June 5 Program with Erin Brinkley-BurgardtErin Brinkley-Burgardt of Englewood Camera will present a program on her unique style of Urban Landscape Photography. Urban landscape photog-raphy captures elements between several genres including street, cityscape, traditional landscape and photojournalism.
Traditional landscape photography relies on sub-jects found in nature (i.e., mountains, rivers, trees, flowers, etc.) to provide interest to viewers. In urban landscape, the photographer uses elements in the city much the same way, but transforms the mundane into interesting and beautiful subjects.
This Month's Competition is CityscapesThe official word – Photos of houses or buildings that dominate the image. People or other elements may be included but the primary subject must be the buildings of a city.
Competition Judge - Chris James
If you need the Competition Entry forms or the template for the stick-on labels, you can get both from the Focus website on the Competition Rules page.

Frame #37A collection of extra tidbits I've discovered during the past few weeks.
— There are many photo websites for tutorials and inspiration. But if you're trying to make money from your photography, this group of sites should be on your weekly reading list.
— Father's Day is coming up, and if you need some tips on shooting meaningful images your family will cherish for years just hop over to the Tamron blog for this article.
— Many Focus members are Landscape photogs, and whether you are in that group or aspire to be included, this post from Matt Kloskowski details some of the “tools of the trade.”
— Denver Botanic Gardens presents the Rocky Mountain Region's first major outdoor exhibition of glass artwork by celebrated American artist, Dale Chihuly. Details at the Botanic Gardens website.
It’s about reacting to what you see, hopefully without preconception. You can find pictures anywhere. It’s simply a matter of noticing things and organising them. You just have to care about what’s around you and have a concern with humanity and the human comedy.
