A well placed source said, “Even though the Pradesh BJP is yet to declare the names of respective candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats of Tripura, but the Party has fielded all its units to increase the organiza- tional base of Saffron brigade throughout the state by highlighting various development works during the course of last one year.” On a special note, the ruling camp is trying hard to pursue the voters by emphasizing on the fact that FCI has been buying food grains from farmers across the state for Rs. 17.50 per kg which was earlier set as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) beginning from December last. On the other hand, Jitendra Choudhury – the CPIM nominee for East Tripura parliamentary con- stituency too has begun full-fledged campaign- ing across South Tripura district soon after the completion of his tour to the undivided North Tripura district. It is alleged that the representatives of the authorized persons for this purpose are not using cctv cameras and video recording system accordingly. Here it is to mention that, a tender was called to record different works of ensuing Lok Sabha polls with cctv camera and video recording system on August of 2018. The man who bade the tender engaged his representa- tives to carry on the recording works. But mys- teriously the representatives of the authorized person are not performing their works follow- ing the terms and conditions of the relevant ten- der. In such a state the local cameramen of Khowai alleged that, a section of the district ad- ministration is illegally engaged with these ac- tivities. However, the local cameramen are now demanding for proper investigation of whole matter as well as cancelation of the tender. Mobile in use, tender for video Special Correspondent Guwahati, Mar 18: Thirty- three companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are arriving for Lok Sabha elections in Assam, according to the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Sahu. The CEO said, "The ministry of Home Affairs has allotted 33 com- panies of central forces for Assam so far. The security needs will be reviewed and more forces will be sent de- pending on the need." Most of these 33 companies of central forces either have ar- rived already or will be reaching shortly. The CEO informed that de- tail security arrangement for the election had been worked out taking into ac- count local forces as well as outside forces. The CEO fur- ther said the security deploy- ment for this Lok Sabha election is commensurate with the forces sent for 2014 General Elections. "The de- ployment is more during As- sembly election as more forces are also available, since election doesn't happen across the country simultane- ously at that time," Sahu added. Lok Sabha election will be held in three phases in Assam for its 14 seats on April 11, 18 and 23. It is worthy to mention that one company from outside the state named L.M. Co. Limited was pro- vided with the work-al- lotment to distribute aids and assistive de- vices including wheel- chairs and hearing aids worth around Rs. 2.5 crores for almost 70000 divyangjans throughout Tripura in early Decem- ber 2017. However in reality, only 41 aids and assistive devices were distributed among the divyangjans here at a programme in the PWD Ground at Kumarghatbefore the eventual dis- lodgement of erstwhile Left regime and the in- ception of BJP – IPFT coalition government at the helm of affairs in Tripura on March 9, 2018. And since then, there has been no further dis- tribution of aids and assistive devices among the rest of divyangjans. As a result, these de- vices approximately worth over Rs. 2 crores are still laying abandoned in different CDPO offices across the subdivisions. Former Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Bijita Nath was initially scheduled to distribute the aforemen- tioned devices in Kadamtala which how- ever was not be since the Left Front government was voted out of power. Although with the change of guard, new Social Wel- fare and Social Education Minister Santana Chakma visited Kadamtala in pre- ceding June and urged the concerned administrative officials to dispense these aids and assistive devices among the divyangjans but her appeal came to no avail as the stakeholders turned a deaf ear.
