this is the main reason why it is one ofthe most sold power amplifiers. This amplifier is by far the most versatile amp in the Densenrange.The amplifier itself is basically 2 pcs of B-300XS with 4channels and slightly reduced output power.The B-340 is amultipurpose 4 channel poweramplifier. It can be used inan almost endless line of combinations; Bi-Amp mode, theeffect of using the B-340 in this mode is stunning, as italways is when you biamp. But here you can takebiamping to another level, because you can use theSAXO crossover, and have a true active system (byremoving your speakers' crossover, and using the SAXOinstead….). In use with an existing 2 channel amp youcan, with the B-340, have a total of 6 channels allowing for5.1 or the new 6.1 / 7.1 system with active subwoofer. One of the reasons for this is the unique PlusBitTechnology©. Since the introduction of the first Densen amplifier,all Densen modelsare zero-feedback designs. This means there is no feedback loop inthe amplifiers (neither local- nor global-feedback is used).

In principle, a feedback loop works by comparing the input to theoutput and adjusting the input signal until the output signal isperfect. However, as the signal always takes some time to passthrough the amplifier stages, the comparison of input and output isnot the comparison of exactly the same signal. This means that thetheory that feed-back should improve sound by avoiding influenceon the signal from the amplifier stages, is simply theory and not true!

The fact is that feedback,no matter to what degree,alters the signaland the result is: Dynamics will be compressed, micro detailscompensated away, details smeared, sound stage altered, speedslowed down, transparency smeared, and so on. Naturally, you willnot have these problems with a zero-feedback design. However, thebasic design must be extremely much better than designs usingfeedback, which of course is a challenge to our design team, butalso a goal, because when it is reached, it gives a technicallysuperior design,which results in a musicality and sound quality whichmust be heard to be believed.

That is the reason why ALL products from Densen are zero-feedbackdesigns!

DDMMCCDD

DMCD is an acronym for Dense Mass Current Distribution, and byusing the unique DMCD technology (patent pending), the current isat all times present at the output terminal. The DMCD technologywas developed by the Densen design team, in order to furtherimprove the already classic designs.The result of the implementationof DMCD is an extremely low output impedance for a non-feedbackamplifier. This makes the designs extremely fast and precise, whileretaining unlimited control of the speakers connected.

Choice of technology

All Densen products are manufactured using the most recenttechnology. Nearly all circuit boards are made of teflon, and aredouble-layered boards, so that the pcb board can have a noisescreening layer on one side while the signal is on the other side, witha very short signal path. All solderings are made using silver solder,which is soldered in an artificial atmosphere of nitrogen, to avoidoxidation. Robots are used extensively to mount our PCB boards,which results in components mounted with a precision of minimum0,02 mm !!!

We have always used SMD components, as these have the benefitof having no leads, which results in shorter signal path, while thesolderings are also done directly to the component, instead of to theleads, which ensures better conductivity, while also being thermallybetter and with higher reliability.There are many other aspects of themanufacturing process, where Densen sets quality standards neverbefore seen in high end audio, and the result is a build quality andreliability which makes it easy for us to offer the outstanding lifelongwarranty on our products, while also influencing positively on thequality of the sound.

We only use the positively best components in our products.

Often you will hear certain types and makes mentioned as beingthe best. It is not certain that we use these, but you can be sure thatwe have tested them, and if they are good enough, we will usethem, no matter what they cost.... Yes, no matter what they cost,since - due to our large-scale operations - we are able to buycomponents at prices that allow us to develop our products withouteconomic considerations when it comes to components.

An example could be the output transistors we use in the B-110amplifier. The output transistors are also used in some of the world'smost expensive high end amplifiers at more than 11 times the priceof a B-110, but then, also in a B-110.

Like many other components in a Densen unit, the capacitors in thepower supplies are custommade for Densen. This is a solution wehave often had to resort to, as we simply cannot find componentsgood enough in any other way.

We measure and select many components to ensure that thequality is high enough, and that the components match oneanother.

This, for instance, is the case with the Alps potentiometers, where wediscard 35 %.And this is the case for all transistors in our products thatare selected by robot before mounting.

When we use standard components, these are also of the highestquality. This, for example, applies to the resistors in our products, all ofwhich are 1% non-inductive metal film resistors, specially developedfor demanding military use.

All Densen products are designed and manufactured in Denmarkunder the most demanding quality controls.
