June, 2017 Dear Manor School Families, We had a fantastic year of learning and we would love to see our students continue to grow over the summer months! Please consider participating in our MANOR SCHOOL SUMMER READING CHALLENGE. Starting on July 1 st and continuing through August 31 st , we’d love to see how many days our students can read. The attached reading calendar offers the reading challenge or activity for each day. Here is how it works: 1) Check the calendar each day. 2) Read and complete the activity. 3) Have a parent initial in the small box of the calendar for each completed activity. 4) Count the number of days you participated and write the amount in the Grand Total Box. 5) Return your calendar to your new classroom teacher on the first day of school. At our Fall Welcome Back/Code of Conduct Assembly, we will acknowledge our Gold, Silver, and Bronze certificate winners. Gold Certificate: Read 50-62 Days Silver Certificate: Read 40-49 Days Bronze Certificate: Read 30-39 Days In addition, please refer to the attached sheets titled “Summer Math Fluency Workout” to keep your math skills sharp. You can also visit mathplayground.com and xtramath.org for additional math fluency practice. Math activities do not have to be returned to school in September.
