More than 7,000 people have been confirmed dead, with many more still trapped under rubble. Over 8 million

people have been affected.

Countless homes and livelihoods as well as crucial infrastructure and historical

sites have been destroyed. In some places, whole villages have been buried.

Tearfund has been working in Nepal since the 1970s, so our partners’ response was immediate. We’re treating injuries as well as

distributing food, clean water and temporary shelter to those who need it the most.

We know some of the most vulnerable people are in the hardest to reach places isolated villages that no one else will

reach. We have teams trekking across mountains and landslides to reach these communities with vital aid.

Please pray.

Father God, we come to you in prayer for the people of Nepal and India. We know you feel their pain and cry with them, and we pray they’ll

know your love and comfort close by. We pray for those who are mourning loved ones and for those coming

to terms with life-changing injuries. May they know your strength. Lord, protect and encourage Tearfund’s staff and partners as they work

in your name to help those in most need. We ask these things in Jesus’ name, Amen
