Peace “First keep peace with

yourself, then you can also

bring peace to others.”

- Thomas Kempis

From Fr. Kenute’s Desk

My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I share with you an excerpt from Peter Woods…

“The Annunciation-Incarnation process seems to unfold in five stages for Mary: 1. Comfort. “Do not be afraid.” 2. Assurance. “You have found favour with

God,” 3. Annunciation of the plan. “You are

going to conceive and birth a God-child” 4. Questioning doubt. “How can this be?” 5. Agreement to partnership. “Let it be with me according to your word.”

Great song it was by John Lennon, “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, ‘Let it be. Let it be…'” “Let it be” It is the moment when Annunciation becomes Incarnation. It is a process which was Mary’s but which is open to us all. It is the way that God keeps being born into this world. Just say ,”Yes. Let it be”

Think on these things.

Though we have heard Mary’s song, we still seek security in pride and power and possessions. Though we know your story, we resist the costs of following you. We pass by those considered lowly in this world. We turn away from hungry people who still wait to be filled. Forgive us, we pray. Help us to work for the justice you intend. Make us messengers of the peace you bring. As we wait for you, turn our apathy into acts of love and service. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel. Amen.
