Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.

Rabindranath Tagore

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Pa Mofor John Ndi who was born on 1st January 1934 in Zhoa, Fungom Subdivision of Menchum Division in the North West Region of Cameroon. He passed to the hands of the Lord on 1st December 2011. Pa Mofor, a retired Divisional Officer, leaves behind, two wives, three sons, seven daughters and fifteen grandchildren. He also leaves behind several brothers, sisters, extended family and friends to remember his love and selflessness. The void left by his passing would never be filled. Rest in peace our dear brother, son, leader, husband and father TAMUFOR MOFOR JOHN NDI. He will forever be in our memories and hearts. We know he is with the Lord and watching over all of us till we meet to part no more.

Every new day seems like a dream. It's been hard to understand that the D.O who's always had plenty of knowledge and wisdom transitioned to the next world. We wish you everlasting peace and will always remain grateful for your legacy. Your life was well lived. Your children and grand children always remind me of your endless efforts to bring everyone close to God; the songs, memory verses, prayers and many church projects... You spent valuable time with the family teaching them the virtues that make our world a better place. Your achievements will live on and we shall keep on praying for you. Adieu

Ani Abiedu

Grandpa, I remember the second time I came to visit you in Cameroon (The first time we met I was only a baby). I had no idea who to look for in that busy Douala airport, but when Grandma Dorothy pointed to you in the distance, I became so nervous and excited. "Wow, that's my grandpa!", I thought. When I got close enough to see you, I was delighted to see that smile on your face. The first thing you said to me was " My daughter, welcome. Are you fine?" All I could do was to nod my head "yes" and hug you! Papa, I spent the best two and a half months of my childhood with you and the rest of my family in Bamenda. I will always remember watching you kill a chicken in the back yard, and saying "My dear, that is how we do it in Africa. We don't go to stores oh". (I still laugh everytime I think about that.) I will always remember the Mambo chocolate you often bought me and the biscuits you made me share with little cousin Mbena. I am grateful that you took me to the palace in order for me to meet all of my family in Meforbe. Although that was the longest time I spent with you, it was not the last. The four other times I saw you were just as important, because they allowed me to spend time with an amazing man, and learn things about you that I never knew. I will always remember your voice, your smile, and most of all, your laugh! Papa, I miss you dearly. We all do. However, I know that your spirit lives on in every single life that you touched. Thank you for everything. It was a blessing to have you as a part of my life. I love you. ♥

God looked around his garden, and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw you. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest beside Him. God's Garden must be very beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew you were better with him. Eventhough the road was getting rough and the hills getting hard to climb, He whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home. May You Rest in Perfect Peace with the Almight The Chicks

PA, Thank you so very much for all the unconditional love you showered on me and my sibblings as far as over twenty years ago. Thank you especially for lodging me , feeding me, consoling me and advicing me when Late Pa Sunday Makia Elango died in the year 2000. I am sorry I never got the chance to come thank you personally for encouraging me to concentrate on my academics in a bid to honour the memory of your late friend/BROTHER whom you fondly called Emperor. I took that advice and Iam today Deputy Chief of Communications at the Directorate General of Elections, Human Rights Focal Point Elections Cameroon and UN Human Rights and Gender Facilitator,UN Information Centre Volunteer Facilitator and the list goes on Pa...Forgive me for not taking time out to tell you personally. I erroneously thought you would be there always as part of the wind beneath my wings.A BELATED THANK YOU IS ALL I HAVE NOW. ACCEPT MY FIRST SALARY MIMBO(drink) on behalf of sunday Makia Elango too.

protectors for the windows of Presbyterian Church Meforbe. He gave 25,000 FCFA to C.M.F. Mbomassa.

OTHER RELIGIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS

During his retirement, Tamufor Mofor John Ndi was not tired. He developed a serious passion for prayers hence the start of a prayer group in 1992. The Prayer Cell started with five Christians and rose to about 80 people. This was then transferred to Mr. Lucas Tabong’s premises in former CENAJES-Mbomassa.Taking into cognizant the fact that the Church constitution says that five members can form a church, Pa Mofor John Ndi and other brothers and sisters in the Lord did not hesitate to apply for one. Their aspirations were further buttressed by the fact that Presbyterian Church Azire was growing by leaps and bounds and thus needed decongestion. The application was granted in 2005 by the Synod after a lot of ups and downs. As Chairman of the project committee, he prayed to God to increase his lifespan so that he can nurse his golden baby. He also appealed to Mr. Muluh Gregory of GP DERUDEP, who gave 200,000 FCFA for corrugated iron sheets for the Pastor’s house in Presbyterian Church Mbomassa.

In his Administrative/political life he conducted several elections. He passed judgments on farmers/graziers problem, fishing problem with the fear of the Lord. That is, without fear or favour. He is remembered in Wum in the early 1990’s for bringing an end to the rampant Land Dispute, Chieftaincy and farmers/graziers problem. Due to his interactions with leaders of all political parties to inform Government, he was petitioned on several occasions. He acknowledged that if not of the petitions,he could have risen and served the Nation in different capacities. He has made a lot of tours within and out of the country. He survived a lot of accidents. He had written about three exposes advising the Government and Administrators how to behave and resolve matters arising in their arrears of jurisdiction. Notably among them is a Document on the Bakassi Pennisular, 10/12/2002. He drew his inspiration on a tour carried out from January 4th through January 8th 1982.

ACTIVITIES IN THE VILLAGE

As Tamufor, next to the Fon of Meforbe Village Garforbe IV, he participated in several activities. He was instrumental in the celebration of the annual dance of the village and the famous “Nikwirifon” of his father Fon Moses Mofor Moka Garforbe III.He was adviser to the Meforbe inhabitants as well as sons and daughters of Santa SubDivision.

HIS FAVORITE VERSES/BIBLICAL LIFE

His favorite verse in the Bible was ‘seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you’ Mathew 6:33.

The verse to him is second to the golden verse which says ‘For god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life John3 : 16.

He stressed that, if every Christian obeyed and applied these two verses above, then the world would remain forever a better place to live. He had a mastery of French and English Language. In Brain trust it was difficult to beat him despite his age. In exercises like to open your Bible and quickly read any passage it was also difficult for young Christians to beat him.

TAMUFOR. MOFOR JOHN NDI leaves behind a grieving family. His wives, several children, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Men and Women of God to mourn him. In fact he was Father of all Children. He would be remembered as the pillar of the family, adviser to sons and daughters of Meforbe village, Santa Sub Division and any body on the planet earth who was fortunate to come in contact with him. In addition, as a Christian he was not afraid to tell you what was on his mind if you did something he did not admire. Despite his age it was difficult to defeat him in a dancing competition irrespective of the music. He attended to people of all classes of life and even if he did not have a solution immediately, he would solve the problem in the future. He was full of energy. He was baptized and took Holy Communion. Being a Christian in the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon he read his Bible, sang from his church Hymnary and read his Church Diary daily between 4:00am and 7:00am.This helped him to conceive ideas which made him one of the founding members of the Christian Youth Fellowship in 1959, Christian Men Fellowship in 1981 and Bethel Choir. He wrote the main points

of each Lesson as well as text on his daily Church Diary through out his stay on earth. Amongst them was the book of Revelation, which he wrote about a vision from Christ in the early hours of the 1st December 2011. Today, the world has loose a leader full of wisdom. The void left by his passing would never be filled. Rest in peace our dear brother, son, leader, husband and father TAMUFOR MOFOR JOHN NDI.
